Special Delivery Slimline Christmas Card

Christmas is fast-approaching and I am totally looking forward to coming home.  There’s something so special about being home for the holidays!  Campfire, Ugly Sweaters, Hot Cocoa, and spending quality-time with my family!  Home for the holidays is my theme for today’s blog post.

As previously mentioned on my last post, I will be giving you inspiration using older KS products!  It’s time to give them some much-needed TLC and if you don’t have these items, why don’t you grab them now!  My card today features the Dress Up Quokka Stamp Set, A Cozy Christmas Slimline Paper Pad, along with the Ugly Sweater Add-on Stamp Set, Merry Critters Stamp Set, Forest for The Trees Slimline Die and the cute Special Delivery Etched Dies by Spellbinders.  These products are all available at the Kat Scrappiness shop!

Here’s how I made the card:

  • Cut the pattern paper from the A Cozy Christmas Paper Pad and adhere on a red slimline card base.
  • Die-cut a panel of Neenah solar white card stock using the Forest for the Trees Slimline Die Set and foam-mount the main frame on the slimline card.
  • Adhere the birch trees and snowbank with liquid glue.
  • Adhere the red car with foam-adhesive for added dimension.
  • Add the quokkas on the focal panel with liquid glue.
  • Stamp the sentiment on some black card stock.  Sprinkle some white embossing powder and heat-set with the heating tool.
  • Adhere the sentiment on the card.

I really LOVE how this card turned out and I hope you got inspired to use your older stamps and dies.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing day!

There’s Snow One Like You with Kat Scrappiness

Hello my crafty peeps! Maria here with you today and I’m back with a Christmas card, showcasing the Merry Critters stamp set.  I LOVE this stamp set so much and I just couldn’t wait to play with it.

I started by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  The little yellow bird reminds me so much of tweety!   Here’s what the stamp set look like:

Since this stamp set didn’t come with coordinating dies, I die-cut the images using my Brother Scan N Cut 2.

I inked up my background with some distress oxide inks.  I ahve been loving the Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar color combination lately!  It gives the perfect wintery-sky!  Here’s my card:

I used some white glittered card stock as well to create my snow hill.  I think this card turned out so cute.  Here’s a little close-up:

I hope you like my project today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked blow.  Please consider supporting me by clicking on those links.  Don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order.  Have an amazing day!

I Craft Therefore I Hoard

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are all having a great week so far. Maria here with you today and I am back to share with you two card samples showcasing the new Crafter’s Gonna Craft stamp set, with the new Stitched Scalloped Collage Frame Die.

I have been super busy traveling for the last few weeks that I don’t have a step-by-step instruction for you.  I guess if you are a card maker or a scrapbooker, you would have figured out how I made the cards already but I apologize if you are a beginner.  Please know that once I am back on a regular schedule, I will have a step-by-step tutorial or even a YouTube video. I promise!  Here’s my first simple, one-layer card:

This new stamp set is a must-have for any paper crafter!  Here’s another look:

My second card just cracks me up!  If you are a crafter, I am sure you can relate with the sentiment.

Isn’t it true though?  I am such a hoarder.  I collect anything and everything that I can use for a future project, it drives my husband nuts!  I didn’t realize how much hoarding I’ve been doing until it was time to pack up most of my craft supplies to move it all back to my home in Florida.

I also LOVE the new sparkling jewels at the shop.  They come in different colors but my favorite is the clear, sparkling one that I used on my project.  I prefer adhering it flat-side up and I think it gives more shine.

I hope you like my projects today.  Please don’t forget to check out the August release by Kat Scrappiness.  The new dies are must-haves for sure!  Don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order.  Also, don’t forget to check out the Lawn Fawn items that are currently on sale at the shop for 20% off by using code “LAWNFAWN”.  It is only valid until August 12th.  Have an amazing day and happy crafting!

Just A Little Hello

Howdy Kat Scrappiness fans!  Maria here on the blog today with a simple card, showcasing the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set.  If you are waiting for this die-set, you are in luck because they are arriving back in stock next week!  If you haven’t ordered this yet, you can now reserve it so that you don’t have to wait again.

To make things easier for me, I started out by choosing a sketch pattern from the Kat Scrappiness site (you can see this photo on the product sample).  I downloaded this sketch and inserted this piece in the envelope with the dies so I can use them for my future projects.  Sometimes, it is helpful to have it when you’re not feeling crafty!  I am having one of those days since the majority of my supplies are currently loaded in a shipping container, en-route to our home in FL.

I die-cut some A2 size card stock with the rounded-edge rectangle die.  I used the same die to die-cut a patterned paper.

I used the long strip die that is included in the set to die-cut another piece of some white card stock (slightly a different color from my card base).  I also used the stars die to die-cut  one pin pink, blue and yellow.

I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the image with the coordinating die.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and used my belli-roll pen to add more details to the images.  Here’s my card:

I love the simplicity of this card.  I didn’t do a lot as you can tell, but it turned out really cute!  This sketch is also perfect to create a “Welcome Baby” card.  Here’s another look:

This Crafter’s Essentials 1 die setis definitely a must-have for any paper crafter.  I think the little stitched star die is just the right size to add to your projects.  I love the stitching details to it as well.

I hope you like my card today.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order at the shop.  Don’t forget to check the clearance section too!  I wish you all a wonderful day!  Happy crafting!

(We’re) Made For Each Other – M.F.E.O. with Ghost Inlaid Technique

Hello Kat Scrappiness fans! I hope you are all having a great week so far.  I’m back on the blog today sharing with you this cute card, featuring the Punny Snacks stamp set, the Condensed Lower Case Alpha Dies and the new Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Dies.  I love the new scalloped dies so much.

I don’t know about you, but I like to keep a stash of “just-because” cards to give to family and friends.  I love the “Ghost Inlaid Technique” that I added to this card using the Condensed Lowercase Alphabet Dies and even though it looks complicated, it really isn’t.  I have a process video for you all today (linked below) so I will keep this blog post short.

Here’s what the card looks like.  I added some cute girly, eyelashes to the soda image on the left side.

KatScrapMFEO1B

Also added some black polka dots to the whole background to finish it off.  I LOVE the cute little smiley faces from the Punny Snack stamp set.  They are adorable!

This M.F.E.O. Quote is one of my favorite scenes from the movie, Sleepless in Seattle.  I thought it was really funny!

Father’s Day Card with Dad’s Tools stamp set by Kat Scrappiness

Hello my crafty friends, Maria here with you today on the blog!  I hope you are all having a great week so far.  Father’s Day is fast approaching and it is time to honor all the AMAZING dads out there.  The new Dad’s tools – 6×8 Layered stamp set is perfect for this type of occasion, or you can even make just-because cards.  It doesn’t always just have to be for one day out of the year.  I know if my Dad were here, I probably would make him a card at least once a month.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock, using my Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform.  I think it is a must-have tool for stamping layered images.  Since this stamp set did not have matching dies, I used my Brother Scan N Cut2 to die-cut the images.

I used the biggest of my Cross Stitched Rectangle dieto die-cut the blue patterned paper taken from the Gotta Have Gingham Petite Paper Pack 6×6 by Lawn Fawn.  I then used the third piece of the Cross Stitched Rectangle dieto die-cut a piece of silver card stock. I placed this card stock onto my We R Memory Keepers embossing folder and run it through my die-cutting machine to emboss this piece.

I adhered my blue patterned paper onto my card base and then layered the embossed silver cardstock on top for my foreground.  On another piece of white card stock, I die-cut the word Dad with the Uppercase Condensed Alphabet Dies.  To give it some dimension, I used my foam adhesive to adhere the word Dad onto my card.

I stamped the sentiment on a black card stock with my Versa-mark ink and used my white embossing powder then set it using my heating tool.  I also adhered the hammer and screwdriver images from the stamp set.  I finished the design by adhering my blue enamel dots on the four corners of my silver card stock embossed piece.  Here’s the card.

I honestly struggle with masculine cards so designing this was a bit of a challenge for me.  However, I love how this turned out.  Here’s a close-up look:

Clean and Simple Cards with Punny Snacks Stamp Set

Last week, I talked to a crafty friend and she told me that she was so sad because the card she gave to a co-worker was thrown out.  She said that she has put so much work and effort on making the card and she was expecting the co-worker to appreciate it and at least keep it!  I know how she feels!  Which is why sometimes, you just need to work on clean and simple cards to give out to other people.  I only really give my “special cards”  to friends and family who I know will appreciate them a lot.

For todays card, I am showcasing the Punny Snacks stamp set, with Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle Dies and a bunch of other supplies available at the shop.

The Punny Snacks stamp set is perfect to create some clean and simple cards.  Don’t get me wrong, I also used this stamp set to make some very elaborate (special) cards but these images are so cute and simple and you can even create just a one-layer card.  It’s good to have a bunch of these cards in your stash for “just-because” kind of days.

I have a process video for you below.  I hope this inspired you to create some clean and simple cards!   I also listed and linked the supplies I used below.  Have a wonderful day!
