I wanted to create a heavenly scene for my lovely unicorns. For the first card, I started out by using my sunburst stencil, on Neenah solar white cardstock and I adhered my colorful vellum on top. this created some dimension and lovely details to my card. I also used the clouds border die to die-cut my clouds. Here is my first card:

NNDUnicorn

For my second card, I started out by using the Starfield stencil by NND with my fossilized Amber distress oxide ink. I die-cut the clouds with the clouds border die and the Rainbow using a die from my stash. I adhered the rainbow to my card front, as well as the clouds. I used my foam tape to adhere my unicorn, and stamped my sentiment using my new stamping platform tool by Tim Holtz. I finished my design by adding the 4mm sparkling clear solid confetti mix from Kat Scrappiness. here is my second card:

There’s No Otter Like You

I finally had some down-time this week and was able to play with my Otterly Love You stamp set and dies by MFT Stamps.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock using my Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink pad.   I colored the images in with my Copic markers. I wanted to achieve soft coloring on my Otters and I used my E40 and E41 markers, highlighting their cheeks with R00.

I die-cut my front window frame panel using a die from my stash, and die-cut the blue vellum paper to achieve the look of water.

I used my clouds border die to die-cut the clouds using Inkadinkado masking paper, with my broken china distress ink to achieve the look of clouds on the front panel.

I finished off the design by adding the light blue coral from another stamp set. I hope you like my card today and got inspired.  I have also listed and linked the supplies I have used.  Have a great weekend!

It Would Stink If We Weren’t Friends

Hello and Happy 2017 everyone! This is my first design team post for the year for Kat Scrappiness and today I am sharing a card, showcasing the Little Stinker stamp set by Neat & Tangled, the Stitched-Rope Nested Rectangle dies and a bunch of other supplies available at the shop.

I apologize if I will not have a process video for you today because I still didn’t get my voice back. I currently have bronchitis and laryngitis, and I am still trying to get rid of this flu. It has been a few weeks now and it is starting to bum me out. Anyway, I have taken some step-by-step photos of my project so I will try and walk you through it.

I started out by stamping the image on Inkadinkado Masking Paper, and fuzzy-cut it with my honeybee scissors. Since this is a one-layer card, I will be using my mask to cover the image.

I die-cut my card panel using the stitched rope nested die on Neenah solar white card stock. I then used my mask to cover the Little Stinker image so I can distress the background with my distress inks. I also cut a mask for my grass hill with the masking paper. I used Spun Sugar and Evergreen bough to distress my background. Once I was satisfied with the color combination, I used my paintbrush to splatter some water on my card panel. Distress ink reacts on water and it really gives a cool effect.

I peeled the mask that was covering the skunk, and started coloring the image with my Copic markers. I used T0, T2 and T4 for my skunk. I also used R00 for the cheeks and the little sign that was being held by the little skunk. I stamped the sentiment on the sign using my Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Since this is a Valentine’s Day card, I felt that I needed to add some hearts. I had an older stamp set from my stash with splattered hearts images and I thought this would be perfect for my card. I used the same mask to cover my skunk again, and stamped the front panel of the card with the heart stamp. It turned out really beautiful!

To finish off the design of the card, and with the help of my favorite tool, the Crystal Katana, I  adhered a tiny red heart on the sign, and covered the heart with glossy accents. I love how the card turned out! I hope you love it too and got inspired today.

Winter Scene Christmas Card

Is everyone ready for Christmas? To tell you the truth, I’m not. This year, I am way behind the shopping and all the other things that I need to do before Christmas. The only thing I was able to do last weekend was to at least take the fall décor down and put the Christmas décor up. I am waiting for my kids to arrive so we can all decorate the tree. But enough about my procrastination!

I was listening to some Christmas music today and got inspired to create this Winter Scene Christmas card, showcasing the Winter House Scene Die and Merry Christmas script die by Gina Marie Designs, available at Kat Scrappiness. This die is a must-have! You can easily mass-produce the card below. I promise you, it’s really easy. Please watch the process video below to see how I made the card.

Newton Loves Coffee ~ Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

winter-coffee-lovers-blog-hop

It’s that time of the year again and I am so excited to be participating in the “Winter Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop”.  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Tsuruta and the rest of her team responsible for facilitating this great hop!  I don’t know how you guys do it but you all absolutely rock!

Today I have made a card showcasing products from the #KatScrappiness store, as a Design Team member.  Incidentally, today is also Kat’s birthday so there is a sale at the shop for all Halloween/Fall/Christmas category for 15% off (no coupon code necessary).  The promo is valid from today until December 11, 2016 (ends at midnight PST).  Here is the link to the shop http://www.katscrappiness.com/?aff=21  You will also get a free bag of jingle bells for every order  during this time frame.

I started out by stamping my image using my stamping tool with memento tuxedo black ink on Neenah Solar White card stock. I colored Newton and the coffee image using my Copic markers W1, W2 and W5, R00, R29 and R39.

I wanted to use warm Christmas colors for this card so I die-cut the front panel using my Gina Marie wonky stitches nesting dies, and the Bo Bunny 6×6 Paper Pad Merry & Bright Collection. Red and Beige just goes so well together.

I also used a wreath die that I recently purchased and embellished it with the new Deck the Halls sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness. I love this new sequin mix.

I finished off the design by adding the snowflake sequin on the coffee mug and Santa hat for Newton. I hope you like my card. Check out the new sequin mixes and script dies available at the shop – they are amazing! The supplies I’ve used are listed and linked below.

Woodland-themed Christmas Card

It’s Maria Russell here today and I am back today to share with you a Christmas card that I have made showcasing the Christmas tree die by Kat Scrappiness. Unfortunately I wouldn’t have a process video this time, as I am currently home in Orlando, celebrating Thanksgiving weekend with my family.

I started out by die-cutting my card stock using the die, and coloring the pieces with my Tombow colored pencils. Once I was happy with the colors, I used my tombow liquid glue to adhere the pieces together and set it aside to dry.

I proceeded to cut my card base, and used the Kat Scrappiness Stitched rectangle die to die-cut my patterned paper. I also used this die to die-cut another white cardstock so I can use my Lawn Fawn stitched border dies to create the snow.

Since I was going to decorate my card with cardinals, I went ahead and used a magnolia die from my stash to add the stitching detail to the front panel of my card.

img_2654

I finished the design by adding white diamonds sequins from Kat Scrappiness, Enamel dots from Doodlebug Design and adding the peppermint twine.  Here is the card. I have also listed the supplies that I’ve used below. I hope you like it and somehow got inspired today. Have an amazing day!

I am going to keep this blog post short because I am sharing a process video on how I made the cards. Which one is your favorite?
