For today’s card, I am showcasing the Lovely Blooms stamp set and its coordinating dies. I absolutely LOVE this set. You can use this for any occasion, especially for Mother’s Day (and let’s not forget our beloved Grandmas or beautiful daughters)! I love the script fonts that Jennifer had added to the set as well. This Lovely Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies will be available for purchase on Friday, April 14, at 8:00 a.m. CST.
I wanted to try out my new Distress Oxide Inks and so I started out by distressing my Neenah solar white card stock, combining the Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade Oxide inks. I LOVE THIS COLOR COMBO! The inks were so creamy it was so easy to achieve the color that I wanted for my flowers! I also used the same technique for my leaves, combining Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide with the Pine Needs Distress Ink. I then stamped my images with Versamark ink and used my white embossing powder to heat set it.
I also wanted a little shaker element for my card and immediately thought about creating a mason jar shaker. I used my exact knife to cut out a little window, and adhered acetate to my card using my liquid glue. I adhered the little branches on my mason jar and used foam tape around the edges to create my shaker panel. For my shaker elements, I used seed beads from my stash.
I finished off the design of the card by dry-embossing my card panel, and adhering the flowers and mason jar with my Xyron Mega Tape runner and foam adhesives. I used a banner die to stamp my sentiment for the card. I also used my Spectrum Noir Glitter brush markers to add glitter to my flowers. I know you can’t really see the glitter on the photo but in real life, they are beautiful!
This card is for my Mother:

Last year I colored the hawaiian die flowers with my Distress inks and it was so pretty and as soon as I saw it, I knew you had to use some sort of Distress Ink. The color combination is lovely here! Great job!!!

Ohh Maria… Of course the first thing I notice is your lovely, sweet colors! I love how you sponged and blended the colors for your flowers, great results! And then you made a little shaker with your jar!? That is just too much for me…!!! LOL The plaid paper peeking out a bit is so perfect, too!
