Hello Kindred Stamps fans! I hope you are all having a great week so far. Maria here with you and I am super excited to write my first blog post as a design team member of Kindred stamps. I am so happy and honored to be working with these talented ladies and I hope you will also be inspired by my designs. You will also find more of my work on my blog –> Maria Russell Designs.
For my project today, I am showcasing the Witch Sisters stamp set. I love HALLOWEEN and if I can celebrate it all-year round, I definitely would.
I started by stamping my images on some Neenah Solar White Card Stock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored my images in with my Copic markers and used by precision scissors to fuzzy cut the images.
I used an apartment die from my stash to die-cut the pieces I needed to create the “cottage” for my cute little witches. I adhered the pieces onto a black card base and added the witches.
To finish my design, I fuzzy-cut a black cat image from the All Hallow’s Eve 6×6 paper pad collection by American Crafts. I colored the cat’s eyes with my Green Copic marker. I also stamped my sentiment on a scallop oval and added this piece on the awning. Here’s my card:
I really love how this card turned out. To add a little whimsical touch, I added some Stardust Stickles on the candle flame Here’s another look:
I also added a small ghost on the sentiment:
I hope you got inspired today! Please visit Kindred Stamps to purchase the Witch Sisters stamp set that I used today. Have an amazing day and happy crafting!
I am so excited to share with you today’s post! It is that time of the year again. Falling leaves, sweater weather (at least for some of you), pumpkin spice, and the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Tsuruta and the rest of her team responsible for facilitating this great hop! I don’t know how you guys do it but you all rock!
Today I made a card showcasing products from the #KatScrappiness shop (www.katscrappiness.com). THERE IS A SPECIAL COUPON CODE at the shop from September 15th to September 22nd only, so hurry and shop for all the crafty products you’ve always wanted (use coupon code: “COFFEEHOP” for 15% off your order). THERE IS ALSO A GIVEAWAY! Kat is a super sponsor and is giving away a $25 gift card from her shop. Please check all of the details for the giveaway on the www.coffeelovingcardmakers.com.
Here’s my card today and I also have a process video for you if you’d like to see how I made the card. I didn’t have the dies for this stamp set so I will also show you how I cut the image, using my Brother Scan N Cut 2. I love this machine and even though it is quite the investment, it will save you money because you don’t really have to buy coordinating dies anymore. [The part where I was showing you how I used the ScanNCut on the video was a bit shaky so I apologize for that. It was hard to film and do the cutting at the same time. I will be better next time] .
And here’s my process video. I hope you like my card. The supplies I used are listed and linked below. Have a wonderful day!
I listed all of the products I used below. Click on the link to go directly to the product. Where available, I used compensated affiliate links which means if you make a purchase I receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for your support.
Fall is in the air! Don’t you just love the short days, comfort food, colorful leaves, sweater weather and pumpkin spice? I got so inspired today by a stamp set by Newton’s Nook Designs called “Fall-ing For you” that I decided to create a fall card. This card is also my entry for the new Simon Says Stamp Challenge – Autumn.
I started out by stamping my image on Neenah Solar White card stock with my stamping tool, and colored my images using my Copic markers.
I went ahead to die-cut my card panel and mat using my new favorite die by KatScrappiness – the “Double Stitched Rectangle Nesting Dies”. These nesting dies are so versatile that I am finding myself using them in all of my paper crafting projects. I also distressed my smaller rectangle piece using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink by Tim Holtz, and used my watercolor brush to sprinkle water on my card stock to give it a distressed look.
I wanted to have some fall leaves for my card and so I decided to use my Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves die, die-cutting a bunch of fall leaves in different colors, including some vellum.
Here is my card design for today. Don’t you just love fall? I love the simplicity of this card and I hope I have inspired you today to create something beautiful, or just go outside, take a leisure-walk, and enjoy the fall weather! Have an amazing day!
