Caffeinated Cat with The Rabbit Hole Designs

Good morning my crafty peeps!  I am so excited to share with you today’s post.  I am so pleased and honored to announce that I have joined the The Rabbit Hole Designs design team. Yay!  Here’s the photo of the announcement the other day!

The Rabbit Hole Designs is a new stamp company.  They have recently launched a couple of stamp sets and I ordered a few of them because I fell in love with the design.  For my card below, I am showcasing the Caffeinated Cat 3×4 stamp set.   When I saw this stamp, I knew I just had to have it.  Honestly, what is not to love?  I adore cats, I love coffee and I love being a mom!  Okay to be honest I used to feel like this cat when my kids were little, haha! and I had a full-time job too!  I don’t even know how I survived those days; I guess I had lots and lots of coffee!

Here’s how I made the card

  • Stamp the image on Neenah solar white card stock (or any card stock you have in  stock) with alcohol friendly ink.
  • Color the image with alcohol markers (or any coloring medium of your choice).
  • Either fussy-cut or die-cut the image using an electronic die-cutting machine. For mine, I used my Scan N Cut 2.
  • Die-cut a piece of Neenah solar white card stock using the wood/floors dies and ink it up with gathered twigs distress oxide ink to make it look like wooden panels.
  • Cut another piece of white card stock and use embossing folder to create the “wallpaper”.
  • Adhere the floor, the moulding and the “wallpaper” on an A2 size card base.  Cut the excess.
  • Die-cut the little decorative frame and little bows on some colored card stock and stamp the sentiment and image on both. Adhere the frames with liquid glue.
  • Adhere the Caffeinated Cat image (ahem, star of the show!) in the middle of the card with foam adhesive to give it dimension.
  • Add the heart embellishment on the coffee cup.
  • Add Sparkling clear jewels and bow on the decorative frame to finish the design.

Everything about this cat just makes me giggle!   The tired look on her face, the bunny slippers and the robe!   I think we can all relate.  Here’s a closer look:

That cat wallpaper just added more cuteness to the whole design, don’t you agree?  The mom cat looked tired but her house is spotless!

What do you think of my card?  Does it make you want to have a cup of coffee?  I hope you like my project today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Note: if you are looking to purchase the Cat Embossing folder, they will be available at Kat Scrappiness next week (she is restocking them).

Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop with CAS-ual Fridays

Hello coffee lovers and CAS-ual Fridays fans!  I am so excited because today, the CFS Ink Squad is collaborating with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers group.  There will be tons of inspiration during this hop and if you leave comments, you will have the chance to win 1 of 3 $25 Gift Certificates.

For my project, I am showcasing the Coffee Cup Fri-Dies, Coffee Talk Stamp Set and the Hot Coffee stamp set.

I started by stamping my image on some smooth white card stock.  I die-cut the image using the Coffee Cup Fri-Dies.  I colored the image with my Copic markers.

I die-cut a piece of some Bristol Smooth white card stock and used a stencil from my stash to color my background.  I used Carved Pumpkin and Wild Honey distress oxide inks.  I smooshed my Vintage Photo distress oxide onto an acrylic block and added water, then used my watercolor brush to splatter some colors on my background.  I adhered the coffee cup onto my card.

The stamp sets that I used for this card are definitely must-haves for any coffee lovers!  I think the sentiments are so funny!  Here’s a little close-up:

I finished my card design by adding some Sparkling Clear Jewels.  Don’t you think the little color splotches look like coffee?  I love how this card turned out.

Coffee Cards with Xyron and Maya Road

Hello crafters and stampers! Today the Xyron design team is teaming up with the amazing Maya Road design team. If you haven’t checked the past posts by my fellow DT members, they have made some wonderful projects that I was “ooh-ing” and “ahh-ing” the last few days.

I am also happy to share that everyday during the blog hop Xyron will be giving away a “sparkly” X sticker maker. Who doesn’t love a sticker maker, right? And best of all it’s sparkly!!!! All you have to do is leave a comment on the Maya Road projects that Xyron had shared on the Facebook page during the hop and Xyron will announce the winner the following morning.

Maya Road is also giving away a $15 gift certificate to their shop. Here’s a link to the Maya Road’s blog for full details:

For my projects, I am showcasing the Enjoy Coffee Die bundle and I made I gift tag and two cards. The tag and the first card did not have any stamping since the die bundle is full of cute dies. I die-cut them all with my Neenah 100 lb. card stock and my patterned paper.

For the gift tag, I wanted to create a shaker tag and decided to use my exacto-knife to cut out the middle portion of the die-cut, adhered the acetate with my Xyron mega runner adhesive, added the foam and used my espresso mix sequins for my shaker elements from Kat Scrappiness.  It turned out really cute!

For my first card, I wanted it to look like the coffee is sitting on top of the table with the little spoon. I used a die from my stash to die-cut the white piece twice. I then used my embossing folder to emboss the first piece, making it look like a lacy, tablecloth. I also used my Xyron creative station to make my own foam adhesive with fun foam. I wanted to give the “tablecloth” a little dimension. I then used my Xyron mega tape runner to adhere everything to my front panel. Here are the step-by-step photos:

For my second card, I used some cute patterned paper and a stamp from my stash. To finish off the design, I used some vellum to die-cut my leafy swirls. I also used my X sticker maker to adhere a vellum bow to the spoon. The sticker maker is the best tool to have when adhering vellum on your projects.  This card will have a Starbuck’s gift card inside.

I hope you like my projects! I have also listed and linked the supplies I have used. Have an amazing day!

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop – KatScrappiness Coffee and You

coffee lovers blog hop logo_spring

It’s that time of the year again and I am so excited to be participating in the “Spring Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop”.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Tsuruta and the rest of her team responsible for facilitating this great hop!  I don’t know how you guys do it but you all rock!

Today I made a card showcasing products from the #KatScrappiness shop (    THERE IS A SPECIAL COUPON CODE at the shop during the duration of the hop only, so hurry and shop for all the crafty products you’ve all wanted to order from the shop (use coupon code: “SPRINGCOFFEE” for 15% off your order).

I started out by stamping my bear image (Gerda Steiner Warm Fuzzies stamp set)  using my stamping tool with memento tuxedo black ink on Neenah Solar White card stock. I colored my image in with my Copic markers, then used my precision cut scissors to fuzzy-cut the image.

Using the largest of the Stitched Fancy Scalloped Rectangle dies, I die-cut my front panel with the Doodlebug Cream & Sugar 6 X 6 paper pad. I also created the half-circle window using a die from my stash.

To finish off my design, I die-cut the trees, stamped my sentiment on the banner, and adhered them all to the card. For my final touch, I used my new favorite, Crystal Nuvo Drops in Dandelion. Here is my card:

Newton Loves Coffee ~ Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It’s that time of the year again and I am so excited to be participating in the “Winter Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop”.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Tsuruta and the rest of her team responsible for facilitating this great hop!  I don’t know how you guys do it but you all absolutely rock!

Today I have made a card showcasing products from the #KatScrappiness store, as a Design Team member.  Incidentally, today is also Kat’s birthday so there is a sale at the shop for all Halloween/Fall/Christmas category for 15% off (no coupon code necessary).  The promo is valid from today until December 11, 2016 (ends at midnight PST).  Here is the link to the shop  You will also get a free bag of jingle bells for every order  during this time frame.

I started out by stamping my image using my stamping tool with memento tuxedo black ink on Neenah Solar White card stock. I colored Newton and the coffee image using my Copic markers W1, W2 and W5, R00, R29 and R39.

I wanted to use warm Christmas colors for this card so I die-cut the front panel using my Gina Marie wonky stitches nesting dies, and the Bo Bunny 6×6 Paper Pad Merry & Bright Collection. Red and Beige just goes so well together.

I also used a wreath die that I recently purchased and embellished it with the new Deck the Halls sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness. I love this new sequin mix.

I finished off the design by adding the snowflake sequin on the coffee mug and Santa hat for Newton. I hope you like my card. Check out the new sequin mixes and script dies available at the shop – they are amazing! The supplies I’ve used are listed and linked below.

MFT Sketch Challenge 281

Another week has passed and there is a new sketch challenge at MFT Stamps no. 281.  I love joining the challenges because it helps me get creative and challenges me to go outside of my comfort zone.

Here is my card for this week’s challenge. It is a tiny shaker card!  I used fun-foam for the whipped cream to make it look realistic.  I used my hot cocoa cups die-namics from MFT Stamps, as well as the banner from Blueprints 27 and the stitch circle die-namics. I only have one coffee-themed stamp set in my stash and that is what I used for this card.

Here is the photo for this week’s sketch challenge in case you’d like to join. Please visit the MFT Blog for more details.

Have a great week!
