Laminated Planner Insert with Xyron Creative Station Lite

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are having a fabulous week so far. I’m back today for Xyron and I have a cute project to show you, using the Creative Station Lite, with a double-sided laminate cartridge.

I have always loved to decorate my planner. If my planner looks organized and beautiful, I get inspired to use it more. Write my thoughts down and update my schedule.

As soon as I open my planner, I would like to see something inspiring, something beautiful. Most of the times the cover that you get when you purchase your planner is plain and boring ~ so I decided to create my own planner insert.

I started out by cutting a Bristol Smooth white card stock measuring 4 ¼ by 6 ¾. I am using my favorite combination of distress oxide inks for galaxy backgrounds (i.e., fossilized amber, picked raspberry, wilted violet, broken china and black soot). Using my mini-ink blending tools, I started to sponge the fossilized amber in the middle, then blended the rest of the distress oxide colors onto my card stock.

I used my distress sprayer to spray some water on my colored background to achieve the distress look, dabbing the excess water droplets with a paper towel. They look like stars in the sky!

I stamped by images using a stamp set by Hero Arts onto my colored card stock with memento tuxedo black ink. To add the stars, I stamped them with versa mark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder. I also added the sentiment “We’re All Made of Stardust”. To finish the design, I added some gold star confetti.

Using my Creative Station Lite with a double-sided laminate cartridge, I inserted my decorated planner insert through the machine, cranked the handle, and cut it through using the trimmer on the other side. Here’s what it looks like once it’s fully laminated. I really love that you can use laminate projects using this machine without having to use heat or electricity.  I trimmed the excess with my scissors.

I used my We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes on my planner insert. Here’s what it looks like inside my travel planner.

Prayers & Hugs Coming Your Way

Hello everyone! It’s Maria Russell here with you today. It’s been awhile since I made a project for Kat Scrappiness. I was traveling for two weeks and if you have been following me here on my blog, you’ll probably know that I got sick. I am on the mend now but it is taking a lot longer than expected which is making me a little miserable!

I apologize that I don’t have a process video for you today because it takes awhile for me to create a project right now. I can’t sit still for so long and look down so I constantly take a break and walk so I don’t get any pains. Please bear with me as I get better and I promise to make more process videos once I am over this hump.

For my shaker card today, I am showcasing the Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy Stamps and Dies, the Prayers Stamps and Die set, with the Wood Floorboard Prints Cling stamp, as well as the White Diamond sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness, and a lot more supplies available at Kat Scrappiness online store.

I started out by stamping and layering my images on Neenah solar white card stock using three Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers, Guava and Lobster ink. I die-cut the flowers using the coordinating dies.

I stamped my background using the wood floorboard cling stamp with light- gray ink. I wanted a subtle background for my card because I wanted the main focal point to stand out, which are the poppies!

I die-cut the prayers die using a dark gray card stock, and stamped my sentiment using the Hippo Ink on my card front.

I ran my flowers, branches and die cut sentiment using my favorite Xyron sticker maker and Mega Tape Runner. I also adhered my acetate sheet using glue dots, and created my shaker window panel with scotch foam tape. I added my favorite White Diamond sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness and adhered my window panel to my card base.

I finished off my design by sponging my Neenah white card stock with the Tim Holtz worn lipstick distressed oxide ink to match the color of the dot details on my shaker card.

Here is the card. I hope you like it and got inspired today. The supplies I have used are listed and linked below. Have a great weekend!

Newton Loves Coffee ~ Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

winter-coffee-lovers-blog-hop

It’s that time of the year again and I am so excited to be participating in the “Winter Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop”.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Tsuruta and the rest of her team responsible for facilitating this great hop!  I don’t know how you guys do it but you all absolutely rock!

Today I have made a card showcasing products from the #KatScrappiness store, as a Design Team member.  Incidentally, today is also Kat’s birthday so there is a sale at the shop for all Halloween/Fall/Christmas category for 15% off (no coupon code necessary).  The promo is valid from today until December 11, 2016 (ends at midnight PST).  Here is the link to the shop http://www.katscrappiness.com/?aff=21  You will also get a free bag of jingle bells for every order  during this time frame.

I started out by stamping my image using my stamping tool with memento tuxedo black ink on Neenah Solar White card stock. I colored Newton and the coffee image using my Copic markers W1, W2 and W5, R00, R29 and R39.

I wanted to use warm Christmas colors for this card so I die-cut the front panel using my Gina Marie wonky stitches nesting dies, and the Bo Bunny 6×6 Paper Pad Merry & Bright Collection. Red and Beige just goes so well together.

I also used a wreath die that I recently purchased and embellished it with the new Deck the Halls sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness. I love this new sequin mix.

I finished off the design by adding the snowflake sequin on the coffee mug and Santa hat for Newton. I hope you like my card. Check out the new sequin mixes and script dies available at the shop – they are amazing! The supplies I’ve used are listed and linked below.
