Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Day 1 – Newton’s Movie Night, Cascading Stars and Popcorn Stencils

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs. Here is my card:

Here’s how I made it:

stamp the images on smooth white card stock, color and and die-cut the images using the coordinating dies. I used the dies to die-cut the 3D glasses and the popcorn but I fussy-cut the main image.
Ink up an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks. I used Victorian Velvet distress oxide ink.
I smooshed my Aged Mahogany distress oxide ink onto an acrylic block and used my distress sprayer to add water. I then used my watercolor brush to splatter some color onto my inked up background.
I used the popcorn stencil and moonstone glimmer paste to add some glitter and shine on my background, using a palette knife.

I used another die from my stash to die-cut the “wooden floors”. I also used this die to die-cut the colored background. I adhered both panels to my A2-size card base.

I die-cut some diagonal frames in white and pink card stock and adhered them together, and stamped my sentiment.
I adhered all of the pieces onto the card.
I finished my design by adding some glossy accents to the 3D glasses.

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release – Day 1 – Oink Stamp Set with Picket Fence and Speech Bubble Die Set

Here is my card:

Here’s how I made it:

stamp the images on smooth white card stock and die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.
stamp the balloon from the Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and die-cut with the coordinating die.
Ink up an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks. I used Festive Berries and Candied Apple.
die-cut the grass with green patterned paper using the grass die from the Land Border Die set by Newton’s Nook.
die-cut the Picket Fence and the Speech Bubble border using the Speech Bubble die set with some white card stock.
ink up some Bristol smooth white card stock with some Tumbled glass distress oxide ink. Use the “birthday wishes” die to die-cut the sentiment.
use some white paint and smoosh them onto an acrylic block and splatter white paint all over the inked up background.
assemble the card.

I love, love, love this new stamp set. I also used my Copic multi-liner pen to draw some eyelashes to the piggies. I think they look cuter with eyelashes. I finished my design by adding glossy accents to the balloon. Here’s another look:

Newton’s Nook Designs March Release – Day 1 – Newton’s Birthday Trio and Paw-some Birthday

For my first project, here’s how I made the card:

stamp the images on smooth white card stock and die-cut using the coordinating dies.
stamp the balloon from the Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and die-cut with the coordinating die.
Ink up an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks.
die-cut the grass with green patterned paper using the grass die from the Land Border Die set by Newton’s Nook.
Die-cut the “HAPPY” with some white card stock using the Essential Alphabets die set. Color the pieces using Copic markers.
stamp the “It’s Your Day” sentiment on the grass from the Birthday essentials stamp set.
assemble the card.

To finish my design, I put glossy accents on the birthday balloon and added a heart enamel on the cat with Nuvo liquid adhesive. Here’s a closer look:

I really LOVE the Newton’s Birthday Trio die! It cuts all the inside pieces between the cats and the speech bubbles. Here’s another look:

For my second project, I used the Paw-some birthday stamp set and coordinating dies, with the Essential Alphabet die-set.

Here’s how I made this card:

stamp and color the image from the Paw-some Birthday stamp set with Copic markers (or any coloring medium of your choice).
die-cut the image using the Paw-some Birthday die.
die-cut the “BIRTHDAY” letters using the Essential Alphabet die set.
cut some strips from patterned paper.
assemble the card.

Here’s a closer look:

I LOVE that Newton’s Nook Designs make their dies to cut the spaces between the images. This one cuts out the spaces between the dog and the presents. I also LOVE that the dies are pretty inexpensive. I think this is another must-have!

For my first project, here’s how I made the card:

stamp the images on smooth white card stock. The butterflies I added for my scene are from the Newton’s Birdbath stamp set.
color the image using Copic markers or any coloring medium of your choice.
die-cut the image with the coordinating dies.
die-cut the birch trees using the Forest Scene Builder dies and the grassy hill with the land border die.
die-cut the rest of the elements needed to create the scene.
ink up the background on Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks using the Sunscape stencil. Spray the background with water and dab it dry with a paper towel.
assemble the card on an A2 size white card base.
Finish the design by stamping the sentiment and add a pink heart.

I just love this image so much! It reminds me of those times back when I was a child and my sisters and I were riding our bicycles, gathering flowers around the area. Those were simple times that I will always cherish forever. Here’s a closer look:

I would never trade in those times where my friends and I just enjoyed being kids, riding our bikes, playing games and not wanting to come home when it’s starting to get dark because of dinner. I am certainly thankful we didn’t have smart phones and computer games back then.

For my second project, I used the Flower Trio die, Bokeh Stencil set and the Bold Blooms stencil. Here’s how I made the card:

Ink up some Bristol smooth white card stock using different pastel distress oxide inks with the Bokeh stencil set.
Die-cut the flowers using the Flower Trio Die.

Use a stamping mat and bone folder to shape the flowers and give it a little dimension. If you have a round stylus, it’s better.

Ink up some Bristol smooth white card stock using distress oxide inks and the bold blooms stencil. Spray water and dab it dry with some paper towel. Use clear sequins as shaker element.

die-cut the diagonal die coverplate and adhere acetate sheet. Add foam adhesive to create the shaker well and adhere on top of the background.

adhere the flowers and leaves on the card and finish the design by adding the script sentiment die.

Since I used clear sequins as my shaker element, the die-cut flowers really stood out on this card design. I also added the Crystal clear jewels in the middle of the flowers. Here’s a closer look:

I really LOVE how this card turned out. The Flower Trio die set is a must-have for sure. You can even decorate your Spring wreath using this die. The possibilities are endless! Here’s another look:

Newton’s Nook Designs January Release – Day 1 – It’s a Plan and Newton Makes A Plan

For the first day of the reveals, we are showcasing the It’s a Plan stamp set with Newton Makes a Plan stamp set, and coordinating dies. Heres what they look like:

Before I start, I just want to point out that some of the dies are a bit tricky to match up because they are similar in shape and size so Jennifer was kind enough to share this little sheet to help you to number them before you cut the dies apart.

I love decorating my planner. I don’t always have time to do it each month but when I do, I go all out! I use stencils and distress oxide inks to add color to my pages. I also adhered some die-cuts, stickers and other cute elements just to make it cuter.

For my first project, I stamped and colored the little kitties from the Newton Makes a Plan stamp set and colored them in with my Copic markers. Since these images are tiny, I tried to use a maximum of two markers to do my color-blending. I die-cut the little kitties with its coordinating dies.

I used the Sunscape Stencil and the Evergreens Stencil with my distress oxide inks to add color to my planner pages. NOTE: Since I am so over the winter-themed cards you will be seeing a lot of sunshine and happiness on my post this week, haha! I also used my home-made clouds stencil using the Sky Borders die. Here’s my monthly calendar spread:

I stamped the words on the corresponding days from the It’s a Plan stamp set like “yoga” – which I do every Mondays, “shopping”, I do every Sundays and I leave mostly Tuesdays and Wednesdays to do my card-making and/or design team projects. I used the tiny heart checklist also from the It’s a Plan stamp set for my “goals”, “to do” and “my mantra”. I did not fill it all out just yet because I have yet to determine what goals I would like to set for myself this month. To decorate my planner a little further, I used the little kitties for my yoga days, the one inside the laundry basket for my laundry days on Saturdays, the Kitty holding a present for my husband’s birthday this month and the kitty holding a shopping cart for my grocery shopping day.

I used the hearts and circle checklist from the It’s a Plan stamp set to add my “to-do’s”, as well as my weekly goals. Here’s what my weekly spread look like:

Since I colored a lot of the images, I decided to create a card using the Newton Makes a Plan stamp set. Here’s my second project:

I used a circle die from my stash to cut out 6 circles on some A2 size 110 lb Neenah solar white card stock. I used a cat embossing folder also from my stash to add some details onto the foreground. On a piece of Bristol smooth white card stock, I traced the circle and added different colors of distress oxide inks. Here’s a close-up:

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment from the Newton Loves Cake stamp set on a banner strip with versamark ink. I sprinkled white embossing powder on it and heat-set it using my heating tool. Here’s another look:
