Newton’s Nook January Release Day 4 – Newton’s Valentine & Newton’s Crafty Cardio

I always get a bit bummed because it is the last day of the January release.  I hope you guys were able to check out the first three days as we showcased the new stencil, stamps and dies.  Which one is your favorite so far??  You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For the last day of the reveals, we are showcasing the Newton’s Valentine stamp set + coordinating dies with Newton’s Crafty Cardio stamp set + coordinating dies.

For my first card, I inked up some Bristol smooth white card stock with some Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink with my mini ink-blending tools.  I used the Cloudy Sky stencil to add more depth and dimension to my scene.  I die-cut my grass panels using the Land Borders die set.  I also die-cut the rest of the elements that I needed to create my scene with some dies from my stash.

I stamped and colored the images in with my alcohol markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies.  I assembled the card adhering and layering the pieces with some foam and liquid adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkled some embossing powder and heat-set using my heating tool.  Lastly, I stamped the hearts on the clouds with some lobster ink.  Here’s what it looks like:

I did add some glossy accents to the big heart but you can barely see them on the photos.  It is really petty in real life though.

My second card is pretty simple.  I also ink-blended my background with Aged Mahogany distress oxide ink and added the white images by stamping them using Versamark, sprinkling some white embossing powder and heat setting them with my heating tool.  Here’s the second card:

To adorn this card, I added some Pastel Scissors Sequins by Kat Scrappiness.

  3. Both cards are cute but I really love the scene in the first one. Those stenciled clouds in the background are really nice.
