Simple Thank You Cards with Spectrum Noir

I hope everyone’s doing well!  I don’t know about you but lately, I have been needing to give out “thank you” cards a lot more often.  I wanted to create some cards today that I can mass-produce that’ll look amazing but wouldn’t take a lot of effort.  Layering stamps are great for this type of project because you don’t have to color the images one by one.     Spectrum Noir quick dry dye inks are my go-to when it comes to stamping layering images.  The ink pads are so juicy, and the colors are so vibrant that it’s perfect to use for the stamp set that I am showcasing today.

Here’s the step-by-step on how I made the cards:

Choose 2 colors of Spectrum Noir Quick Dry Dye inks for each color family to use for the cards today. For the blues, I used Oasis and Parakeet.  Green – Spring Meadow and Grasshopper.  Yellows – Straw Bale and Honeypot. Pinks – Pink Tulip and Fuchsia and Purple – Pale Fig and Crushed Velvet.

Position the first layering stamp inside the stamping tool and use Spring Meadow ink. Do this method four times.

Layer the next stamp set inside the stamping tool and use Grasshopper ink.

Position the layering flower stamp inside the stamping tool and use Pale Fig as the first color. Clean the stamp and use the other colors described above to stamp the first layer.

Position the second layering stamp and use the darker shades for each color family.

Repeat this process using the other colors.

To add more details to the card, use Spectrum Noir water-reactive inks. Match the color used for each flower.

Press the ink pad onto an acrylic block and add some water to dilute the color. Use a watercolor brush to splatter color onto the card panel.

For the sentiment, use the Crafter’s Companion Thanks sentiment die. Die-cut 4 times using some black card stock.  Adhere the sentiment on the card panel.

Here’s what the finished card looks like:

I really LOVE that the cards I made were simple and can be easily mass-produced.  Here’s a look at all four cards:

Here’s a little close-up:

If you haven’t tried the Spectrum Noir ink pads yet, I suggest that you order them now.  They are my favorite ink pads to use for all of my projects!

I hope you like my cards today.  Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Newton Loves Boxes & Newton’s Donut

NNDReleaseIcon18May

It is the last day of the May reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs  and we are doing a double-whammy kind of day!  Don’t forget to check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post for a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For our projects, the design team is showcasing the Newton Loves Boxes stamp set and coordinating die with Newton’s Donut stamp set and coordinating die.   I love, love, love these two stamp sets!

NNDMAY18NewtonLovesBoxes

NNDMAY18NewtonsDonut

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.  I had planned on creating two Clean and Simple cards today.  The images are so cute and I wanted these images to pop.

I dry-embossed two (2) A2 size card stocks with the Postage die from the Framework die set (revealed last Monday), with my Sizzix Premium Crease Pad.  As I previously mentioned, I am really loving this dry-embossed look.  I die-cut a little window from a wonky square die from my stash.

To finish my design, I stamped the stars from the Cosmic Newton stamp set on my foreground using a very light gray ink.  These stars gave a subtle background but the main focus is still the image.  Here’s my first card:

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1

Don’t you just LOVE this image?  I completely adore this!  I have a Persian cat named Chloe and I often find her hidden inside a box with her tail sticking out!  Haha! This is so cute!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1B

I think this image is my favorite in the stamp set!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1A

Here’s my second card:

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes2

I cannot get over how cute these images really are!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes2A

For my second project, I created the same embossed look with the Postage die from the Framework die set.  I also die-cut two tags using the Fancy Edges Tag die set, and the bow from my favorite Pines and Holly die set.  I adhered the pieces on my card base and finished the design by adding glossy accents to the sprinkles to make them pop.  Here’s my card:

NNDNewtonsDonut1

Isn’t this the best double-whammy kind of day?  I absolutely adore these two stamp sets we revealed today!  I think they are not only cute, but they are very unique!

NNDNewtonsDonut1A

The design is pretty busy but by using the neutral colored background and matching it with the tag and bow, it just worked perfectly!

Did you get inspired this week?  I hope you love the reveals as much as we did showcasing each stamp set and dies!  I’d love to know your favorites from the May release.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Papa Bear

NNDReleaseIcon18May

It is the third day of the May reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   Are you loving what you’re seeing so far?  Don’t forget to check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post for a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Papa Bear stamp set and coordinating dies.   This stamp set is perfect for Father’s Day cards or just about any occasion.   We don’t really have to wait for Father’s Day to make a card for our Dads (husbands, grand fathers, etc.) so this stamp set is a definite “must-have”!

NNDMAY18PapaBear

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.

I die-cut another piece of white card stock, using the scallop die from the Frames and Flags die set.  Using my handmade clouds stencil made from the Sky Borders die that I created awhile back, I colored the background with my mini ink blending tools and distress oxide.  I also used another handmade stencil to create the hills.

I used a scallop die that I have from my stash to die-cut the middle piece to create a little window.  I adhered this piece on my card base.  I die-cut a yellow card stock with a sun die from my stash and glued this piece on top.  I used fun foam to create some dimension on my foreground and adhered it on my card.

To finish the design, I stamped the sentiment and added the pink hearts.  I put glossy accents to the hearts to give it a little shine.  Here’s the card:

NNDPapaBear1

This card is really simple but I love how it turned out.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Peony Blooms

NNDReleaseIcon18May

It is the second day of the May reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   I hope you were able to check yesterday’s reveal.  You have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Peony Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies.   I absolutely LOVE this stamp set!

NNDMAY18PeonyBlooms

To start, I positioned the biggest peony die in the middle of my 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 piece of Bristol smooth white card stock.  I wanted to do a partial die-cutting on this card stock to make the flowers stand out.   To achieve this, I used my small cutting plate to partially die-cut the flowers.

I put the card stock onto my stamping tool and lined-up the stamp on top of the partially die-cut piece and stamped the image with memento tuxedo black ink.

I cut the edges to create the border on the partially die-cut flowers using my paper trimmer.

IMG_8106

I used the Postage Die from the new Framework die set to create an embossed impression on my die-cut piece.  I also did the same technique with the patterned paper to make everything cohesive.  I colored the image with my Copic markers, and I also used my Prisma Color Pencils to add some highlights to the flowers.

I adhered the embossed patterned paper onto my card base.  I used foam adhesive to the foreground to create some dimension, and adhered it to the card.   To finish the design, I stamped the sentiment with my Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Here’s the card:

NNDPeony1

I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out!  Here’s a little close-up of the peonies:
