Newton’s Nook Designs and WOW embossing powders are collaborating all week long to offer you inspiration using their products together!  Both design teams will be sharing fun ways to use embossing powders on your projects using WOW embossing powders paired with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps!  We also have a GIVEAWAY so please make sure to read at the end of this blog post to find out how you can WIN.

For my project today, I am showcasing the Fall-ing For you stamp set, Autumn Leaves die set, Pines & Holly die set, with the White Puff Embossing powder by Wow!

To start, I inked up some Bristol smooth white card stock with some peacock feathers and broken china distress oxide inks.  I used my distress sprayer to spray some water on the background and dabbed it with paper towel to dry.

I die-cut the leaves using the Autumn leaves die set with some colored card stock and vellum.   I also die cut some pine needles using one of my favorite dies, the Pines & Holly die set.

I die-cut a frame using a die from my stash and added foam adhesive to this piece and set this aside.  I stamped the sentiment from the Fall-ing For You stamp set with some Versamark ink on the colored background.  I poured some White Puff embossing powder and heat-set this using my Wagner heating tool.  I foam-mounted the frame that I die-cut earlier onto my colored background.

Lastly, I added the leaves with some liquid and foam adhesives and also adhered the bow.  I added some brown jewel to finish the design.  Here’s my card:

I think combining the Fall-ing For you stamp set with the Autumn Leaves die set makes the perfect fall-theme card.  It’s simple but creates a huge impact.  This is also my first time using some Wow! Embossing powder and I really LOVE it!  Here’s a little close-up of the card:

Launch of Toy and Working Dog Breed Stamp Sets by JessicaLynnOriginal

I am really excited to share today’s blog post. We are launching two wonderful new stamp sets at Jessica Lynn Original called “Toy and Working Breed”. I have always loved dogs! I grew up with them and I can’t imagine not having a dog in my life. They are amazing, loving, funny, faithful – truly a man’s best friend!

The toy breed stamp set is very special to me. The Chihuahua image that Jessica has for this set had a striking resemblance to my beloved pet, Chi-Chi. Chi-Chi was my constant companion and I took her everywhere with me. She was very stylish and had outfits for every occasion. She was super spoiled! I lost Chi-Chi in 2013 and I was really sad for a long time that I still couldn’t bring myself to getting another Chihuahua.

When I first received the stamp set, I really had a hard time trying to think about card designs. I’ve always loved stamping, but I’ve never had stamp images that are so life-like, it was honestly hard to get creative. I am a novice with Copic markers so it was really hard for me to color the images and make it look realistic.

I decided to stamp and color a couple of the images on white card stock. I then fuzzy-cut the images and gathered my card supplies but when it came to putting the card together I was just stumped! I made one mistake after another.  I just couldn’t get creative! I left it alone for a few days and decided to look at Chi-Chi’s old photographs! For some reason, I had a light-bulb moment and got my crafty mojo back. I started with a simple card below, but then since I had all the other images already cut and colored, the ideas just kept coming. I guess it’s obvious since this is the very first time I actually have 4 card samples and one Doggie Treat bag for the launch.   You can tell I had so much fun playing around with the stamp images, I used a lot of my dies to “dress-up” the dogs.

I am not going to list all of the dies that I used for the cards because I would like to eventually post a YouTube video showing you how I made some of the cards, as well as the doggie treat bag.

Please let me know what you think about the cards or if you would like to see a tutorial for any of the cards I’ve shown today. Which one is your favorite? Screen/Panel Card

I am so happy to be chosen as one of the many talented monthly contributors for Diecut Crazy Magazine and this screen panel card below, is my first project submission. Our theme for the month of July is “Summer”. I have to admit that I was just a bit perplexed. I didn’t have any stamp sets with a summer theme. The majority of my dies are for Halloween, fall, Christmas and spring. I had to look back at some of my past projects and for some reason I couldn’t find any inspiration that would perfectly describe summer.

Processed with Moldiv IMG_4437 IMG_4438 IMG_4439 IMG_4440

In my opinion, summer is all about spending quality time with my husband and kids, traveling around, barbecues, loving the longer daylight, playing with pinwheels, kites, picking flowers, bird-watching and just generally enjoying the great outdoors! So I decided to capture these moments and showcase it through this Screen/Panel Card. The sentiment that I used for this card is exactly what summer is all about ~ it doesn’t have to be perfect to be WONDERFUL!
