Love & Meows SKETCH CARD

Love is in the air and I am busy creating Valentine’s Day Cards. What have you all been up to? If you haven’t seen the new release by Newton’s Nook Designs, y’all need to head on over there and check out all the new products, including the new Love & Meows Paper Pad.

I found a few card sketches while browsing on Pinterest so I thought I’d give it a try today. I don’t normally create sketch cards because mixing patterns is not my thing; but when you have a really cute pattern paper such as the Love & Meows Paper Pad, you can’t help but show it off!

Here’s how I made this card:

  • Stamp the image from the Knead Kittens stamp set on some X-Press It Blending Card and color the image in with alcohol markers.
  • Use the Knead Kittens coordinating die to cut the image.
  • Cut some red card stock measuring 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 and adhere on an A2-size notecard.
  • Cut a few pieces of pattern paper from the Love & Meows Paper Pad and adhere to the card.
  • Use a scallop border from your collection and die-cut some dark pink card stock. [Designer tip: this will create a smooth transition between the patterns.]
  • Die-cut a small stitched rectangle with some Neenah solar white card stock. Matt this piece on some dark pink card stock that matches the scallop border. Adhere this panel on the card front.
  • Adhere the focal image on the card for added dimension.
  • Stamp the sentiment with VersaFine Clair ink in Black
  • Finish the card design by adding some heart enamel dots with liquid glue.

This card is easy, peasy! I may have to start making sketch cards more often since this took about less than 30 minutes, and it can easily be mass-produced! What do you think?

I hope I’ve given you some great inspiration today using the new products from the January release by Newton’s Nook Designs. The supplies I used are listed and linked below. Thanks for stopping by!

You’ve Got Me Floating On Air with Cas-ual Fridays Stamps

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!!    I’m back today sharing this cute Valentine’s Day card showcasing the Some-bunny and Floating stamp sets by Cas-ual Fridays Stamps.

Before I proceed with my project, I’m just curious.  Who’s going out to dinner tonight to celebrate this occasion?  My hubby and I don’t normally go out on Valentine’s day.  He makes me a special dinner instead and it is sooooo much better than being in a restaurant because he is such a great cook!   For dinner tonight, hubby is making me Roast Duck with Black Cherry sauce.  Yum!
Okay, before I get hungry and start looking for an unhealthy snack, I might as well explain how I made my card.
to begin, I cut a 5 x 7 Bristol smooth white card stock and inked up the panel with my clouds and grass stencils, and distress oxide inks.  I set this panel aside to dry.
I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and used my TriBlend alcohol markers to color them in.  I fussy-cut the images with my Honey Bee scissors and adhered them together with liquid glue.
I adhered the images on the colored panel and added this to a 5×7 card base.
The sentiment was stamped with Versamark ink.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.  I foam-mounted this piece on my card to give it more depth & dimension.  Here’s my card:

To finish my design, I adhered the yellow stars and added a red heart on the bunny’s chest.   Here’s a closer look:

Valentine’s Day Card with Puppy Playtime by Newton’s Nook

Aaah! L’amore!  I love crafting this time of the month.  My craft desk  is full of my favorite things like hearts and sprinkles and love-themed stamps!  I just LOVE creating Valentine-themed cards and my project today showcases the Puppy Playtime stamp set and coordinating dies.

To begin, I stamped the puppy images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in using my Spectrum Noir Classique and TriBlend markers.  I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.

At first, I wanted to ground my puppies by creating a landscape background using some stencils and dies.  However, I wanted to use some amazing patterned papers that I recently purchased when I was back home.  If you have been following me for while, you know that I don’t use a lot of patterned papers on my projects; it’s just not my style!  However, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something new.   I chose some cute designs and cut them into strips and layered them onto my card base.  I also die-cut a nice scallop trim to adhere at the bottom of the card.

I adhered the puppy images on the card with some liquid adhesive.  The XOXO letters were die-cut using the Essential Alphabet die set and also adhered using liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment with some Versafine Onyx black ink.

To finish my design, I use some Nuvo crystal drops in Bubblegum Pink.   Here’s a closer look:

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the Tides of Love stamp set + coordinating dies with the Bokeh Hearts Stencil.

To begin, I sprayed my stencil with Pixie spray and cut an A2 size piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock.  I layered stencil no. 1 from the new Bokeh Hearts stencil and used my blending tool and fog ink to add the first set of hearts on my background.  I used stencil no. 2 and Pumice stone distress oxide ink to add the second layer of hearts.

Next, I used some scalloped heart die from my stash to die-cut my ink-blended background.  I also die-cut another heart with some pink card stock and added some texture to this using the Waves stencil with Worn lipstick distress oxide ink.  Since my background is pretty neutral, I wanted to make my focal point stand out.

I foam-mounted the neutral background on a side fold card base and inlaid my focal piece with liquid adhesive.  I stamped and colored my image with my alcohol markers and used the coordinating die to cut this piece.  I foam mounted this image onto my card.

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkled some embossing powder, then heat-set using my heating tool.  I added some white heart sprinkles to adorn the card and glossy accents to the heart for more texture and dimension.  Here’s a closer look:

Happy Valentine’s Day Card with Cas-ual Fridays

Hello CFS fans! Maria here on the blog with you today, sharing a Valentine’s Day shaker card, showcasing the Hearts A2 Panel Fri-die and the sentiment is from the Love Notes stamp set.

To begin, I started off ink-blending a rainbow background on Bristol smooth white card stock with Distress Oxide inks in Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Worn Lipstick, Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves.

I die-cut my ink-blended panel with the Hearts A2 Panel Fri-die.  I adhered some acetate sheet on this piece and added foam adhesive to create my shaker panel.

I added some rainbow confetti dots as my shaker element and adhered the panel on top of an A2-size black card base.

I stamped the sentiment on a black strip with versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder.  I used my heating tool to heat emboss the sentiment and adhered this piece on my card with my tape runner.  Here’s what it looks like:

The black background just made the rainbow panel pop.  Here’s a closer look:
