Less is More with Kat Scrappiness Products

Hello Kat Scrappiness, Inc. fans! Today’s super simple card showcases the newly-released stamp set called Pawsome Dogs, along with the A2 Reverse Scallop Die Set, Pawsome Dogs Sentiments and Stitched Sentiment Strip Dies.

Here’s how I made this card:

  • stamp the images on some Neenah Classic Crest Solar white card stock.
  • color images in with alcohol markers (or any medium of your choice).
  • die-cut the images using the coordinating die or your Scan N Cut Machine.
  • die-cut some yellow, pink and blue card stock using the Stitched Sentiment Strip Dies
  • adhere the strips on an A2-size, top-folding notecard.

Sometimes, less is more when designing a cute card. This card is very simple, but I love how it turned out. Here’s another look:

You Make Rough Days Better with Newton’s Nook

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are staying safe and having a nice week so far! I am back today to share with you a very simple card, showcasing the Puppy Friends stamp set and coordinating dies along with the Petite Clouds Stencil and the following dies –> Land Borders, Sky Scene Builder and Banner Trio.

I started by creating the background first. I used masking tape to mask off the left side of some Bristol smooth A2-size white notecard. I used some distress oxide ink and the Petite Clouds stencil to create the sky. I sprayed some water on the colored panel for added texture.

Next, I removed the masking tape and used some light gray ink to stamp the sentiment “You ARFF the BEST!” in random order.

I die-cut the clouds and the grass border and adhered them on the colored panel with some liquid glue. Since I already have the image that I colored and die-cut previously, I added adhesive and tucked it behind the grass panel.

The sentiment strip was die-cut and stamped with Versamark ink and heat set with my heating tool. Positioning the sentiment was pretty easy, covering the grass panel slightly. I finished my design by adding a red heart on one of the clouds and used my black gel pen to add more depth and texture to the puppy’s eyes and nose. Here’s another look:

I hope you like this card design today. It’s pretty simple but sometimes, less is really more!

The supplies I use are listed and linked below. Thanks for stopping by today and happy stamping!

Valentine’s Day Card with Puppy Playtime by Newton’s Nook

Aaah! L’amore!  I love crafting this time of the month.  My craft desk  is full of my favorite things like hearts and sprinkles and love-themed stamps!  I just LOVE creating Valentine-themed cards and my project today showcases the Puppy Playtime stamp set and coordinating dies.

To begin, I stamped the puppy images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in using my Spectrum Noir Classique and TriBlend markers.  I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.

At first, I wanted to ground my puppies by creating a landscape background using some stencils and dies.  However, I wanted to use some amazing patterned papers that I recently purchased when I was back home.  If you have been following me for while, you know that I don’t use a lot of patterned papers on my projects; it’s just not my style!  However, I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and try something new.   I chose some cute designs and cut them into strips and layered them onto my card base.  I also die-cut a nice scallop trim to adhere at the bottom of the card.

I adhered the puppy images on the card with some liquid adhesive.  The XOXO letters were die-cut using the Essential Alphabet die set and also adhered using liquid glue.  I stamped the sentiment with some Versafine Onyx black ink.

To finish my design, I use some Nuvo crystal drops in Bubblegum Pink.   Here’s a closer look:

I hope you like my Valentine’s card today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Thank you for stopping by and happy stamping!

The whole design team will be sharing projects featuring the Doggone stamp set.  We also have a GIVEAWAY so please be sure to scroll at the end of this blog post to find out how you can WIN.  Don’t forget to visit the participating blogs (links are indicated below) and leave us some crafty love.  The new stamp sets are now available for purchase at the shop.  Here’s what the Doggone stamp set looks like:

Every order placed will be eligible for a 10% discount. Discount Code TRHD2019 this code will only be accepted until Friday June 28, 2019. EXCLUDES Dies and Crafters Essentials.  Not applicable to previous orders. May be used more than once. Does not apply to shipping and tax.

Here’s my first card:

I started by drawing the background using my Micron 0.5 fine-liner on some Neenah 110 lb. solar white card stock.

I colored this background with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers in Citrus Green, Citrus and Jade Green blends.  I made sure to go back and forth until I had the nice blending between the three colors.

I stamped the images from the Doggone stamp set and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  Since this stamp set didn’t come with coordinating dies, I die-cut the images using my Brother Scan N Cut 2 machine.

I used a die from my stash to die-cut the sentiment “hello” from some black card stock and finished my design by stamping the sentiment on the front panel and adding some red enamel hearts.  I also used my white gel pen to add more texture and interest.  Here’s a closer look at the card:

For my second card, I wanted to create a simple card that you can mass-produce.  I stamped the paw prints using versafine sepia ink on some beige card stock.  I also used a large speech bubble die to die-cut the speech bubble.

I used another die from my stash to add the “Woof” sentiment and finished my design by using my white gel pen to add some texture to the paw prints.

You Can Never Have Too Much Happy with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello Newton’s Nook fans!  Did you manage to check out last week’s May 2019 release?  Which one is your favorite?  Mine is the Walking Woofs stamp set and coordinating dies.   For my project below, I also used the Sunscape Stencil.

NNDMAY19_WalkingWoofs
Walking Woofs stamp set & coordinating dies

I was planning on filming a YouTube video when I made this card but I am a little under while I’m writing this post.

For my card below, I started with an A2 size Bristol smooth white card stock and used the Sunscape Stencil and my distress oxide inks to ink up my background.  I also stamped and colored my image in with alcohol markers.  I die-cut the image using the coordinating die.

I used the Wood Grain Frame die to die-cut the colored background.  and adhered the middle piece first on my card base.  I inked up another piece of scrap card stock with Worn Lipstick distress oxide ink and used the “happy” die from the Walking Woofs die set to die-cut part of the sentiment.

IMG_2248

I assembled the card by adhering the frame, with some foam tape and also adhered the image.  I masked the word “happy” on the sentiment and stamped it onto my foreground.  I adhered the die-cut sentiment on the card.

NNDWalkingWoofs2A

I used my white gel pen to add highlights to the hat and the flowers on her skirt.  To finish the design, I added some sparkling clear jewels.  Here’s a closer look:

Walking Woofs stamp set & coordinating dies

I am so IN-LOVE with this stamp set.  I am a dog/pet lover and when I saw this set, my heart just melted!   If hubby and I only have about about 5 acres of land, we will definitely own a dozen of dogs, 4 cats, a couple of chickens, a pigmy Llama, some guinea pigs and a Cockatoo.  Haha!   You can never have too much happy, indeed!

NNDWalkingWoofs1A

How I made the card:

  • stamp the images on Neenah solar white card stock and color the images in with alcohol markers.  I used my Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers and Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
  • use my “handmade stencil” die-cut from the Sky Borders die to add the sky with some make-up brushes and light blue ink.

IMG_2090

  • use another stencil from my stash to add the grass with some Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink.
  • stamp the sentiment on the card with some black ink.
  • color some card stock using the Spectrum Noir Orange Blend TriBlend markers and die-cut the word Happy from the die-set.
  • adhere this piece on the card with some liquid glue.
  • finish the design by adding some red hearts.

Here’s a closer look:
