D.I.Y. Halloween Pet Bandana with Artesprix Sublimation Markers

Dress-up your pet this Halloween with this cute Bandana Project!

Learn how to create a one-of-a-kind Halloween Pet Bandana with your sublimation markers!

Hello Artesprix fans! It’s Maria Russell and it’s my turn today to share a really cute project, showcasing Artesprix’s sublimation markers and ink pad along with the Artesprix Pet Bandana in medium.

Here’s what you’ll need to create the project.

Materials:

Tools:

Artesprix Heat Press.

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Step 1.

Type and print out your pet’s name on a plain piece of typing paper.

Step 2.

Flip your design and use your pencil to draw lines, making sure you are covering your pet’s name. If you have a light box, turn it on and place your design on top.

Step 3.

Use another plain typing paper and trace your pet’s name using a pencil. [Designer tip: this method will enable you to get a silhouette of your pet’s name]. Use Artesprix’s Black Sublimation Marker in Fine Point to trace the silhouette on your typing paper.

The pencil helped me get a slight shadow of my pet's name. It made it easier for me to trace it using the sublimation marker.

Step 4.

This is what it looks like when you are done tracing the name:

By using a pencil, it will be easier to trace your pets name to get a mirror image.

Step 5.

Add some cute images on your design. I used one of my favorite Halloween stamp set and stamped them using the Artesprix Sublimation Stamp Pad.

Step 7.

It is important to use a lint roller to remove any unnecessary particles on your blank before pressing. This will ensure a clean crisp design transfer to your Artesprix Pet Bandana.

Secure your design on your blank by using Artesprix Heat Tape. [Designer tip: I used my LED light box to make sure that my images are perfectly centered. ] If you are using the Artesprix Heat Press, you only need one on each side to hold it down. If you are using an iron, you will need more. Sometimes the iron will cause the image to slip and you will get a ghost image. [Only use Artesprix Heat Tape on the outer edge of the design (not over it).]

Position your design on top of your blank and secure it with the heat tape.

Step 8.

Turn your heat press on and set the temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and the timer for 30 seconds.

Step 9.

Create your sublimation sandwich. Cut two pieces of Protective Paper to cover your project on the top and bottom. [Designer tip: Make sure that your design is facing the heat source before you heat press.] Place it inside the Heat Press and close the machine. The Heat Press will beep indicating that your project is finished!

Step 10.

While wearing protective gloves, lift the handle and take your sublimated Pet Bandana. Place the bandana on top of the Protective Project Mat and give it a few minutes to cool down. Gently remove the paper to reveal the design!

I had so much fun creating this D.I.Y Halloween Pet Bandana. The challenge for me now is to actually get my cat to wear it on Halloween!

Here’s a closer look:

I love the little ghost holding the candles and the lollipop! This design turned out to be cute and whimsical!

SUPPLIES:

Halloween Cards & Frankie Treat Box

I am back today to share with you some Halloween projects that I made using a bunch of dies and card-making supplies from KatScrappiness.Com.

October has always been my favorite time of the year to start my crafting for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. With the days getting shorter, I want to keep myself busy and create hand-made projects to give as gifts.

The first vellum LED tea light card with the skeleton was actually made a few days ago, as I wanted to display it on top of my mantle with the rest of my Halloween D.I.Y.’s.

The second card is my favorite. When I first saw this Cheery Lynn Designs Witch’s skirt die at KatScrappiness, I immediately thought of this design for a card. I thought it is pretty hilarious!

For the sake of time, I am going to keep this blog post short and show you the process video for the Witch’s Skirt/Cauldron Card and the cute Frankie Pillow Treat Box.

I hope you like the projects. Have an amazing day!

Supplies Used:

Sienna Dragonling by JLO Stamps

The spring term for the design team for www.jessicalynnoriginal.com has officially ended, but that doesn’t stop me from creating and designing for JLO Stamps.

I love coloring! It is so relaxing to just sit on my comfy chair in my craft room, listen to my favorite music and color stamp images and bring them to life!

In honor of one my favorite TV shows, Game of Thrones, I decided to color this whimsical Jasmine Becket-Griffith/Jessica Lynn Original stamp called “Sienna Dragonling”.

I first colored the image using my Copic markers, Sakura gel pens, my wink of Stella brush markers, and glossy accents, to give Sienna a whimsical look! Since this image didn’t come with a die, I took my time to fuzzy-cut the image, and then proceeded to highlight the cut edge with my black memento marker to give it a finished look.

Here is the card:

Rock Lobster Stamp Set by JessicaLynnOriginal

I am thrilled to finally be able to post photos of this new stamp set by Jessica Lynn Original called Rock Lobster. I love Brentwood, but don’t you just love that little smiley fish? It’s so adorable! Jessica is such a talented artist and a wonderful person; I am so proud to be a member of her design team.

Below you will find a photo of the stamp set. I think this will be a great addition to your collection. Just like the rest of Jessica’s stamps, this is made of high quality photo polymer material. You don’t have to be a skilled stamper to use this set.

Since today is Halloween, I wanted to create a Halloween card. I have always believed that you can use any stamp set for any occasion, with just a little imagination. I always liked stretching my stamps and dies. Since Brentwood is already dressed up as a lobster for Halloween, I figured he needed some confetti to go along and celebrate my favorite holiday! I also used my We Are Memory Keepers Fuse tool for the first time to create a flat shaker. Note to self: next time, do not touch the fuse tool with your fingers to check it it’s hot enough! Ouch!

IMG_8899

The next card is one of my all time favorites! I think everything just worked and blended together beautifully. I love the colors on this card. I used my Avery Elle Wonky Stitched rectangle die to create the frame for my shaker card. I used a combination of blue, iridescent and white sequins and seed beads for my shaker elements. A video tutorial will be posted soon on my YouTube channel so please stay tuned for that.

Halloween-Themed Pocket Letter

First of all, please let me just explain that I am not crazy and I know it’s only June, LOL!  This Pocket Letter project is a sneak peek of my challenge in July for the Facebook group, Crafters With Artitude.  I am the host for next month’s challenge and since Halloween is my favorite holiday, I decided to make the event ~ HALLOWEEN IN JULY.  There is going to be a prize for this Challenge.  Please watch the video to learn more about the details:
