Happy Mother’s Day with the Rabbit Hole Designs

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  It’s Mother’s Day and I hope everyone’s celebrating this day with their loved ones.  For today’s card, I am showcasing the We Are Family stamp set:

Here’s how I made the card:

  • stamp the images on some Neenah classic crest solar white card stock and color it in with alcohol markers (or any medium of your choice).
  • I used a small stamp set from my stash to create the grassy hill, inking it up using my make-up brushes and some Lawn Fawn Celery ink.
  • I also stamped the clouds with Memento Desert Sand ink and colored them with alcohol markers.
  • I used a small “Mom” die to die-cut the background.  I also die-cut a few more and layered them together to make the word “Mom” stand out on the card.

I have been really loving  some clean and simple designs lately.  I hope you like my card today.  Happy crafting!

I started by stamping my images on some Neenah classic crest 110 lb. solar white card stock  with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink (this is an alcohol-friendly ink).  I colored my images in with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend Markers.   I used my make-up brushes with my Clouds stencil to add the clouds on the background.  I masked the bottom and used my make-up brushes again to add the color to make it look like grass.   I added the “pebble stones” by drawing them using the Brown Grey Blend Triblend Markers.

Sorry I was so Crabby

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  I am back today to share another clean and simple card (“CAS”), showcasing the ever-classy, Sofishticated stamp set by the Rabbit Hole Designs.  Here’s what it looks like:

Here’s is my card:

TRHDSofishticated2A

Card recipe:

  • stamp the crab image on some Neenah classic crest solar white card stock and color him in with alcohol markers (or any medium of your choice).
  • use some painter’s tape to mask the spaces between the crab.
  • use the waves stencil with the make-up brush to color in some waves (avoiding the crab image if at all possible).  The ink that I used here is so light that I didn’t really have to mask the image itself.

  • die-cut the “sorry” sentiment using a die from my stash.  Adhere this piece with some liquid adhesive
  • stamp the sentiment “I was so crabby” using Versafine Onyx black in and the card is all finished.  Simple and classy!

Here’s a closer look:

I have been really loving some clean and simple designs lately!  I hope you do as well.  I know a lot of my subscribers are beginners and this is one simple card you can mask-produce.   I hope you like my project today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Have a nice day and happy crafting!

Just a Note with Miss Ink Stamps

It’s week 3 for my guest-design post with Miss Ink Stamps and for today’s card, I am showcasing the Magnolia Sympathy stamp set.  Here’s what it looks like:

magnolia-stamp

I started by stamping my images on some Neenah desert storm card stock with Versamark ink and I heat-embossed this with some white embossing powder.  I die-cut the the flowers using my Brother Scan N Cut 2 machine.  I did the same thing on another Neenah desert stormA2 size panel.  I colored the images in with my Prisma color pencils.

I adhered the die-cut flowers on top of the colored images to give it more dimension.  I stamped the sentiment with some Versamark ink and heat-set it with white embossing powder.  I finished my design by adding some white jewels.  Here’s my card:

MissInkMagnolia1A

Another clean and simple card.  I love that the stamp set is so versatile you can use it for any occasion, not just for sympathy cards.   Here’s a closer look at the beautiful flowers:

Hang in There – Clean & Simple Card with The Rabbit Hole Designs

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  For the past few months, I have been making a lot of very-detailed handmade cards with scenes up the wazoo and I figured sometimes I just need a break from that and create some clean and simple (CAS) cards.  After all, less is more, right?!

For today’s project, I am showcasing the We are Family stamp set.

Here’s my card:

TRHDHangInThereKite1A

Here’s how I made the card:

  • Stamp the kite image on smooth white card stock and color the images in with Copic markers (or any medium of your choice).
  • Die-cut the image with an electronic die-cutting machine or fussy cut with scissors.  I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2.
  • Cut an A2 size piece of smooth white card stock and use the Kites Embossing folder to dry-emboss the background.
  • Die-cut the “Hang In There” sentiment on some black card stock. Die-cut the same on some fun foam and adhere this piece on the black card stock.
  • Adhere the sentiment on the embossed background.
  • Adhere the kite with some liquid adhesive.
  • Finish the design by using Sakura white gel pen to add some lines and dot to the kite.

Here’s a closer look:

This card is super simple, but I really love how it turned out.   I hope you like my card and got inspired.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Have an amazing day and happy crafting!

Farm-themed Cards with Newton’s Nook

Hello Newton’s Nook fans!  Have you seen last week’s April release?  What was your favorite?  I am back today to share with you two farm-themed cards, showcasing the Oink stamp set and coordinating dies with the Moo stamp set and coordinating dies.

Here’s my first card:

NNDOink1A

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with Copic markers.  I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.  I inked up a Bristol smooth white card stock with some Broken China distress oxide inks to create the sky.  I die-cut the rest of the images that I needed and assembled the card.  Here’s a closer look:

NNDOink1B

I absolutely ADORE these little piggies.  I don’t know about you but I think pigs are extremely cute.  A crafty friend of mine has a pet pig and that pig is so smart it makes me want to have one as a pet.

NNDOink1C

For my second project, I did all those steps that I mentioned above.  However for my grass hill and trees, I inked up my Neenah solar white card stock with some freshly cut grass ink using some make-up brushes.  I really love how it turned out.

NNDMoo2A

For my background, I inked up the background with Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar distress oxide inks.  I also used the aged mahogany distress oxide inks to add the colorful speckles.  To create my clouds, I used the Cloudy Sky stencil by Newton’s Nook with some Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink.  Here’s a closer look:

NNDMoo2B

The sentiment was stamped using Aged Mahogany distress oxide ink and “note to self”, next time wait for it to dry before adhering it to the card base.   I smudged the sentiment a little.  I didn’t want all of my efforts to be wasted so I am keeping the card as it is.  To finish the design, I used my Sakura white gel pen to add some dots and lines to the trees to give it a little dimension.  I do LOVE how both cards turned out (with the exception of my little boo-boo!).

NNDMoo2C

I hope you like my cards.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below in case you are interested.  Thank you for stopping by my blog today and happy crafting!
