Hello everyone! Autumn is in full swing, and I am not quite ready to make Christmas cards just yet.  I’d like to enjoy Autumn as long as possible since it is my favorite season! What about you?

For my project today, I am showcasing the previously released Autumn Tails Stamp Set and Autumn Tails Dies, the adorable Acorn Cubbies Layering Dies, paired with the Autumn Vertical Sentiments stamp set by LDRS Creative.

I had this design in mind for quite some time, but since the Acorn Cubbies Layering Dies didn’t come with leaves, I had to think outside the box and use what I have in my collection.  The leaves were made using the Layered Poinsettia Dies.

I stamped and colored the image from the Autumn Tails Stamp Set and used the coordinating die to cut it out.  Next, I die-cut the Acorn using some cardstock that I previously watercolored from a different project.  I used different watercolors to create layers and dimension for a dramatic look.  I did the same technique for the leaves.

My next step is to use the Scored Arched Rectangle Die to die-cut some white cardstock. I ink-blended the middle piece using Little Boy Blue, Marina Madness, and Soft Kisses Hybrid Ink with blending brushes. 

The best part of creating cards is when you have prepared all of the components and start putting them together.   I used a textured, top-folding notecard to adhere the colored background.  Next, I foam-mounted the frame to give it dimension.  I also foam-mounted the acorn with the critter and adhered the leaves.  I finished the card design by adding the sentiment that I heat-embossed with white embossing powder.  Here’s another look at the card.
