Newton’s Nook Designs May Release Day 2 – Monarchs Stamp Set with Butterflies Stencil

It is the second day of the reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.  I hope you were able to check out yesterday’s reveal.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For day 2, we are showcasing the Monarchs stamp set and coordinating dies with the [Layering] Butterflies stencil.

As soon as I saw this stamp set, I already envisioned a card design in my head.  I knew a clean and simple look would make these butterflies stand out.

I stamped the butterflies on some Bristol smooth white card stock with Versamark ink.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and used my heating tool to heat set the images.

I chose different colors of distress oxide inks and my mini-ink blending tools to ink blend the colors on the butterflies.  I used the coordinating dies to die-cut them out.

I used my guillotine to cut my patterned paper, measuring about 2 by 5 1/2 inches.  I adhered this piece on some A2 size card base.  I also added the black strip with some liquid glue.

I foam-mounted the butterflies following the colors on my patterned paper.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment with some Versafine onyx black ink and adhered the Sparkling Clear Droplets for added texture and dimension.

I really LOVE how simple and pretty this card turned out.  Here’s another look:

For my second card,  I used stencil no. 1 from the Butterflies stencil and and added some Deco Foil Transfer Gel with the Deco Foil stencil pal.  This makes it easier to spread the gel evenly on the card.  I set this panel aside to dry for about half an hour.

Once the gel turns transparent you know that they are ready to be foiled.  I cut some silver foil and placed it on top of the card.  I used the transfer sheet to run this through my laminating machine to foil the card.

To add the second color to the butterflies, I used stencil no. 2 and applied some Deco Foil Transfer Gel on top of the foiled butterflies.  I waited for another half an hour for this piece to dry and placed a rainbow foil on top of the card.  I used the transfer sheet again to run this through my laminator.  I didn’t realize it is possible to foil the images twice but it worked out just fine and I love the result.

I used my guillotine to cut the foiled panel diagonally.  I adhered some white die-cut panel on an A2 size white card base, and added the foiled diagonal panel with some liquid glue.  I adhered some silver strip to the card also with liquid glue and added the sentiment die-cut using a die from my collection.

Here’s another look:

Newton’s Nook May Release Day 1 – Birthday and Floral Roundabout with Circle Frame and Banner Trio

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs. Thank you!]

For the first day of the reveals we are starting with a HUGE bang and showcasing the Birthday Roundabout and Floral Roundabout stamp sets with the new Circle Frame dies and Banner Trio dies.

For my first card, I stamped the image on some Neenah solar white card stock and use the stitched circle frame from the new Circle Frame dies to die cut them out.  I used another circle frame from my collection to die-cut some black card stock.  I also die-cut the scallop circle from the new die set and layered these three pieces together.

I wanted to create a super cheerful project so I decided to make a shaker card.  I die-cut a rectangle frame from my die collection and adhered some acetate sheet.  I adhered some foam adhesive to create my well and added the Sweet Shoppe Sprinkles as my shaker element.   I closed the shaker with some yellow patterned paper and adhered this on an A2 size card base.

I added my focal image in the middle of the card using some strong double-sided tape.

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment on the banner using the Trio banner die with some versamark ink.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.  I adhered this in the middle of the card with some liquid glue.

I’m loving this super fun birthday card.

For my second card, I stamped the image halfway at the top and bottom on some Neenah solar white card stock.  I wanted to keep the coloring simple and decided to just use two colors of markers.

I used the circle die from the Circle frames die set to mask the colored images.  I pressed the word lipstick and mowed lawn stamp pads on my acrylic block and added a few drops of water to dilute the color.  I then used my watercolor brush to add some speckles on my card for added texture and set it aside to dry.

I used one of the dies from the Banner Trio die set and die-cut the piece with some black card stock.  I stamped the sentiment with some Versamark ink.   I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set using my heating tool.

Lastly, I added some sparkling clear jewels to finish the design.

Would you like to win the“Birthday Roundabout” or the “Floral Roundabout”  Stamp Set?  We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

For today’s reveal, we are showcasing the adorable Bitty Bibs stamp set and Baby Bibs coordinating dies with the Sky Scene Builder die set.

To create my card, I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers.  I fussy-cut the images using my  Honey Bee precision scissors.  I die-cut the scallop bibs using the Bitty Bibs die set and adhered the colored images on top of it with some liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped on some black card stock with versamark ink and heat-embossed with my heating tool.

To finish my design, I added the hearts that were stamped and colored using the What A Hoot stamp set.  I absolutely LOVE all the colors on this card.  The bright yellow background made the images pop!  Here’s a closer look:

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the Hop Into Spring stamp set and coordinating dies, with the Raindrops and Petite Flowers Stencil.

I started by die-cutting the scallop card stock using the scallop die from the Frames and Flags die set.  I created the sky background and the hills using the Clouds stencil, the hills from the Hills & grass stencil with some distress oxide inks.

The grass was die-cut using the Land Borders die set and inked up with Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink, and adhered on the background with foam adhesive.

I stamped my image using Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them in with Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers.  I adhered this piece with some liquid glue.

The word “Happy” was die-cut using the Holiday Greetings die set, while the word “EASTER” was die cut using the Essential Alphabet die set.  I wanted the words to have different pastel colors so I used my TriBlend markers again to color them in.  I adhered the letters using some liquid glue.  Here’s that it looks like:

To finish my design, I added the butterfly from the Newton’s Birdbath stamp set.  Here’s a closer look:

For the second day of the reveals, we are showcasing the Love Quarry stamp set + coordinating dies.

To create this card, I started by stamping my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and used my alcohol markers to color the images. I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.

I want my scene to look like these tractors are moving those hearts back and forth so I decided to cut my card stock four times using the land border die.   I ink-blended some of the die-cuts with Tumbled Glass distress oxide inks with my mini ink blending tools.

I adhered the die-cut pieces on an A2-size sidefold card base using either foam or liquid adhesives.  After adhering my images on the card, I realized I was still missing something so I decided to add the clouds using a die from my stash.   Lastly, I stamped the sentiment using some lobster ink.  Here’s the card:

I finished my design by adding glossy accents to the tractors.  I know you can’t see it on the photo but they look like glass.  Here’s a closer look:

Newton’s Nook January Release Day 1 – Tides of Love and Bokeh Hearts Stencil

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs. Thank you!]

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the Tides of Love stamp set + coordinating dies with the Bokeh Hearts Stencil.

To begin, I sprayed my stencil with Pixie spray and cut an A2 size piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock.  I layered stencil no. 1 from the new Bokeh Hearts stencil and used my blending tool and fog ink to add the first set of hearts on my background.  I used stencil no. 2 and Pumice stone distress oxide ink to add the second layer of hearts.

Next, I used some scalloped heart die from my stash to die-cut my ink-blended background.  I also die-cut another heart with some pink card stock and added some texture to this using the Waves stencil with Worn lipstick distress oxide ink.  Since my background is pretty neutral, I wanted to make my focal point stand out.

I foam-mounted the neutral background on a side fold card base and inlaid my focal piece with liquid adhesive.  I stamped and colored my image with my alcohol markers and used the coordinating die to cut this piece.  I foam mounted this image onto my card.

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkled some embossing powder, then heat-set using my heating tool.  I added some white heart sprinkles to adorn the card and glossy accents to the heart for more texture and dimension.  Here’s a closer look:

Life Is Tough But So Are You with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Newton’s Nook fans!  I hope you all had a great holiday with your loved ones!  I sure enjoyed having spent Christmas and New Year’s with my family.  Quality time with my husband and children is one of the things I cherish that nurtures my soul.  I needed a break from all of my DT responsibilities  and so grateful that I got to do it this year.

One of my friends was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and she is currently going through chemo.  Thank God they were able to detect it at an early stage.  However, going through chemo is taking its toll on her tiny frame that she is starting to feel really depressed.  I wanted to cheer her up by creating this card today, showcasing the Newton’s Support stamp set.

I started by creating my own mask by die-cutting a circle on some 110 lb card stock with my circle die.  I used washi tape to temporarily adhere this piece on some Bristol smooth white card stock.  I used my blending brush and Worn Lipstick distress oxide ink to ink up my card stock.  I splattered some water on the card stock and dabbed it with my paper towel to dry.

I stamped my image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the image with my alcohol markers.  Since this set didn’t have a coordinating die, I used my cutter-bee scissors to fussy-cut the image.  I also die-cut the “big hugs” circle twice, using a die from my stash and adhered them together with some liquid adhesive.

I adhered the ink-blended background on some pink card base and also adhered the “big hugs” die-cut with some liquid adhesive.  I foam-mounted my colored image in the middle of the circle.  Lastly, I stamped my sentiment using Versafine Onyx black ink.  Here’s what it looks like:

My friend also LOVES cats so this stamp set is perfect to use for my card today.  Here’s a closer look:

I hope you like my card today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Thank you so much for stopping by today and happy stamping!

For today’s release, the design team is showcasing the Newton’s Toboggan stamp set and coordinating dies with the Mountains Stencil.

To begin, I stamped my image on some Neenah solar white card stock.   I colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers and die-cut the image using the coordinating dies.

I cut some Bristol smooth white card stock measuring 4 1/4 X 8 1/2.  I ink-blended my background with some distress oxide ink.  I also used the Mountains Stencil to create my snowy-mountains on the background.  I used Gina K Glitz Glitter Gel in White to create the snow and set this piece aside for about half an hour until it dried.  I adhered this piece on a 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 slimline card base.

I stamped the trees using the Winter Memories stamp set with some Noble Fir and Celery Stick inks.  I used the Hills and Grass stencil to create my snowbank and adhered my focal image on the foreground.

I used some white Copic Opaque paint to splatter it all over my card to create the snowy look for added texture, and stamped the snowflakes using some Mermaid ink.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the winter Memories stamp set with some Lobster ink.

I know you can’t really tell on the photo but the Glitz Glitter Gel that I added really made the snow pop!  It’s so pretty in real life.  Here’s a closer look:
