An Easy, Peasy Card with Newton’s Nook

Hello friends! I have another easy, peasy card to share with you today featuring Newton Love’s Tacos Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies with the Banner Trio Die Set and Meow Stencil by Newton’s Nook Designs.

I started by stamping the image on some X-Press It Blending Card and colored the image in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to cut it out.

Next, I prepared the background by inking it up with distress oxide inks in Shaded Lilac, Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar, I used the Meow Stencil to add some interest and texture to the background. I adhered this panel on some A2-size top-folding card base.

I added the focal image on the card panel with liquid glue. The last thing to do was to add the sentiment. I die-cut the sentiment strip using one of the dies from the Banner Trio Die Set and stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink. I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set with the heating tool. I adhered the sentiment with liquid glue.

Easy, peasy, isn’t it? I love creating clean and simple cards! Below, you will find links to the supplies used to create this project(s). Where available, I use compensated affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Your support helps me to keep bringing you new projects and inspiration. Thank you for stopping by, and have an amazing day!

NND OCTOBER Release Day 4 – PREHISTORIC CHRISTMAS, ChRISTMAS PHEASANT & HEARTFELT HOLIDAYS

It’s the last day of the reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs and we are featuring three products today. If you haven’t hopped along with us yet, now is a great time to catch up. You have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through ’til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on WordPress is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For Day 4, we are showcasing the Prehistoric Christmas Stamp & Dies, Christmas Pheasant Stamp & Dies with the Heartfelt Holidays that coordinates with the previously released Heart Frames & Banner Trio Dies.

The first card is clean and simple. I die-cut the scallop frame from the Frames & Flags Die Set and used masking tape to mask off the card stock. I ink-blended this panel with some Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Mustard Seed distress oxide inks.

I sprayed the panel with water and picked up the excess with some paper towel, and adhered this on an A2-size white notecard.

Next, I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating die to cut them out. I added the images on the card using liquid glue. I finished the design by adding the sentiment, and glittery stars to give it a whimsical touch.

I am starting to really LOVE creating clean and simple card so the next project is another easy one. A one-layer card is a the way to go!

I basically repeated the steps that I did above with the ink-blending and coloring the images. I also stamped the trees from the Festive Forest Stamp Set and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I popped-up the first tree with foam adhesive and added the other two with liquid glue. I also foam-mounted the focal image to make it stand out, finishing the design by stamping the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

And last but not the least is the Heartfelt Holidays project. For all you coloring people out there, this is another must-have!

For a cohesive look, I only used some variations of green and red! Nothing too busy here! I just LOVE the simplicity of this stamp set and I am so happy that Newton’s Nook is adding more stamp set to match the Heart Frames Die Set.

I finished my card design by stamping the sentiment on some red card stock and used the Banner Trio Die Set to cut it out. I foam-mounted this onto the card for added dimension.

So there you have it folks! If you hopped along with us throughout this week, I’d LOVE to hear what your favorites are! I hope you have been inspired by the design team all week long! The products will be available tomorrow so grab your favorites first thing before they sell out!

Sweet Treats Blog Hop with Newton’s Nook Designs

nndsweettreatsbloghopsq

The Newton’s Nook Design Team is hopping along today to share some Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentines dayMake sure to scroll down at the bottom of this post to see the whole list, and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

For my project today, I am showcasing the Heartfelt Love stamp set, along with the Banner Trio Die and Heart Frames die set.

To begin, I stamped my image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers.  I die-cut the image that I colored using the scallop die from the Heart Frames die set.

To turn the die-cut into a tag, I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the middle.  I inserted the eyelet and used my Crop-A-Dile again to set the eyelet and finish the tag.

I want a bigger treat holder this year to house my husband’s special treat.  I used a recycled glass jar that I washed in my dishwasher.  I added some pink shredded paper at the bottom for added color and texture.  Next, I poured the whole bag of Reese’s pieces (my husband’s favorite chocolate) inside the jar.   The glass jar is big enough to hold all of the chocolates inside.   I added more shredded paper on top and closed the jar with the lid.  I cut some red felt to cover the top of the jar and used some red and white twine to hold it shut.  I inserted my tag and created a loop, then finished it with a bow.  I also die-cut some arrows to decorate the top of the jar and adhered them with liquid glue.

To finish my tag design, I die-cut some black card stock using the Banner Trio die.  I stamped the sentiment on this piece and sprinkled some white embossing powder.  I used my heating tool to heat-set the sentiment and waited for this piece to cool for a few seconds.  To add more texture to the the sentiment, I used my Spectrum Noir Glittered Pens to add color to the word “HEART”.  Here’s another look:

I’ve always loved recycling glass jars and this treat holder turned out so cute with just a few supplies from my collection, and stamps & dies from Newton’s Nook Designs!  My hubby is going to LOVE this!  Don’t forget to join us and hop along to win one of the prizes.  Full details about the hop is indicated below.  I have also listed and linked the supplies I use.  Thanks for joining me today!

NND January Release Day 1 -Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Roses

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and/or stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For the first day of the reveals we are featuring the Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Love Stamp sets, along with the Heart Frames die that also coordinates with the previously released Banner Trio die set.

To make my first card, I started by using the Heart Frames die set to die-cut the scallop heart with some Neenah solar white card stock.  I stamped the image on this piece with some Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I also used the biggest die to die-cut some red card stock.

Next, I used the third stitched die from the set, and die-cut the scallop panel that I previously colored.  I adhered the outer layer on the red card stock with liquid glue, then foam-mounted the middle piece for added dimension.  This gave it some nice layers without overwhelming the whole design.

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink on the sentiment strip that I die-cut using one of the dies from the Banner Trio die set, and adhered with my tape runner in the middle of the card.

The second card is relatively simple but I really LOVE how this one turned out.

I die-cut the scallop frame on some Bristol Smooth white card stock using the scallop doe from the Frames & Flags die set.  I positioned this panel inside my Misti stamping tool and stamped the images twice with some Versafine Onyx black ink.  I colored the images in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.   I forgot how much I love these markers!

I die-cut the arrows using a retired die-set called Points & Plumes and adhered onto the panel with liquid glue for added texture.  I stamped the sentiment on a die-cut strip from the Banner Trio die set, with some Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder, before heat-setting with my heating tool.  I foam-mounted this piece onto the  card.

Lastly, I finished my design by adding some clear mirror confetti dots for added texture.  Here’s another look:

Not A Creature Was Stirring…..

Hello Newton’s Nook fans! I’m back today to share with you this cute “cheesy” Christmas card, showcasing the Naughty & Mice stamp set and coordinating dies, along with the Banner Trio die setPines & Holly die set and Circle Frames die set.

To make my card, I die-cut an A2 size panel of some yellow card stock and used one of the circle die from the Circle Frames die set to die-cut a few holes.  I wanted this piece to look like “cheese”.  I inked up this panel with some Fossilized Amber distress oxide ink to create some shadows for added texture.  I foam-mounted this piece on an A-2 size card base for added dimension and my scissors to cut-off the excess.

Next, I stamped the mice on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in my alcohol markers.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I die-cut the pine boughs using the Pines & Holly die set and adhered on the card with liquid glue.

I added the mice with foam adhesive and finished my design by adding the sentiment strip that was die-cut using the Banner Trio die set.  Easy Peasy!  Here’s another look:

I hope you like my card today.  The supplies I use are listed and linked below.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have an amazing day!
