Life is Better in Flip Flops

Hello everyone!  First of, let me apologize because this is my second post for the day.  I belong to a couple of design teams and I am doing a double-whammy kind of day!  Having said this, I am really looking forward to a short break.  I am currently back home in the Sunshine State, enjoying wearing tank tops, shorts and flip flops!

For my project today, I am showcasing the Flip Flop Life stamp set and Flip Flop Life coordinating dies.

I started out by die-cutting my frame and the other card stock that I needed for my project.  I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  Since this is a summer-themed project, I wanted to create a card with cheerful colors.    I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.

I adhered my stitched circle patterned frame onto my card base and also adhered the little flip flops.  To finish my design, I die-cut a piece of black card stock using a banner frame.  I stamped the sentiment using Versafine ink and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  I was going to add some glossy accents to the straps to make it shiny, but I didn’t have enough time to wait to let it dry before I take my photos.  I made this project a few hours before I left for the airport.  Anyways, here is my card:

Oh, I also added a small white bow just to make it cuter! Haha! Here’s another look:

Is anyone else enjoying the flip flops, shorts and a lot of sunshine?  I hope so!  I’m thinking about you all as I sip my Pina Colada’s by Cocoa Beach!

I hope you like my project today.  Please visit Newton’s Nook Designs to check out the July release.   I left the coupon code below if you’d like to avail of the promo going on until July 27, 2018.  Have an amazing day and happy crafting!

Just A Little Hello

Howdy Kat Scrappiness fans!  Maria here on the blog today with a simple card, showcasing the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set.  If you are waiting for this die-set, you are in luck because they are arriving back in stock next week!  If you haven’t ordered this yet, you can now reserve it so that you don’t have to wait again.

To make things easier for me, I started out by choosing a sketch pattern from the Kat Scrappiness site (you can see this photo on the product sample).  I downloaded this sketch and inserted this piece in the envelope with the dies so I can use them for my future projects.  Sometimes, it is helpful to have it when you’re not feeling crafty!  I am having one of those days since the majority of my supplies are currently loaded in a shipping container, en-route to our home in FL.

I die-cut some A2 size card stock with the rounded-edge rectangle die.  I used the same die to die-cut a patterned paper.

I used the long strip die that is included in the set to die-cut another piece of some white card stock (slightly a different color from my card base).  I also used the stars die to die-cut  one pin pink, blue and yellow.

I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the image with the coordinating die.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and used my belli-roll pen to add more details to the images.  Here’s my card:

I love the simplicity of this card.  I didn’t do a lot as you can tell, but it turned out really cute!  This sketch is also perfect to create a “Welcome Baby” card.  Here’s another look:

This Crafter’s Essentials 1 die setis definitely a must-have for any paper crafter.  I think the little stitched star die is just the right size to add to your projects.  I love the stitching details to it as well.

I hope you like my card today.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order at the shop.  Don’t forget to check the clearance section too!  I wish you all a wonderful day!  Happy crafting!

A Happy Hello Featuring Crafter’s Essentials 2 Die

I’m so excited to share today’s post because we are launching a new product at Kat Scrappiness called Crafter’s Essentials 2 die set.   This set includes 8 steel rule dies.  You can also pair them up with the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set and you will have endless design possibilities.  Here’s what it looks like:

I made two cards today to showcase the Crafter’s Essentials 2 die set and I have a process video for the mermaid card that you will see below.

For my first card, I used an older stamp set from my stash and made a simple card.   I love the stitching details  on the banner and the bigger dies.

I also used the Everyday Brush Strokes stamp set for my sentiment.  Don’t you just love the chevron pattern on the big die?   Here’s another look:

I added some black dots on the card base to give it a little bit more dimension.  Here’s a little close-up:

For my second card, I wanted to create a happy, summer-themed card.  I used a stamp set that I recently purchased with this cute cat mermaid.  I also used the Sunscape stencil die by Newton’s Nook Designs.

I started out by inking up some Bristol smooth white card stock with Squeezed Lemonadeand Spiced Marmalade distress oxide inkwith my mini ink blending tool.  Since I have a process video for this card, I will keep this blog post short.

I inlaid the little chevron pieces on my card.  I also added the Sparkling Clear Jewels to make them look like bubbles.  Here’s a little close-up:

This card makes me happy.  I love the colors that I used and this die-set is a must-have!  Here’s another look:

Here’s my process video:

I hope you got inspired today.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  I’d be so grateful if you can also subscribe to my YouTube channel.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order.   Have a nice day and happy crafting!

CardMaker Magazine Blog Hop featuring JessicaLynnOriginal Stamps

I am just so excited for today’s blog hop as we are collaborating with CardMaker Magazine plus we can use whatever favorite stamps we like from JLO Stamps!  There will be a FREE DIGITAL STAMP for all – anyone can visit www.jessicalynnoriginal.com and download that digital stamp.

PRIZES, PRIZES!  To be eligible to win a $50 Gift Card good for ANYTHING at Jessica Lynn Original’s website, we ask that you please leave a comment on each blog. Jessica will pick one winner.

Are you ready to see the cards?  The first one that you see here is a Halloween-themed card. This stamp is called Ghost of Christmas Past. I must admit that I overly-embellished this card. A common occurrence when I have my creativity mojo going. Sometimes I get really carried away. This card must have taken me 4 hours to make. It was a lot of work, but totally worth it. My husband keeps commenting that my cards are so detailed and embellished that they will be too expensive to sell. I don’t really sell my cards. I mostly give it to friends. I love that when they get my cards, they like it so much that they put it in a frame and display it at their home offices! That is a huge compliment for me! I feel that if I don’t take my time or put a lot of effort into making my cards, what’s the point of even making one?

With the exception of the pumpkins, everything has been handmade/die cut by yours truly!

IMG_8360

The second card is one of my favorites. It’s so simple but adorable at the same time. I used two stamp sets for this card. The owl is one of my favorites from JLO Stamps. She is called “Ruby With a Martini” and the cute bat is from “Ghost of Christmas Past”. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I make a lot of Halloween cards and scrapbook layouts.

The third card is a Valentine-themed card. I love the simplicity of this one. I love Jessica’s sentiments on this stamp set as well. I think she has the most amazing handwriting I’ve ever seen.

IMG_8459

Last but not the least, is a birthday card!  Today is MY birthday so of course I have to make a birthday card somehow.  I combined two digital stamps on this card, and used some of my confetti stamps to create the confetti background.  I also used my magnolia doohickey balloon dies to cut out the cute little balloons that you see below.  I wanted this card to be happy, girly and adorable.
