Spring Blooms with Crafty Meraki

Spring is one of my favorite season because of Tulips!  There’s just something about having a bouquet of fresh tulips on the mantle that brightens my day!  When I saw this Spring Blooms stamp set, I knew I just had to have it.

I started by preparing the background by inking up some Bristol Smooth white panel using some blending brush and a stencil from my collection with Celery Dye Ink.  The blending is so much easier when using a stencil mat.   I then cut this panel to 4 inches x 5 1/4 inches and adhered on some A2 size notecard.

I placed my Neenah solar white card panel inside the Misti Stamping Tool and stamped the images from the Spring Blooms stamp set.  I colored the images in using alcohol markers and since I didn’t have the coordinating die, I used my Cutterbee precision snips to fussy-cut the image.

The colored image was then adhered to the card panel with liquid glue.  I used the same pink alcohol markers to add some random dots on the background and finished the card design by adhering some Peridot Opal Gems for added interest and texture.  Here’s another look at the card:

I hope you like this card today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Happy Easter Card with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello my crafty friends!  The weather has been so unpredictable lately and I know some of you are having some major snow storm.  I hope my colorful card today will cheer you up a little.  For today’s project, I am showcasing the Bunny Tails Stencil, Hop Into Spring Stamp Set and coordinating dies along with the Circle Frames die set, Land Border die set and Clouds Stencil.

I stamped the image on Neenah solar white card stock using Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I used the coordinating die to die-cut the image.

I cut another panel of Neenah solar white card stock measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I sprayed my Bunny Stencil (#1) with Pixie Spray.  I waited for the stencil to dry a little and placed it on top of my card stock.  The pixie spray gave it some light tack so that it didn’t shift while blending the colors.  I used some low tack tape to mask-off the the lower portion of the stencil so that the colors don’t contaminate each other.  I used my blending brushes to add pink, then peach, yellow, blue and purple.  The bunny tails were added using stencil #2 with some textured paste and my palette knife for added texture and dimension.  I set this aside for about half an hour to let it dry and added foam tape at the back of the panel.

I used the “positive” die-cut to pencil the lines on my notecard.  I then used my clouds stencil and some dye ink to create the clouds.  The grass panel was die-cut using the same circle die that I used to create the window and the land border die.  I foam-mounted the focal panel onto the notecard.  I also added the grass and the bunny with some glue.  I finished my design by stamping the sentiment on some black card stock.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.  I fussy-cut the sentiment with my precision snips and adhered to the card with glue.  Here’s another look:

I hope you like my card today.  The supplies I use are listed and linked below.  Thanks for stopping by!

NND February Release Day 4 – Newton’s Rainy Day Trio & Daffodils

It is the third day of the reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.  I hope you were able to check out Monday and Tuesday’s reveal.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For Day 4, we are showcasing the Newton’s Rainy Day Trio stamp set and coordinating dies along with the Daffodils stamp set and coordinating dies.

For my first card, I started with an A2 size panel of some Bristol smooth white card stock and created the background using the Hills & Grass stencil and Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink.  To create the rain, I used the Raindrops stencil. with Peacock Feathers distress oxide ink.   I slightly offset the stencil and used some texture paste for added texture and dimension.  I set this aside to dry for about 30 minutes.

I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I colored the images in with alcohol markers and positioned my dies with some purple tape to die-cut them out.  I originally colored the gray kitty’s hat with a different color and it just didn’t look good.  I thought about throwing the image and stamping again but since I already spent too much time coloring the other kitties, I decided to keep it.  I stamped the hat and boots on a patterned paper and fussy cut them with my precision snips, so that I can paper-piece and cover my mistake!  I adhered them with liquid glue.  I did the same thing to the umbrella.

I adhered the image on the card panel and added to an A2-size notecard.  I finished my design by stamping the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink.

The next card below is fairly simple.   I stamped the images a few times on some Neenah solar white card stock and used my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers to color them in.

I used the darker marker to add some dots and more texture to the flowers, and also gave it a slight tint of blue outline to make them stand out.  This brought it to life as you can see on the close-up below!

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink and added some White AB solid confetti mix.

Would you like to win the “Newton’s rainy Day Trio or the “Daffodils” Stamp Set?  We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

Hoppy Spring with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hoppy spring!  I know things are so scary for all of us at the moment and creating cards is the one thing that calms my soul.  Without this hobby, I’d probably go nuts!  My husband and I are currently stuck overseas and we are not allowed to go anywhere (or fly home)!  I am sure a lot of you are in the same situation so let us all pray and hope that this pandemic will go away soon!  This is why I decided to share some cheerful shaker card today, showcasing the Hop into Spring stamp set and coordinating dies, with the Framework die set, Woodland Picnic stamp set and coordinating dies, Sky Scene builder dies, Land Border die set and the Essential Alphabet dies.

To make my shaker card, I started by die-cutting some Bristol smooth white card stock using the biggest die from the Framework die set.  I ink-blended this panel with Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar distress oxide inks.  I used my distress sprayer to spray some water on this panel and dabbed it with my paper towel to dry.  I used a stitched circle die from my stash to die-cut the colored panel to create my window and adhered this piece on an embossed white card stock.  I also used the same circle die to die-cut the grass using the Land Borders die.

I stamped the two bunnies from the Hop Into Spring and Woodland Picnic stamp sets on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my alcohol markers.  I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.

To create my scene, I used the Sky Builder die set to die cut the sun ad clouds and the word “SPRING” using the Essential Alphabet die set.  Now that I have all of the elements I needed, I started to assemble my card.

I added some acetate sheet on my ink-blended panel and foam adhesive to create my well. I adhered the grass and clouds with some liquid adhesive. I added some iridescent hearts as my shaker element.

I used “Press N Seal” to line up the letters on my card and adhered them using some liquid glue.

I stamped the word “hoppy”  with Versafine Onyx Black ink and finished my design by adding white dots to the flower using my white gel pen.  Here’s a closer look:

I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful today!  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Say Woof stamp set and the Woof Stencil:

The film strip was die-cut 3 times and I adhered them together to add some dimension.  I stamped and colored the dogs from the Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

To assemble the card, I adhered the front panel to a side-fold card base, then added the film strip with some liquid adhesive.  The dogs were adhered using foam adhesive.  Lastly, I added the speech bubble with some foam tape to make it stand out.

I am so IN-LOVE with this stamp set.  I am a dog/pet lover and when I saw this set, my heart just melted!   If hubby and I only have about about 5 acres of land, we will definitely own a dozen of dogs, 4 cats, a couple of chickens, a pigmy Llama, some guinea pigs and a Cockatoo.  Haha!   You can never have too much happy, indeed!
