Leave the ink-blended panel to dry for about 20 minutes then use the Tropical Leaves Stencil and apply some Ranger Distress Matte Texture Paste using some Palette Knife. For Day 2, we are showcasing the Succulent Garden Stamp Set and Succulent Garden Coordinating Dies.

I first created the background by adhering some colored card stock to my A2-size notecard. I trimmed a panel of some Neenah Solar White card Stock measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches and used an embossing folder to add texture to the background. I adhered this piece on the notecard.

Next, I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on some white card stock and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut them all out.

I used the Oval Frames Die Set to create the oval frame on the background, that was later on foam-mounted to the card for added dimension. I also adhered the colored images with liquid glue! I know you can’t see it on the photo but I added crystal glaze to the images to make them pop!

I finished the card design by adding the sentiment that was heat-embossed on some black card stock. Here’s another look:

NND May Release Day 1 – Hot Foil Plates & Dies + Giveaway

Hello and Welcome to the Newton’s Nook May Release. I am so excited to show off the new products by Newton’s Nook Designs.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For Day 1 of the reveals, we are showcasing the amazing Hot Foiling Products with Coordinating Die Sets.

I started by creating the background using my favorite Prima Pastel Dreams Watercolor Confections using some flat watercolor brush on some Bristol smooth white card stock. I swiped the colors back and forth until I the colors were blended together, and adhered this panel on some top-folding notecard.

Next, I created the frame for my shaker using the Frames and Flags with the Framework Die set and adhered some acetate sheet using liquid glue. I added some iridescent sequins as my shaker element and closed the shaker using foam-adhesive.

The next step was to use the Hot Foil Plates starting with the Mason Jar Plate and Spellbinder’s Hot Foil Machine. I decided to use some Opulent Card Stock with Therm-O-Web’s Ocean Blue Deco Foil. The combination of the pearlescent card stock with the foil made it really pop.

I also used the Fireflies Foil Plates with Therm-O-Web’s Gold Deco Foil to add the fireflies inside the jar. I die-cut the mason jar with the Coordinating Die and foam-mounted this on the card front.

I finished the card design by adding the black sentiment strip that I foiled using the Sentiment Hot Foil Plates and die-cutting with the coordinating die and added the gold bow using the Baby Bib Die Set. Here’s another look:

NND March Release Day 1 – Spring Haul, Spring Garden Line & Quatrefoil Stencils with Spring Blooms Paper Pad + Giveaway

Hello and Welcome to the Newton’s Nook March Release. For Day 1 of the reveals, we are showcasing the Spring Haul Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies, along with the Spring Garden Line Stencil, Quatrefoil Stencil and the Spring Blooms Paper Pad.

You will be seeing A LOT of watercolor backgrounds this week for my projects. My all-time favorite watercolor to use is the Prima Mixed Media Pastel Dreams Watercolor Confections. With that in mind, I started by adding some water to a trimmed panel of watercolor card stock measuring 3 1/4 x 5 inches. I added the colors orange and yellow to compliment the focal image.

Next, I used the new Spring Blooms Paper pad and trimmed to A2-size to adhere on the top-folding notecard. I adhered the background with liquid glue.

I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating die to die-cut and adhered on the focal panel with liquid glue. Easy, peasy! Here’s another look:

I am so in-love with this next project. I trimmed a panel of Neenah solar white card stock measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches. I used some washi tape to temporarily adhere the stencil and started with the leaves/stalks using some blending brush and some green dye ink. I followed the same procedure with the pink tulips using some pink dye ink and let is dry for a few minutes.

Next, I used a blending brush with the Clouds Stencil and inked up the background with Tattered Rose Distress Oxide inks. I also made sure to angle the stencil so the clouds looks more realistic, instead of having straight lines!

To add some texture, I watered down some Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and used the brush to splatter some colors on the background. Once the panel was dry, I adhered it onto some top-folding notecard and stamped the sentiment from the Uplifting Wishes Stamp Set. Here’s another look:

I am so excited to show off the new products by Newton’s Nook Designs.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For Day 1 of the reveals, we are showcasing the Puppy Heart Stamp Set and coordinating dies, with the Love & Woofs Paper Pad and Love & Chocolate Paper pad. Incidentally, the Love & Chocolate Paper Pad will go perfectly well with the Love & Chocolate stamp set.

I started by stamping the image on some X-Press It Blending Card and colored the image in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating die to cut it out. I also used the Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out the scallop frame and the stitched banner with the Love & Woofs Paper Pad and adhered the scallop panel on some red card base.

Next, I die-cut the red tag using the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set and foam-mounted this piece on the card for added dimension. I added the stitched banner and the focal image on the tag with liquid glue.

Sweet Treats Blog Hop with Newton’s Nook Designs

nndsweettreatsbloghopsq

The Newton’s Nook Design Team is hopping along today to share some Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentines dayMake sure to scroll down at the bottom of this post to see the whole list, and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

For my project today, I am showcasing the Heartfelt Love stamp set, along with the Banner Trio Die and Heart Frames die set.

To begin, I stamped my image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers.  I die-cut the image that I colored using the scallop die from the Heart Frames die set.

To turn the die-cut into a tag, I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the middle.  I inserted the eyelet and used my Crop-A-Dile again to set the eyelet and finish the tag.

I want a bigger treat holder this year to house my husband’s special treat.  I used a recycled glass jar that I washed in my dishwasher.  I added some pink shredded paper at the bottom for added color and texture.  Next, I poured the whole bag of Reese’s pieces (my husband’s favorite chocolate) inside the jar.   The glass jar is big enough to hold all of the chocolates inside.   I added more shredded paper on top and closed the jar with the lid.  I cut some red felt to cover the top of the jar and used some red and white twine to hold it shut.  I inserted my tag and created a loop, then finished it with a bow.  I also die-cut some arrows to decorate the top of the jar and adhered them with liquid glue.

To finish my tag design, I die-cut some black card stock using the Banner Trio die.  I stamped the sentiment on this piece and sprinkled some white embossing powder.  I used my heating tool to heat-set the sentiment and waited for this piece to cool for a few seconds.  To add more texture to the the sentiment, I used my Spectrum Noir Glittered Pens to add color to the word “HEART”.  Here’s another look:

I’ve always loved recycling glass jars and this treat holder turned out so cute with just a few supplies from my collection, and stamps & dies from Newton’s Nook Designs!  My hubby is going to LOVE this!  Don’t forget to join us and hop along to win one of the prizes.  Full details about the hop is indicated below.  I have also listed and linked the supplies I use.  Thanks for joining me today!

I started out by stamping the images on some 110 lb card stock.  I used the stamp set from Altenew called Watercolor dots.  I embossed this piece using a hearts embossing folder that I purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I also die-cut two tags using the Stitched Scalloped Nesting dies.

I die-cut the word “love” from the new I Love You shadow dies on pink, and die-cut the shadow with some vellum.  I used my hearts embossing folder to emboss the white tag and adhered this piece on the black tag to layer it.  I adhered the “love” sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment on black card stock with versamark and heat-set this with my heating tool.
