CAS-ual Fridays Release – Day 3 – Hooray Fri-Dies & Sassy Celebration Stamp Set

It’s the third day of the September release by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and we are showcasing the Hooray Fri-dies and Sassy Celebration stamp set.  Be sure to comment on each release post this week for your chance to win a $25 mini shopping spree!  A random winner will be chosen from one of the days so increase your odds by visiting with us all week.  The winner will be announced on the CAS-ual Fridays blog post.

You don’t have to wait til the end of the week to start filling your shopping cart.   ALL of the new release sets are in the shop NOW!

To create this slimline shaker card, I inked up a panel of Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks in rainbow order (Worn Lipstick, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet).  I used my distress sprayer to spray some water on the panel and picked the excess with some paper towel for added texture.

Next, I cut some acetate sheet 1/4 inch bigger (on all four sides) than the colored panel.  I placed it on my scoreboard and scored 1/4 inche on all four sides.  I added some scor-tape and adhered all three sides, leaving the top open so I can add my shaker elements.  I used a combination of Nuvo Diamond Harlequin Pure Sheen Confetti and Kat Scrappiness Mirrored Clear Solid Stars Confetti.  I closed the top portion of the shaker and shook the contents immediately to spread all over the card.  The confetti stuck to the plastic (hooray, static) and created this shimmery background.

I used the Hooray Fri-die to die-cut some black card stock and adhered to the focal panel with some liquid glue.  I used the Slimline Pinked Fri-die to cut my black card stock and adhered this piece on a slimline card base.  I then added the focal panel with some liquid glue.

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment on some black card stock with Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder.  I used my heating tool to heat-set and adhered onto the card using my ATG gun.

It’s the first day of the September release by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and we are featuring the new Slimline Pinked Fri-Dies.

I started by die-cutting some Neenah solar white card stock using the Birdies Fri-Die.  I positioned the positive die-cut inside by Misti stamping tool and stamped the image using the Little Birdies stamp set.  I colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

Mass Producing Cards with CAS-ual Fridays

Hello my crafty friends! Maria here on the blog with you, with 3 simple cards that you can mass-produce, showcasing the This Sucks stamp set.

I have been receiving some requests to do simple cards with no “image-coloring” or “die-cutting” and thought that this stamp set would be perfect for the cards.  Besides, I think almost every sentiment on this stamp set is basically what I feel these days!  Here’s an example:

First card – we were supposed to travel and see my mom and siblings for a family reunion.  We were also supposed to travel back to Egypt for a nice vacation with my daughter.  Both things didn’t happen because of the “it shall not be named” virus!

Second card – I think I lost my crafting mojo so it has been difficult to craft these days.  I am just not feeling inspired.  I must have made a ton of cards this month that I just put in the trash!  They just weren’t good enough.  Sometimes, I will just give up and call it a day!

Third card – a lot of my design team packages are stuck in New York for a few weeks now.   The only reason I receive from the shipper is that everything will be delayed because of the current virus.  There is no timeline on when they will ever get here and it is adding to my misery.  It’s hard to craft when you don’t have the things you need to complete a lot of projects.  I don’t even know if swearing helps because I have been doing a lot of those and it’s starting to scare my cat! haha!

Those are my cards today.   I apologize for being Miss Debbie Downer but I just really hope things will get back to normal soon.   I’m sure the rest of you feels the same way.

I hope you like the cards.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIASENTME” to get 15% off your order.  Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

We’ll Get Through This Together with CAS-ual Fridays

I hope everyone’s doing well!  I’ve been enjoying creating some rainbow-themed cards lately and I have another one for you today, showcasing products by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps.

To begin, I used the Love Ribbon stencil and inked up an A2-size black card panel with some white pigment ink.  I waited for about half an hour until the ink was dry.

I used my mini ink blending tools to add color on top of the white ink using distress oxide inks in rainbow colors.

I used my Glitz Glitter Gel and stencil pal to add more texture and interest to the image.  I waited for another half an hour until the gel was completely dry.

I stamped the sentiment from the Heart ribbon stamp set using Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder, then heat-set using my heating tool.

To finish my design, I die-cut the word “hope” twice using some gray and white card stock.  I glued both pieces together to create dimension and adhered it onto the card panel with some liquid glue.

I love that the colors really popped against the black background!  Here’s another look:

Rainbow Bridge

I hope you’re all doing well and creating a lot of cards and other D.I.Y. projects while on lockdown.  I am honestly so thankful we have this hobby.  This is what keeps me going whilst not being able to travel and see my family.  Let us all pray together that this pandemic goes away so we can all get back to our normal routine.

My project today showcases the Rainbow Bridge stamp set.

To make my card, I stamped the rainbow image on some Bristol smooth white card stock using versamark ink.  I put some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.

I ink-blended the stamp image with various distress oxide inks in rainbow colors.  Using my precision snips, I fussy-cut the image.  I also die-cut a few elements that I needed to create my scene.

I used a stencil from my stash to create the clouds on a panel of Neenah solar white card stock.  I adhered the rainbow onto the card with liquid glue, and foam-mounted the clouds.

The sentiment was stamped with versamark ink and embossed with my heating tool.  Here’s a closer look:

To finish my design, I added the red enamel heart in the middle of the rainbow.  I really LOVE how this card turned out.

Crafting of Hue Sponsorship with Cas-ual Fridays – Celebrate Life

Hello everyone!  I’m super excited to share today’s post!  Cas-ual Fridays Ink Squad is celebrating with  a 20% off the entire collection (using coupon code: HUE20) at the shop and we are this week’s sponsor for Crafting of Hue.

This weekend’s theme is all about “CELEBRATION” and my project today is about “Celebrating Life“.   I have a friend who is going through so much pain lately and this card is for her.  I want her to know that “life is beautiful” and even though it seems that her world is surrounded by darkness, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.

For my card today, I am showcasing the Tin Roof stencilPretty Posies stamp set, Posies Fri-Dies and the sentiment is from the Flower Angel stamp set.

To make my card, I started by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I use the Posies fri-dies to die-cut the images.

I cut an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock and inked up this panel with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade distress oxide ink.  I used the Tin Roof stencil and Spiced Marmalade ink to create more texture for my background.  I smooshed the ink pad onto an acrylic block and added some water, then used my watercolor brush to add droplets to this panel.  I then wiped it with my paper towel and set it aside to dry.

I die-cut the white wreath using a die from my stash and adhered this piece on my colored background.  I added the flowers with foam and liquid adhesive and put this piece back on to my paper trimmer and trimmed about an eighth of an inch.   I added this panel to an A2 size card base.

To ground the bold images and balance it out, I added a strip of black and white patterned paper.

I stamped the sentiment on a strip of black card stock and sprinkled some white embossing powder then heat-set with my heating tool.  I adhered this piece in the middle using my tape runner.  Here’s my card:

To finish my design, I used my white gel pen and drew some white dots on the images for added texture and dimension.  Here’s a closer look:

I hope you like my card today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
