NND November Release – Day 1 – Cup of Cocoa and Frozen Fellowship Card

NNDReleaseIcon_NOV17

It is the first day of the November release by Newton’s Nook Designs and we are showcasing a couple of stamps and dies for you.  The Cup of Cocoa stamp set and coordinating dies, with the Frozen Fellowship stamp set, as well as the amazing Fancy Edges tag die and the Frames and Flags Die.  You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you for understanding and I apologize for the confusion.]

For my projects today, I used both stamp sets and also the new stand-alone dies.  I JUST LOVE THEM! They are so versatile!  Here’s what they look like:

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.  I also die-cut the tags on 110 white card stock, as well as patterned paper.  I wanted to use the edge dies to create some added dimension and details to my tags.  Here are the tags:

NNDHotCocoa

For my card, I stamped the image on Neenah solar white and decided to just color one snowman.  I wanted him to stand out from the rest of the image.  I also used the Frames and Flags die to die-cut a Bristol Smooth white card stock measuring 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.  I colored my card front  with my favorite Broken China Distress Oxide Ink using my blending tool.  I spritzed it with water and dabbed it with my paper towel.  I adhered the image to the colored background.  I also heat embossed my sentiment to finish my design.  Here’s what the card looks like:

NNDFrozenFellowship

I hope you got inspired this week and love the projects we all shared.  Would you like to win the “Cup of Cocoa” or the “Frozen Fellowship” Stamp Set?  Each of these stamp sets will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

I also cut a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ to stamp my stars and draw the dots with my versamark ink and versamark pen. I covered them with my white embossing powder and heat-set it. I then used my distress oxide inks to color my background to create a night-sky.

I marked the position of where the battery was going to go on my card base, and also marked the “+” and “-“ placement of the circuit lines. Before I finalized the design and adhered my card front, I wanted to make sure that the lights worked first:

Newton’s Nook Designs 4-year celebration ~ Day 1

NND_July17_4yr

Hello my crafty peeps! It is the first day of the July release at Newton’s Nook Designs.   I always get excited during release week. You will absolutely LOVE this month’s stamp release!  I know I always say that but it is the absolute truth.  You also have a chance to win a $20 store credit during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on WordPress is being viewed. I have to apologize that I will only be able to post my projects today and tomorrow, and will not be able to participate in the blog hop on Friday, July 14th.  I had to travel for a family emergency concerning my father-in-law and will not be available for the rest of the month.  Please check out the design team’s projects this week for more inspiration.

Since this is Newton’s Nook Design’s 4-year anniversary, we will be showcasing a lot of products on the first day.  THEY RE AMAZING!!!!!

For today’s project, I am showcasing the Winston’s Lakehouse and Lake Advice stamp sets and its coordinating dies, Sea Borders Dies, and the new stencils.  Here they are:

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers. I also die-cut my card front with dies that I have from my stash.  After coloring the images, I ran it through my die-cutting machine using its coordinated dies.

I used my ink blending tool and my distress oxide inks to blend the colors on my card stock.  I sprayed water on my stencil and placed the wet stencil on top of the card stock, then wiped it with paper towel.  The distress ink reacted to the water and created this beautiful background for my card, without losing the details made by the stencil.  I also used the ocean border die to create the wave impression on my card front.  Here is my card showcasing Winston’s Lakehouse:

Here is my second card showcasing the Lake Advice stamp set:

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release – Beautiful Plumage

NND_ReleaseIconApril17

Hello my crafty peeps! It is the first day of the April release at Newton’s Nook Designs.   I always get excited during release week and it never cease to amaze me how Jennifer come up with amazing stamps and dies month after month. For today’s project, I am showcasing the Beautiful Plumage stamp set and its coordinating dies.  This Beautiful Plumage stamp set and coordinating dies will be available for purchase on Friday, April 14, at 8:00 a.m. CST.

NND_17April_BeautifulPlumage

I stamped my peacock on Neenah solar white card stock and colored my images in with my Copic markers. I also wanted to highlight the swirls on the peacock so I used my Sakura gel pen, and used my gold stickles to add a whimsical touch to the simple coloring and make the image pop.

I have a clouds border die from my stash that I use as stencil to add some cloud images on my front panel. Using my sponge and broken china distress ink, I lightly sponged the color on my card stock to create the look of the clouds.  I then dry-embossed my card stock with my embossing folder and die-cut the window with a die from my stash.  I knew I wanted some branches and flowers for my peacock and so I die-cut a bunch of those branches from a Cherry Blossom die-set by Spellbinders.  I made the flowers pop by using the end of my marker and pushing it in on a foam pad to make it look more realistic.  I adhered the images with my Xyron mega runner and liquid glue.

Here’s my card:

Newton’s Nook Designs February Release – Day 3 – Newton Loves Cake

nnd_feb17_releaseicon

Hello everyone!  It is the last day of the February release at Newton’s Nook Designs.  If you haven’t checked out yesterday’s post, please do so to see the amazing projects created by our design team members. [ Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on WordPress is being viewed. All the new stamps and coordinating dies will be available for purchase tomorrow, February 17th.  You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.

For today’s post, I have created a birthday card, showcasing the new stamp set called Newton Loves Cake and Newton Loves Cake coordinating dies.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock, with my memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored the images with my Copic markers and die-cut them using the coordinating dies.

I die-cut my card panel and distressed the background using my favorite distress inks – Spun Sugar and Shaded Lilac.  For the second card, I used Spun Sugar and Evergreen Bough.  I wanted to use some soft pastel colors for these two birthday cards.

To finish the design, I die-cut a rectangle frame to create a window, adding the banner to the frame.  I stamped my sentiment and adhered the 3 silver stars.  I also used my white gel pen to add some white dots to the card, making it look more whimsical.

Here’s the first card:

nndnewtonlovescake2

And here’s the second card I designed with the same concept but different shape and colors.  I wanted to really show off this stamp set by creating more than one sample for you.  The possibilities are endless using this stamp set!

nndnewtonlovescake1

What do you guys think? I hope you like the birthday cards. This Newton Loves Cake stamp set and coordinating dies will be available for purchase on Friday, February 17, at 8:00 a.m. CST.

Would you like to win the “Newton Loves Cake” Stamp Set?  This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!
