Bright Birthday Wishes Card with Newton’s Nook Designs

I have been building up my stash of birthday cards and today’s project features the recently released Newton’s Birthday Delights Stamp Set + Coordinating Dies along with the Bright Sentiments Hot Foil Plate and Banner Duo Die Set by Newton’s Nook Designs.

Here’s how I made this card:

  • die-cut some pattern paper that compliments the color of the stamp images using the smaller scallop die from the Circle Frames Die Set. Adhere the scallops on the notecard with tape runner.
  • die-cut the rectangle frame using the small reverse scallop frame from the Framework Die Set and add some vellum to diffuse the busy pattern behind. Use sequins for the shaker element and foam-mount this panel on the foreground.
  • adhere the image on the card with foam adhesive for added dimension.
  • adhere the sentiment with foam and liquid adhesive.
  • finish the design by adding some yellow enamel dots.

I hope you like this card today and got inspired. The supplies I used are highlighted and linked within the context of this blog post. Where available, I use compensated affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Your support helps me to keep bringing you new projects and inspiration. Thank you for stopping by, and have an amazing day!

For Day 4, we are showcasing the Newton’s Hanging Basket Stamp Set and Newton’s Hanging Basket Coordinating Dies.

The background was made by inking up a panel of Bristol Smooth White Card Stock with Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed.

Leave the ink-blended panel to dry for about 20 minutes then use the Tropical Leaves Stencil and apply some Ranger Distress Matte Texture Paste using some Palette Knife. This will add a lot of texture to the focal panel. Allow this to dry for another half an hour and adhere on some top-folding notecard.

Next, create the frame by using the Reverse Scallop Frame from the Framework Die Set and adhere some Vellum for added texture. Foam-mount this frame onto the card for more dimension.

Stamp the image on some Neenah Solar White Card stock and color the images in with alcohol markers. Use the coordinating die to die-cut the image and adhere on the focal panel.

NND OCTOBER Release Day 1 – SNOW MUCH CHEER & NEWTON’S STOCKING + MEOWY CHRISTMAS PAPER PACK

Hello and Welcome to the Newton’s Nook October Release. I am so excited to show off the new holiday-themed products by Newton’s Nook Designs.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set & Coordinating Dies, Newton’s Stocking Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies along with the ADORABLE Meowy Christmas Paper Pack!

For my first project, I started by stamping my images from the Newton’s Stocking stamp set on Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the image. I also stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat-set with my heating tool.

To add some festive touch to this design, I added stickles to Newton’s hat and the stocking. I set this image aside to let it dry while I work on the background.

The background was very simple to create. I die-cut some white card stock using a rectangle frame from my collection. I cut this piece and used an embossing folder to create dimension. I adhered this on an A2-size white notecard. I also used the same frame to die-cut a few pieces of the pattern paper from the Meowy Christmas Paper Pack as well as some black strip. I must admit, this Meowy Christmas Paper Pack is just so pretty, it was really hard for me to cut them out. I feel like the images should just be framed!

I wanted my focal point to stand out so I die-cut the scallop frame from the Framework Die Set. I covered the back with vellum and foam-mounted this on my card front. I adhered some pine needles that I die-cut from the Pines & Holly Die Set and added Newton in the middle of the frame with liquid glue.

For my next card, I repeated the process I just mentioned above, coloring the images and die-cutting them out. I opted for some light colors to color them in.

Next, I die-cut the all the components to create my scene –> Pine trees from the Forest Scene Builder Die Set using the Meowy Christmas Paper Pack, snowbank using the Land Border and Sea Border Die Set, with the red bow from the Baby Bib Die Set. I also ink-blended the background with some distress oxide ink and adhered this panel on some A2-size notecard.

I assembled the card by adding the circle frame panel with some foam adhesive for added dimension. I also added the trees, then the colored images with either foam adhesive or liquid glue.

I finished my card design by stamping the sentiment “Let It Snow” using some Spectrum Noir quick Dry Dye Ink in Midnight and colored the snowflakes and “Snow” with some light blue alcohol marker. I’ve added some white pearls for more texture.

Would you like to win the “Snow Much Cheer” or the “Newton’s Stocking” Stamp Set?  We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Here’s how to win: Comment on the NND blog and Design Team blogs (see list below)! The winner will be chosen at random from the collective reveal posts. Newton’s Nook Designs February Release – Day 1 – Loads of Blooms and Flower Trio Die

NNDReleaseIcon_Feb19

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off  the new stamps, dies and stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs.   You also have a chance to win a stamp set for each reveal day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the following products:

NNDFEB19_LoadsofBlooms
LOADS OF BLOOMS STAMP SET & COORDINATING DIES

NNDFEB19_FlowerTrio
FLOWER TRIO DIE SET

NNDFEB19_BoldBlooms
BOLD BLOOMS STENCIL

NNDFEB19_BokehStencilSet
BOKEH STENCIL SET

For my first project, here’s how I made the card:

  • stamp the images on smooth white card stock.  The butterflies I added for my scene are from the Newton’s Birdbath stamp set.
  • color the image using Copic markers or any coloring medium of your choice.
  • die-cut the image with the coordinating dies.
  • die-cut the birch trees using the Forest Scene Builder dies and the grassy hill with the land border die.
  • die-cut the rest of the elements needed to create the scene.
  • ink up the background on Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks using the Sunscape stencil.  Spray the background with water and dab it dry with a paper towel.
  • assemble the card on an A2 size white card base.
  • Finish the design by stamping the sentiment and add a pink heart.

NNDLoadsofBloom1A

I just love this image so much!  It reminds me of those times back when I was a child and my sisters and I were riding our bicycles, gathering flowers around the area.  Those were simple times that I will always cherish forever.  Here’s a closer look:

NNDLoadsofBloom1B

I would never trade in those times where my friends and I just enjoyed being kids, riding our bikes, playing games and not wanting to come home when it’s starting to get dark because of dinner.  I am certainly thankful we didn’t have smart phones and computer games back then.

NNDLoadsofBloom1C

For my second project, I used the Flower Trio die, Bokeh Stencil set and the Bold Blooms stencil.  Here’s how I made the card:

  • Ink up some Bristol smooth white card stock using different pastel distress oxide inks with the Bokeh stencil set.
  • Die-cut the flowers using the Flower Trio Die.

IMG_1038

  • Use a stamping mat and bone folder to shape the flowers and give it a little dimension.  If you have a round stylus, it’s better.

IMG_1039

  • Ink up some Bristol smooth white card stock using distress oxide inks and the bold blooms stencil.  Spray water and dab it dry with some paper towel. Use clear sequins as shaker element.

IMG_1037

  • die-cut the diagonal die coverplate and adhere acetate sheet.  Add foam adhesive to create the shaker well and adhere on top of the background.

IMG_1040

  • adhere the flowers and leaves on the card and finish the design by adding the script sentiment die.

NNDFlowerTrioDie1A

Since I used clear sequins as my shaker element, the die-cut flowers really stood out on this card design.  I also added the Crystal clear jewels in the middle of the flowers.  Here’s a closer look:

NNDFlowerTrioDie1B

I really LOVE how this card turned out.  The Flower Trio die set is a must-have for sure. You can even decorate your Spring wreath using this die.  The possibilities are endless!  Here’s another look:

NNDFlowerTrioDie1C

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 4 – My Type and Candy Heart

nndreleaseicon_jan19

I am a bit bummed because it is the last day of the January reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   Were you able to check out the first three days of the reveal?   Which one is your favorite so far?  You have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For the last day of the reveals, the design team is showcasing two mini stamp sets with its coordinating dies.  They are My Type and Candy Heart.  Here’s what they look like:

nndjan19_mytype

nndjan19_candyheart

For my first card, I stamped my images with memento ink and colored the images in with Copic markers.  I die-cut the images with its coordinating die.  I used my handmade circle stencil and inked up a piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock using different pastel color inks.

nndmytype1d

I stamped the sentiments using the Candy Heart stamp set and adhered the pieces onto my card with some foam adhesive.

nndmytype1a

I adore this mini stamp set.  You can use this stamp set not jsut for Valentine’s Day but for any occasion as well.  Here’s a closer look:

nndmytype1c

For Christmas this year, my daughter gave me a mint-green typewriter!  I was bawling when I received it!  I’ve always wanted one and every time my daughter and I went to Michael’s I would stop by to admire the typewriter and say to her one of these days I’ll get one of these.  She bought it out of her teacher’s salary!  I was so touched by this and I was super emotional that day!  So coloring the typewriter with pastel colors reminded me of my very special gift from my loving daughter!

nndmytype1b

For my second project, I also used the cat images from the Newton’s Christmas Cuddles stamp set.  I wanted these kitties sitting on a pyramid of candy hearts.  I stamped he images with memento ink and colored them in with Copic markers.  I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.  Here’s my second card:

nndcandyheart1a

I used a Hearts embossing folder that I purchased from Hobby Lobby to add more details to the card.  To finish my design, I added the red heart from the Heart Sprinkles Embellishment from Kat Scrappiness.  Here’s a closer look:

nndcandyheart1b

Don’t you just love the kissing kitties?  Those Candy Hearts are adorable too!  The coordinating die really cuts out the hearts perfectly and is a must-have.  These mini sets are so inexpensive!

nndcandyheart1c

Would you like to win both the “My Type” and “Candy Heart” Stamp Set?
We will choose ONE lucky winner to win both of these mini stamp sets!

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 2 – Caffeinated Cats

nndreleaseicon_jan19

It is the second day of the January reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   I hope you were able to check out yesterday’s reveal.  You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Caffeinated stamp set.  Here’s what it looks like:

nndjan19_caffeinatedcats

I love to color!  Coloring is very therapeutic for me and I normally do it while listening to music or while waiting for my laundry to finish, or even waiting for my instant pot meal to finish cooking, haha!

I stamped the image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with some Copic markers.  I wanted to use some intense colors so I mostly used dark Copic markers.  I altered the image a little bit to make it look like a pyramid of cats.  I fussy-cut the image and set it aside.

On an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock, I inked up my background with some Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marigold distress oxide inks with the Sunscape Stencil.

nndcaffeinatedcats2a

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment on the background and adhered this piece to an A2 size card base.  I was soooo bummed that I smeared the sentiment a little.  I almost threw out this card out of frustration but I spent so much time altering and coloring the image so I decided to stick with it.  I also added the hearts from the Heart Sprinkles Embellishment by Kat Scrappiness.  Here’s a little closer look:

nndcaffeinatedcats2c

I don’t know about you but coffee and kitty?  They are my jam! haha!  I especially love kittens because they have so much energy and they can basically play all day.  I wish I have about 10 of them running around!
