NNDFEB19_NewtonsPeeps
NEWTON’S PEEPS STAMP SET & DIES

Here’s how I made my box card:

  • stamp and color the images using the Newton’s Peeps stamp set.
  • use the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.
  • use the grassy hills die from the land border die set and die-cut the grass using green patterned papers.
  • die-cut the box die with card stock and patterned paper.
  • die-cut the rest of the elements to create the scene.
  • die-cut the “Happy Easter” from some black card stock. The happy easter die is from the Spring Pile Up die set and we are showcasing them tomorrow.
  • assemble the card.

NNDNewtonsPeeps2A

I love this scene with Newton and his peeps and I think the colors are so cheerful.  This card will be displayed in my studio, for sure.  Here’s a closer look:

I adhered the sun with some acetate sheet.  The white flowers are from the Woodland Spring stamp set that we showcased yesterday.

BOKEH STENCIL SET

Here’s how I made my card:

  • stamp the image on some smooth white card stock and color them in with Copic markers (or any coloring medium of your choice).
  • Die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.
  • use the bokeh stencil set and ink up the background using mini ink blending tools and distress oxide inks.
  • use a stitched tag corner rectangle die to die-cut the middle piece.  Die-cut another white card stock for the center piece, and ink it up using the handmade clouds stencil.
  • die-cut a frame using the stitched tag corner rectangle frames die.
  • use the forest scene builder dies to die-cut the trees.
  • use the land border die to die-cut the hills.
  • assemble the card.

NNDWoodlandSpring1A

The Bokeh stencil set makes a perfect background to this sweet image.  The stencil is definitely a must-have.  The images on the Woodland Spring stamp set are too cute as well.  I also added some sparkling clear jewels to finish the design.  Here’s a closer look:

Who is ready for spring?  I know some of you are still covered in snow and are waiting for warmer weather.  I can’t even imagine what you guys are going through.

Newton’s Nook Designs February Release – Day 1 – Loads of Blooms and Flower Trio Die

NNDReleaseIcon_Feb19

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off  the new stamps, dies and stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs.   You also have a chance to win a stamp set for each reveal day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the following products:

NNDFEB19_LoadsofBlooms
LOADS OF BLOOMS STAMP SET & COORDINATING DIES
NNDFEB19_FlowerTrio
FLOWER TRIO DIE SET
NNDFEB19_BoldBlooms
BOLD BLOOMS STENCIL
NNDFEB19_BokehStencilSet
BOKEH STENCIL SET

For my first project, here’s how I made the card:

  • stamp the images on smooth white card stock.  The butterflies I added for my scene are from the Newton’s Birdbath stamp set.
  • color the image using Copic markers or any coloring medium of your choice.
  • die-cut the image with the coordinating dies.
  • die-cut the birch trees using the Forest Scene Builder dies and the grassy hill with the land border die.
  • die-cut the rest of the elements needed to create the scene.
  • ink up the background on Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks using the Sunscape stencil.  Spray the background with water and dab it dry with a paper towel.
  • assemble the card on an A2 size white card base.
  • Finish the design by stamping the sentiment and add a pink heart.

NNDLoadsofBloom1A

I just love this image so much!  It reminds me of those times back when I was a child and my sisters and I were riding our bicycles, gathering flowers around the area.  Those were simple times that I will always cherish forever.  Here’s a closer look:

NNDLoadsofBloom1B

I would never trade in those times where my friends and I just enjoyed being kids, riding our bikes, playing games and not wanting to come home when it’s starting to get dark because of dinner.  I am certainly thankful we didn’t have smart phones and computer games back then.

NNDLoadsofBloom1C

For my second project, I used the Flower Trio die, Bokeh Stencil set and the Bold Blooms stencil.  Here’s how I made the card:

  • Ink up some Bristol smooth white card stock using different pastel distress oxide inks with the Bokeh stencil set.
  • Die-cut the flowers using the Flower Trio Die.

IMG_1038

  • Use a stamping mat and bone folder to shape the flowers and give it a little dimension.  If you have a round stylus, it’s better.

IMG_1039

  • Ink up some Bristol smooth white card stock using distress oxide inks and the bold blooms stencil.  Spray water and dab it dry with some paper towel. Use clear sequins as shaker element.

IMG_1037

  • die-cut the diagonal die coverplate and adhere acetate sheet.  Add foam adhesive to create the shaker well and adhere on top of the background.

IMG_1040

  • adhere the flowers and leaves on the card and finish the design by adding the script sentiment die.

NNDFlowerTrioDie1A

Since I used clear sequins as my shaker element, the die-cut flowers really stood out on this card design.  I also added the Crystal clear jewels in the middle of the flowers.  Here’s a closer look:

NNDFlowerTrioDie1B

I really LOVE how this card turned out.  The Flower Trio die set is a must-have for sure. You can even decorate your Spring wreath using this die.  The possibilities are endless!  Here’s another look:

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 4 – My Type and Candy Heart

nndreleaseicon_jan19

I am a bit bummed because it is the last day of the January reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   Were you able to check out the first three days of the reveal?   Which one is your favorite so far?  You have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For the last day of the reveals, the design team is showcasing two mini stamp sets with its coordinating dies.  They are My Type and Candy Heart.  Here’s what they look like:

nndjan19_mytype

nndjan19_candyheart

For my first card, I stamped my images with memento ink and colored the images in with Copic markers.  I die-cut the images with its coordinating die.  I used my handmade circle stencil and inked up a piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock using different pastel color inks.

nndmytype1d

I stamped the sentiments using the Candy Heart stamp set and adhered the pieces onto my card with some foam adhesive.

nndmytype1a

I adore this mini stamp set.  You can use this stamp set not jsut for Valentine’s Day but for any occasion as well.  Here’s a closer look:

nndmytype1c

For Christmas this year, my daughter gave me a mint-green typewriter!  I was bawling when I received it!  I’ve always wanted one and every time my daughter and I went to Michael’s I would stop by to admire the typewriter and say to her one of these days I’ll get one of these.  She bought it out of her teacher’s salary!  I was so touched by this and I was super emotional that day!  So coloring the typewriter with pastel colors reminded me of my very special gift from my loving daughter!

nndmytype1b

For my second project, I also used the cat images from the Newton’s Christmas Cuddles stamp set.  I wanted these kitties sitting on a pyramid of candy hearts.  I stamped he images with memento ink and colored them in with Copic markers.  I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.  Here’s my second card:

nndcandyheart1a

I used a Hearts embossing folder that I purchased from Hobby Lobby to add more details to the card.  To finish my design, I added the red heart from the Heart Sprinkles Embellishment from Kat Scrappiness.  Here’s a closer look:

nndcandyheart1b

Don’t you just love the kissing kitties?  Those Candy Hearts are adorable too!  The coordinating die really cuts out the hearts perfectly and is a must-have.  These mini sets are so inexpensive!

nndcandyheart1c

Would you like to win both the “My Type” and “Candy Heart” Stamp Set?
We will choose ONE lucky winner to win both of these mini stamp sets!

For the third day of the reveals, the design team is showcasing the Love Owl-ways stamp set and coordinating dies.  Here’s what it looks like:

nndjan19_loveowl-ways

For my project today, I also used the “What A Hoot” stamp set and its coordinating dies with the Sunscape Stencil.  If you know me or have been following me for awhile, you know that I LOVE OWLS!  They are my spirit animal!  It is safe to say that this is my favorite stamp set of the month!  These images are so cute!

For my first card, I inked up my background with Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmalade distress oxide inks.  I used the Sunscape stencil to add more details to the background.  I set this aside to dry.

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock and die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.  The tree branch is from the What a Hoot stamp set.  I adhered the images onto my card.  Here’s what the first card look like:

nndloveowl-ways1a

To finish my design I also added the pink hearts using the Heart Sprinkles Embellishment mix by Kat Scrappiness.  Here’s a closer look:

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 2 – Caffeinated Cats

nndreleaseicon_jan19

It is the second day of the January reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   I hope you were able to check out yesterday’s reveal.  You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Caffeinated stamp set.  Here’s what it looks like:

nndjan19_caffeinatedcats

I love to color!  Coloring is very therapeutic for me and I normally do it while listening to music or while waiting for my laundry to finish, or even waiting for my instant pot meal to finish cooking, haha!

I stamped the image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with some Copic markers.  I wanted to use some intense colors so I mostly used dark Copic markers.  I altered the image a little bit to make it look like a pyramid of cats.  I fussy-cut the image and set it aside.

On an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock, I inked up my background with some Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marigold distress oxide inks with the Sunscape Stencil.

nndcaffeinatedcats2a

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment on the background and adhered this piece to an A2 size card base.  I was soooo bummed that I smeared the sentiment a little.  I almost threw out this card out of frustration but I spent so much time altering and coloring the image so I decided to stick with it.  I also added the hearts from the Heart Sprinkles Embellishment by Kat Scrappiness.  Here’s a little closer look:

nndcaffeinatedcats2c

I don’t know about you but coffee and kitty?  They are my jam! haha!  I especially love kittens because they have so much energy and they can basically play all day.  I wish I have about 10 of them running around!

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 1 – It’s a Plan and Newton Makes A Plan

nndreleaseicon_jan19

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off  the new stamps, dies and stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs.   You also have a chance to win a stamp set for each reveal day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the It’s a Plan stamp set with Newton Makes a Plan stamp set, and coordinating dies.   Heres what they look like:

nndjan19_plannerall

Before I start, I just want to point out that some of the dies are a bit tricky to match up because they are similar in shape and size so Jennifer was kind enough to share this little sheet to help you to number them before you cut the dies apart.

nndcattemplate

I love decorating my planner.  I don’t always have time to do it each month but when I do, I go all out!  I use stencils and distress oxide inks to add color to my pages.  I also adhered some die-cuts, stickers and other cute elements just to make it cuter.

For my first project, I stamped and colored the little kitties from the Newton Makes a Plan stamp set and colored them in with my Copic markers.  Since these images are tiny, I tried to use a maximum of two markers to do my color-blending.  I die-cut the little kitties with its coordinating dies.

I used the Sunscape Stencil and the Evergreens Stencil with my distress oxide inks to add color to my planner pages.  NOTE:  Since I am so over the winter-themed cards you will be seeing a lot of sunshine and happiness on my post this week, haha!  I also used my home-made clouds stencil using the Sky Borders die.  Here’s my monthly calendar spread:

nndplanner1a

I stamped the words on the corresponding days from the It’s a Plan stamp set like “yoga” – which I do every Mondays, “shopping”, I do every Sundays and I leave mostly Tuesdays and Wednesdays to do my card-making and/or design team projects.  I used the tiny heart checklist also from the It’s a Plan stamp set for my “goals”, “to do” and “my mantra”.  I did not fill it all out just yet because I have yet to determine what goals I would like to set for myself this month.  To decorate my planner a little further, I used the little kitties for my yoga days, the one inside the laundry basket for my laundry days on Saturdays, the Kitty holding a present for my husband’s birthday this month and the kitty holding a shopping cart for my grocery shopping day.

Here’s a little close-up of my monthly spread:

nndplanner1c

nndplanner1b

I used the hearts and circle checklist from the It’s a Plan stamp set to add my “to-do’s”, as well as my weekly goals.  Here’s what my weekly spread look like:

nndplanner3a

Since I colored a lot of the images, I decided to create a card using the Newton Makes a Plan stamp set.  Here’s my second project:

nndplanner2a

I used a circle die from my stash to cut out 6 circles on some A2 size 110 lb Neenah solar white card stock.  I used a cat embossing folder also from my stash to add some details onto the foreground.  On a piece of Bristol smooth white card stock, I traced the circle and added different colors of distress oxide inks.  Here’s a close-up:

nndplanner2b

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment from the Newton Loves Cake stamp set on a banner strip with versamark ink.  I sprinkled white embossing powder on it and heat-set it using my heating tool.  Here’s another look:

Kat Scrappiness January Release – Day 2

Hello my crafty peeps!  It is day 2 of the January release by Kat Scrappiness and the design team is showcasing the new “I Love You” shadow dies.   We also have a giveaway every day during release week.  We are picking one winner for each release day so a total of three winners!  Please head on over the the Kat Scrappiness blog post to leave a comment.  Here’s the link:  http://katscrappinessblog.com/january-release-day-2-i-love-you-shadow-dies/

I started out by stamping the images on some 110 lb card stock.  I used the stamp set from Altenew called Watercolor dots.  I embossed this piece using a hearts embossing folder that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I also die-cut two tags using the Stitched Scalloped Nesting dies.

I die-cut the word “love” from the new I Love You shadow dies on pink, and die-cut the shadow with some vellum.  I used my hearts embossing folder to emboss the white tag and adhered this piece on the black tag to layer it.  I adhered the “love” sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment on black card stock with versamark and heat-set this with my heating tool.

katscrapiloveyoudie1a

To finish my design, I die-cut the bow from my stash and adhered the red heart from the heart sprinkles embellishment mix.   Here’s a closer look:

katscrapiloveyoudie1b

I really love how this card turned out.  Even though the background is busy, the design kind of worked, don’t you think?

katscrapiloveyoudie1c

I hope you like my project today.  Don’t forget to check out the blog post on Kat Scrappiness to leave a comment.  Tomorrow is the last day so head on over there!  I hope you guys win.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below. Have an amazing day!

Make the Moose Out of Life with Newton’s Nook Designs

Have you seen last week’s November release by Newton’s Nook Designs?  Did you take advantage of the Black Friday sales?  I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!  Since hubby and I are currently in Abu Dhabi, we didn’t get to roast our own turkey which made me a bit sad.  However, the most important thing is that we’re together and that’s all that matters!

For my project today, I am showcasing the Moose Mountain stamp set and coordinating dies with the Forest Scene Builder dies and the sky borders die.

I stamped my image on Neenah solar white card stock and colored him in with my Copic markers.  I used the coordinating die to cut the image.  I used the birch tree from the Forest Scene builder dies and the sky border dies to die cut my trees and the clouds.  I also cut an A2-size card base, and trimmed the front flap so that I can layer my clouds and snowbanks with vellum.   I wanted the patterned paper inside to show through but not overwhelm my design.

IMG_0186 2

To finish my design I adhered the image on my foreground and also added some berries.  Here’s what it looks like:

IMG_0207

This is an old card design of mine but I keep going back to this because it is such a great design.  When you open the card, you can see through what’s inside.

IMG_0208

I really love how this card turned out!  Here’s another look:

I hope you like my project today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Happy crafting!
