Walking Woofs stamp set & coordinating dies

I am so IN-LOVE with this stamp set.  I am a dog/pet lover and when I saw this set, my heart just melted!   If hubby and I only have about about 5 acres of land, we will definitely own a dozen of dogs, 4 cats, a couple of chickens, a pigmy Llama, some guinea pigs and a Cockatoo.  Haha!   You can never have too much happy, indeed!

NNDWalkingWoofs1A

How I made the card:

  • stamp the images on Neenah solar white card stock and color the images in with alcohol markers.  I used my Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers and Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
  • use my “handmade stencil” die-cut from the Sky Borders die to add the sky with some make-up brushes and light blue ink.

IMG_2090

  • use another stencil from my stash to add the grass with some Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink.
  • stamp the sentiment on the card with some black ink.
  • color some card stock using the Spectrum Noir Orange Blend TriBlend markers and die-cut the word Happy from the die-set.
  • adhere this piece on the card with some liquid glue.
  • finish the design by adding some red hearts.

Here’s a closer look:

I don’t usually make one-layer cards but this image is so BEAUTIFUL I didn’t think it needed anything more!

For the last day of the reveals, the design team is showcasing the Newton’s Birdhouse stamp set and coordinating dies, with the Mother’s Day and Father’s Day minis tamp sets.  Here’s what they look like:

NNDAPR19_MiniStamps

Here’s my first card with the Newton’s Birdhouse stamp set:

NNDNewtonsBirdhouse1A

Here’s how I made my card:

  • stamp and color the image with Copic markers (or any coloring medium of your choice)
  • die-cut the image using the coordinating dies.
  • cut an A2 size of Bristol smooth white card stock and ink up the background with different distress oxide inks.
  • die-cut the picket fence with some white card stock.  Cut the picket fence to create two small ones.
  • ink up another piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock using mowed lawn distress oxide inks.
  • use the grass border die to die-cut this piece.
  • use a stitched die to create the flying pattern for the bird.
  • use the little dots from the Tranquil Tides stamp set to stamp onto the background.
  • assembled the card.

Here’s a closer look:

NNDNewtonsBirdhouse1B

I finished my design by adding some white dots on the birdhouse using my Sakura white gel pen.

NNDNewtonsBirdhouse1C

For my second project, I created a one-layer card using the Mother’s Day mini stamp set and some images from the Cottage Garden stamp set, with some pastel-color inks.

NNDMothersDay1A

I added glossy accents to the flower to give it a little shine and dimension.  I love creating backgrounds using small stamp sets.

NNDMothersDay1B

For my third project, I created another one-layer card using the Father’s Day stamp set and some images from the Tranquil Tides stamp set.

NNDFathersDay1A

I really think the images on the Tranquil Tides stamp set went perfectly well with the Father’s Day mini stamp.  I finished my design by adhering starfishes with some foam adhesive and adding glossy accents to the card.

NNDFathersDay1B

For my card below, I also used the Bokeh stencil set.  This card is really simple but I LOVE how this one turned out.

  • cover a piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock with some painter’s tape.  (This card stock measured 3 1/4 x 5 1/2).

  • adhere some black and white patterned paper on the side.

Newton’s Nook Designs February Release – Day 4 – Spring Pile Up & Puppy Pals

NNDReleaseIcon_Feb19

I am a bit bummed because it is the last day of the February reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   Were you able to check out the first three days of the reveal?   Which one is your favorite so far?  You have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For the last day of the reveals, the design team is showcasing TWO mini stamp sets with its coordinating dies:

NNDFEB19_SpringPileUp
SPRING PILE UP STAMP SET & DIES
NNDFEB19_PuppyPals
PUPPY PALS STAMP SET & DIES

Here’s how I made my first card:

  • stamp and color the images with Copic markers (or any coloring medium of your choice)
  • die-cut the image using the coordinating dies.
  • use inkadinkado masking paper to mask off part of the card stock.
  • use the handmade clouds stencil made from the clouds border die and ink up the background.
  • stamp the sentiment on the colored background and adhere the image on on top.
  • cut the colored card stock and adhere on the card base.  Also adhere a rainbow patterned paper at the bottom of the card base. Finish this piece with some black strip card stock.

NNDSpringPileUp1A

I felt that the left side of the card was missing something so I added the pastel stars from Kat Scrappiness to adorn the card.  I think it turned out great.  Here’s a closer look:

NNDSpringPileUp1B

This card is really clean and simple but I like it a lot.  Here’s another look:

NNDSpringPileUp1C

Here’s how I made my second project:

  • stamp and color the image on some smooth white card stock. die-cut the image using the coordinating die.
  • use the paw prints and ribbon images from the Terrific Terriers stamp set and stamp them using versamark ink on bristol smooth card stock.
  • sprinkle white embossing powder and heat-set with the heating tool.
  • ink up this bristol smooth card stock with distress oxide inks.
  • wipe the embossed images with paper towel to make them white again.
  • die-cut the rest of the card stock to assemble the card.

NNDPuppyPals1A

This image is sooooo cute!  I also LOVE that the coordinating die, die-cuts the middle space between the two dogs!  It’s a definite must-have for sure.  You can use this stamp set for any occasion and the possibilities are endless.  Here’s a closer look of the puppies:

NNDPuppyPals1B

Aren’t they adorable?  I also love the rainbow colored background and it really made them stand out.

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release – Beautiful Plumage

NND_ReleaseIconApril17

Hello my crafty peeps! It is the first day of the April release at Newton’s Nook Designs.   I always get excited during release week and it never cease to amaze me how Jennifer come up with amazing stamps and dies month after month. You will absolutely LOVE this month’s stamp release!  You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post. [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you for understanding and I apologize for the confusion.]

For today’s project, I am showcasing the Beautiful Plumage stamp set and its coordinating dies.  This Beautiful Plumage stamp set and coordinating dies will be available for purchase on Friday, April 14, at 8:00 a.m. CST.

NND_17April_BeautifulPlumage

I stamped my peacock on Neenah solar white card stock and colored my images in with my Copic markers. I also wanted to highlight the swirls on the peacock so I used my Sakura gel pen, and used my gold stickles to add a whimsical touch to the simple coloring and make the image pop.

I have a clouds border die from my stash that I use as stencil to add some cloud images on my front panel. Using my sponge and broken china distress ink, I lightly sponged the color on my card stock to create the look of the clouds.  I then dry-embossed my card stock with my embossing folder and die-cut the window with a die from my stash.  I knew I wanted some branches and flowers for my peacock and so I die-cut a bunch of those branches from a Cherry Blossom die-set by Spellbinders.  I made the flowers pop by using the end of my marker and pushing it in on a foam pad to make it look more realistic.  I adhered the images with my Xyron mega runner and liquid glue.

Here’s my card:

KatScrappiness & Newton’s Nook Breast Cancer Awareness Card Challenge

Hello stampers and crafters! I am back today to share a card that I have made for the Kat Scrappiness and Newton’s Nook Breast Cancer Awareness Card challenge. The only requirement to join the challenge is to create a card with an encouraging/supportive message.

I started out by stamping the feathers using my Virginia Turtle stamp set called “Radiate Positivity” onto vellum card stock using my Versamark Ink. I then used my white embossing powder and heat-set the image. I used my precision scissors to fuzzy-cut the image and set it aside.

I die-cut my card panel using my scallop border die from Lawn Fawn and my peek-a-boo scallop die from MFT Stamps. I covered the window with some clear acetate and used my scotch foam adhesive to create my shaker panel. At this point, I used my stampoholic nano to stamp my sentiment on the front panel.

I wanted to use soft colors for my card and decided to use a mixture of 3 gorgeous sequins and confetti mix from Kat Scrappiness (6 mm powder pink, crystal clear flower blossom and pink flamingo confetti mix). I then adhered my shaker panel to my card base.

img_2388

I finished the design by adhering the vellum feathers on the top of my peek-a-boo shaker window, and topped-it off with my pink ribbon, and also added some white diamond sequins to the front of the card.

img_2390

I hope you like what I created. Here is the photo of the challenge in case you would like to participate and win some prizes.
