Stock Your Stash Challenge with Reverse Confetti

Hello my crafty friends, it’s a lazy Sunday on my side of the world! The skies are dark and dreary and it’s raining, boo! I figured today is the perfect time to create something extremely colorful and I am joining the Reverse Confetti’s Stock Your Stash Challenge and this month’s theme is “LOVE IS IN THE AIR“.

The Stock Your Stash Challenge link list will be open from the 1st of the month until noon CST on the 29th of the month. Click the “Play Along...” button on our Reverse Confetti’s sidebar to go current link list post. Reverse Confetti stamps and/or Confetti Cuts are required to win. This is a way we get to thank their customers for using their stamps. Anyone is welcome to play, though! You may enter as many times as you wish.Use #SYSChallenge when playing along with this challenge. There will be a random winner selected each month and that person will receive a $20 gift certificate to the Reverse Confetti store. The winner of challenge will be posted on the Reverse Confetti blog at the end of the month.

For my card below, I am showcasing the Large Circle of Hearts Confetti Cuts along with the Valentine Sentiments Stamp Set and the Stitched Daisies Cover Panel Confetti Cuts.

Here’s how I made this card:

  • Adhere each heart on top with foam dots for added dimension.
  • Flip the background panel and add some acetate sheet and foam adhesive to create the shaker well.
  • Add some bokeh sequins as the shaker element. [Designer tip” since the background is already colorful, you don’t need to add more colors to the design.]
  • Adhere the card panel on some top-folding A2-size notecard to close the shaker well.
  • Finish the card design by stamping the sentiment from the Valentine Sentiments Stamp Set with VersaMark ink. Sprinkle some white embossing powder and heat-set with heating tool. Fussy-cut the sentiment with precision snips and adhere on the focal panel.

I hope you like my project and will play along. The supplies are listed and linked below. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Sunday!

NND January Release Day 1 -Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Roses

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and/or stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For the first day of the reveals we are featuring the Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Love Stamp sets, along with the Heart Frames die that also coordinates with the previously released Banner Trio die set.

To make my first card, I started by using the Heart Frames die set to die-cut the scallop heart with some Neenah solar white card stock.  I stamped the image on this piece with some Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I also used the biggest die to die-cut some red card stock.

Next, I used the third stitched die from the set, and die-cut the scallop panel that I previously colored.  I adhered the outer layer on the red card stock with liquid glue, then foam-mounted the middle piece for added dimension.  This gave it some nice layers without overwhelming the whole design.

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink on the sentiment strip that I die-cut using one of the dies from the Banner Trio die set, and adhered with my tape runner in the middle of the card.

The second card is relatively simple but I really LOVE how this one turned out.

I die-cut the scallop frame on some Bristol Smooth white card stock using the scallop doe from the Frames & Flags die set.  I positioned this panel inside my Misti stamping tool and stamped the images twice with some Versafine Onyx black ink.  I colored the images in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.   I forgot how much I love these markers!

I die-cut the arrows using a retired die-set called Points & Plumes and adhered onto the panel with liquid glue for added texture.  I stamped the sentiment on a die-cut strip from the Banner Trio die set, with some Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder, before heat-setting with my heating tool.  I foam-mounted this piece onto the  card.

Lastly, I finished my design by adding some clear mirror confetti dots for added texture.  Here’s another look:

You’re One of a Kind with LDRS Creative

Hello my crafty friends!  Maria Russell with you today on the LDRS blog with a simple “Valentine-themed” card showcasing one of my favorite stamp sets from the shop.  I am featuring the A2 Stitched Layered Card Toppers die setUp & Away stamp set and dies, along with the Rainy Day StencilAnytime Stack stamp setSentiment Stack Coordinating Die and In the Breeze die

Since Valentine’s Day is fast-approaching, I thought I’d get a head start and create some simple cards that you can easily mass-produce to send to friends.  I started by stamping my images on some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Card Stock with Raven Hybrid Ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I used the Up & Away die set to die-cut the images.

Next, I cut a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Card Stock using the A2 Stitched Layered Card Toppers die set.  I started to create my outdoor scene with the Rainy Day Stencil, a blending brush and Pistachios-A-Plenty Hybrid Ink for the grass.  The pink clouds were created with the same Rainy Day Stencil, blending brush and Soft Kisses Hybrid Ink.  I don’t know about you but this color-combo just screams “valentine’s” to me!

I used the In the Breeze die for added texture and adhered this panel on an A2-size card base.

Next, I adhered the images on the card with some liquid glue.  I finished my design by adding the sentiment “You’re One of a Kind“, that was earlier stamped on some black card stock using the Anytime Stack stamp set and Sentiment Stack Coordinating Die.  These stamp-and-die combo is one of my favorites because you can stamp the sentiments and die-cut a bunch with just one pass on your die-cutting machine.  LDRS has a few of these awesome stamps so check them all out at the shop and grab your favorites.

I really love how this card turned out, don’t you?!  The supplies I use are listed and linked below.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love You With All My Heart with LDRS Creative

Hello there and Happy New Year’s eve!  Maria Russell here on the blog with you sharing a cutesy valentine’s card, showcasing the Panda Play stamp set and coordinating dies, along with the Down Main Street Border dieRainy Day stencilDie-licious 6×6 paper padAnytime Stack stamp set and Sentiment Stack die set.
To begin, I stamped the Pandas on some Neenah Solar White card stock with Raven Hybrid Ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.
On another panel of Neenah Solar White card stock, I used the Rainy Day stencil and Soft Kisses Hybrid Ink to create the clouds.
Next, I die-cut the little houses using the Down Main Street Border die.  I covered the holes with yellow card stock to create the illusion of lights coming through, and colored some of the parts with alcohol markers.  I foam mounted this piece on the background for added dimension.
The stripe border is from the LDRS stamp packaging.  I keep a few of these stripe borders in a ziplock so I can use them for my cards as accents here and there.  I also added the black strip of card stock to ground the little houses.  Next, I cut a strip of the beige card stock from the Die-licious 6×6 paper pad and adhered to the card using my ATG tape runner.
I foam-mounted the pandas for added dimension and covered the hearts with glossy accents for added texture and interest.  I finished my design by adding the Anytime Stack stamp set and Sentiment Stack die set.  Here’s another look at my card:

You’ve Got Me Floating On Air with Cas-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!    I’m back today sharing this cute Valentine’s Day card showcasing the Some-bunny and Floating stamp sets by Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.

Before I proceed with my project, I’m just curious.  Who’s going out to dinner tonight to celebrate this occasion?  My hubby and I don’t normally go out on Valentine’s day.  He makes me a special dinner instead and it is sooooo much better than being in a restaurant because he is such a great cook!   For dinner tonight, hubby is making me Roast Duck with Black Cherry sauce.  Yum!
Okay, before I get hungry and start looking for an unhealthy snack, I might as well explain how I made my card.
to begin, I cut a 5 x 7 Bristol smooth white card stock and inked up the panel with my clouds and grass stencils, and distress oxide inks.  I set this panel aside to dry.
I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and used my TriBlend alcohol markers to color them in.  I fussy-cut the images with my Honey Bee scissors and adhered them together with liquid glue.
I adhered the images on the colored panel and added this to a 5×7 card base.
The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.  I foam-mounted this piece on my card to give it more depth & dimension.  Here’s my card:

To finish my design, I adhered the yellow stars and added a red heart on the bunny’s chest.   Here’s a closer look:

I hope you like my Valentine’s card today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code below for 15% off your order.

My Heart Beats For You with Cas-ual Fridays

Hello my crafty peeps! I am also on the Cas-ual Fridays blog today with this super CAS Valentine’s Day card, showcasing the Love Notes stamp set and the Heart Note Fri-Die.

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and I want to get my cards done (and mailed) a few days before the occasion (here’s hoping it reaches the recipient before the actual day!).

The card I made is super simple.  I cut an A2 size Neenah solar white card stock and used my embossing Sizzix 3D embossing folder to dry emboss the card.

I die-cut the Heart Note Fri-Die in different shades of pink and red (should I call this color fifty shades of pink?  haha!).  I adhered and layered the heart notes together using liquid glue.   I foam-mounted this piece on my embossed background.

I added some glossy accents to the red heart for more texture and dimension.  Since you can’t see the gloss on the main photo, here’s a little close-up:

I stamped the sentiment on some black strip.  I sprinkled some embossing powder and heat-set using my Wagner heating tool.  I adhered the sentiment on the card with some liquid adhesive.  Here’s the card:

Simple yet elegant!  Here’s another look:

I hope you like my card today.   The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code (below)  at Cas-ual Fridays for an additional 15% off your order.
