Get well Soon with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello my crafty friends!  I am back for Newton’s Nook and I have kind of an unusual card, showcasing the Lovely Blooms stamp set and dies, along with Heartfelt Sentiment stamp set & Banner Trio die set.

I have donated a lot of my cards lately and need to replenish my stash and the one thing that I don’t have enough of is “Get Well Soon” cards.   I thought I’d make one today.  I recently watched a YT video by Rebecca Keppel and she showed some techniques on how to color with Distress oxide re-inkers.  Thanks to Rebecca for the idea!

I started by stamping my images on some Neenah Desert Storm card stock with Versamark ink.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.  I drop a few colors of my distress oxide re-inkers on my Tim Holtz Glass Mat and with my watercolor brush, I colored the images one by one.  The re-inkers I used are Broken China, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac and Mowed Lawn.  I built-up the colors by drying in between layers using my heating tool.  Once I achieved the right intensity, I set them aside and started on my background panel.

The background was very simple to achieve.  I stamped the images on some A2 size panel of Neenah Desert Storm card stock with Versamark ink.  I put a few drops of white paint on my stamping block and used my watercolor brush to splatter on the background for added texture.  Next, I foam-mounted the biggest image on the card and added the layers with liquid glue.  I added them randomly all over the card and whatever excess that I cut, I adhered them back to the panel to fill in some empty spaces.   I added the sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments that I heat-embossed with white embossing powder, and die-cut with the Banner Trio die.  I finished my design by adding some Clear Mirrored Confetti Dots for more texture.  Here’s another look:

Thanks for stopping by.  The full supplies list is listed and linked below.  Have an amazing day!
