Newton’s Nook Designs – Reveal Day 1 – All Aboard for Christmas and Sentiments of the Season

Hello October!   I am so, so excited because it is the first day of the October reveals at Newton’s Nook Designs.   YOU ARE ALL GOING TO LOVE THE OCTOBER RELEASE!  You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you for understanding and I apologize for the confusion.]

For my first card, I am showcasing the All Aboard for Christmas stamp set and dies.

I started out by stamping by images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I cut an A2-sized solar white card stock and colored it using my stamping tool with my broken china distress oxide ink.  I used my Distress Sprayer to spray some water on my card front, and dabbed it with a dry paper towel.

I die-cut the rest of the elements that I needed to create my scene.  I finished the design by adding White Nuvo Crystal Drops and Red Berry Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Here’s my first card:

For the second card, I am showcasing the Sentiments of the Season stamp set with the Snowfall stencil.

I die-cut an A2 size Bristol Smooth White card stock and inked up my background with the Snowfall stencil, ink blending tool and my Broken China distress ink.  I die-cut the middle using a die from my stash.  I also die-cut the pinecones and the pine needles with the Pines and Holly doe set.  I finished the design by adding some 4 mm crystal clear sequins to the snowflake images.  Here’s the second card:

I hope you like my projects today and got inspired.  Would you like to win the “All Aboard for Christmas” or the “Sentiments of the Season” Stamp Set?
Each of these stamp sets will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

  1. I love the All Aboard set, soooo adorable! And the stencils are lovely.
So are your cards! Both designs are awesome.

  2. I LOVE your cards! The train would be perfect to CASE for the animal shelter I knit & crochet blankets & toys for, for Christmas and you demonstrated how perfectly the previously released pine cone die cuts complement the new sentiment set – LOVE that design! Beautiful work all around!

  3. Maria u did a fantastic job creating those two cards from a lovely background & design to the marvelous Christmas scene that’s so precious, i truly lov them both. U are always an inspiration for me & i’m very sure for many others!

  4. Both these cards are fantastic! I love the little hearts coming out of the smoke stack and the dimension on the Santa hats! The other card is just gorgeous with the stenciled background! Thanks so much for the inspiration!

  5. Wonderful cards but I just love your All Aboard card!. The background is amazing and your colouring is beautifully done but the addition of the road and the scalloped frame just takes it to the next level. Love it!!

  6. Wow! Your colors are so beautiful on the second, stenciled, card. I love the whole look – the softness of the stenciling and the simple stitched shapes & pine. It all really showcases the simple but “cute” font of the Noel. (& Oh My Gosh, that train set is so fun, Your Nuvo accents and little heart smoke rings, well, they make me smile!!!)
