Father’s Day Card Tutorial

Today’s card features my all-time favorite stamp so far, from Stampin’ Up! called Sheltering Tree.  This stamp set is so versatile and you can use it for any occasion.  I wanted to create a simple, yet elegant card for Father’s Day.  The card that I designed today is really beautiful but it is also very easy to make.  Please watch the video below and see for yourself. My Once Upon A Time Chipboard Album

I am so happy that I finally finished my Once Upon A Time chipboard album. This has been an 8-month process and I almost gave up and didn’t finish the album. After putting it away for a few months, I decided to start on it again and somehow found the inspiration to finish it.

The album is 9.5 x 11 inches and it is very heavy. It will be kept in a keepsake box to protect the decoration on the album. I used a lot of Tim Holtz and Stampin’ Up! dies to decorate the pages. It was too difficult for me to cover the DCWV paper that I used in the whole album, because the designs were just too pretty.

I know that compared to some of the albums that you see on the internet, mine is not even as beautiful as what the others have posted on YouTube; but I am quite happy and proud of what I have achieved in the whole process of putting it together.

I hope you all check it out and see if you like my album. Hopefully it will give you some ideas on how to decorate yours.

Do some crafting with your kids, grandkids, etc. and create some great memories! XO!

Gatefold Shutter Card

When I saw this video posted by France Martin, I immediately wanted to recreate this card and share with my subscribers.  I thought this card is not only unique, but also stylish.  I wanted to make my version a lot easier and I hope I achieved that on this video.  I chose a simple black and white color scheme and I thought it turned out so pretty.

Materials Used:

Card Base — Very Vanilla Card Stock — cut at 8 ½ by 5 ½, then score at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8

Shutter — Basic Black card stock (2 pieces) — cut at 3 ½ by 4. On the 4 inch side, score both pieces at ½ inch. Then on 3 ½ side pencil mark at 1 ¾ then mark at 2 inches to find the center so you can cut the fish tail for the shutter.

Center Piece — Basic Black card stock — cut at 3 by 5 ½. DSP cut at 2 ¾ x 5 1/4 . Adhere together using your TG or tombow glue. Use your large circle punch or circle framelits to cut a hole on the middle piece. This will create the window to your shutter card.

Shutter DSP — DSP cut at 5 ¼ by 1 7/8.

Bellyband — 1 by 11 inches. Fold on your card to create the bellyband. Don’t make it too tight so it can still slide in and out. Decorate according to your style.

TOOLS:

Score board and scoring tool or stylus
Bone Folder
Stampin Dimensionals or foam dots
Mini Glue Dots
Rhinestones
Adhesive (tape runner of Tombow glue)
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors
Circle Framelits (about 1 ¾ inch. In diameter)
Pansy Punch
Boho Blossoms Punch
Petite Petals Punch

French Maid Minion Card – A Blooms and Butterflies Color Challenge No. 22

The Blooms & Butterflies Team was given a task to create a card using the colors Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight. It is indeed very challenging. I have made a Minion Card before and it is my most pinned creation on Pinterest. I thought the color combination will be perfect to create a French Maid Minion Card. So here it is.  I have made some adjustments to the card.  I noticed on the photo that the glue dots were showing a little bit so I managed to tuck it in, and also fixed the Minion’s hair so it doesn’t show.
