Before I share my project, Newton’s Nook is also having a “Deck the Halls with Inky Paws SALE!”. Take advantage of this SALE and grab your favorites now!
For my card today, I am showcasing the Winter Birds Stamp Set and coordinating dies with the Pines & Holly Die Set and Starfield 6×6 Stencil (one of my all-time favorite stencils).
Here’s how I made this card:
- Use a circle die to cut out some masking paper.
- Adhere masking paper to an A2-size panel of Neenah Solar white card stock.
- Ink-blend the panel with Spectrum Noir Water reactive Inks in Straw Bale, Pink Tulip and Fuschia.
- Use the Starfield Stencil and apply texture paste using a palette knife to add interest and texture to the background.
- Remove the masking paper and let the panel dry for about half an hour.
- Stamp the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and color the images in with alcohol markers.
- Die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.
- Adhere the images onto the panel using both foam and liquid adhesives.
- Add the pine boughs die-cut using the Pines & Holly Die Set.
- Finish the card design by stamping the sentiment with VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.

Deck the Halls with Inky Paws Blog Hop List:
Hello my crafty peeps! Today, the Newton’s Nook Design Team is joining Tracey McNeely of www.inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.ca for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. You will find lots of inspiration from the team and there is also a GIVEAWAY! Please go to Tracy’s blog post for all the details about the prizes and the giveaway!
For my tags below, I am showcasing the Winter Birds stamp set and coordinating dies along with the Holiday Greetings Die set and Pines & Holly die set.
To make the tags, I started by stamping my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.
Next, I die-cut the wood slices and the tags using some dies from my collection and the pine boughs using the Pines & Holly die set. I adhered the wood slices, berries and the pine boughs for added texture and interest. The birds were foam-mounted on the tags for added dimension.
I finished my design by adding the silk ribbon, twine and jingle bells then adhered the “be merry” die-cut sentiment using the Holiday Greetings die set. Here’s another look:
I hope you like my tags today. The supplies I use are listed and linked below. Please visit Tracey McNeely’s blog post –www.inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.ca to find out more info about the giveaway and to check out the other tags created by the design team. Have an amazing day and happy stamping!

For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Poinsettia Blooms and Winter Birds stamp set plus the coordinating dies. Here’s what they look like:
Just like I said yesterday since we are featuring a couple of products each day, I will not have any tutorials. If you have any questions or would like to see how I made it, please leave me a message below.
At first, I colored the poinsettia images in pink but I didn’t like how it turned out so I used my red Copic markers to layer on top of the pink. For this card, I also used my all-time favorite Pines & Holly die set and added the berries from the Winter Birds stamp set. For my sentiment I used the Ornamental Wishes stamp set, released last month. Here’s a little close-up:
Jennifer was just so kind because she sent us this PDF document that identifies the birds and what they look like in real life.
Here’s how I colored mine:
I just LOVE cardinals! They are so pretty and in my opinion, they are a symbol of the holidays! For my card, I used the Pines & Holly die set once again to decorate my branch and the Festive Forest stamp set for the trees. Here’s a little close-up:
