Prayers & Hugs Coming Your Way

Hello everyone! It’s Maria Russell here with you today. It’s been awhile since I made a project for Kat Scrappiness. I was traveling for two weeks and if you have been following me here on my blog, you’ll probably know that I got sick. I am on the mend now but it is taking a lot longer than expected which is making me a little miserable!

I apologize that I don’t have a process video for you today because it takes awhile for me to create a project right now. I can’t sit still for so long and look down so I constantly take a break and walk so I don’t get any pains. Please bear with me as I get better and I promise to make more process videos once I am over this hump.

For my shaker card today, I am showcasing the Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy Stamps and Dies, the Prayers Stamps and Die set, with the Wood Floorboard Prints Cling stamp, as well as the White Diamond sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness, and a lot more supplies available at Kat Scrappiness online store.

I started out by stamping and layering my images on Neenah solar white card stock using three Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers, Guava and Lobster ink. I die-cut the flowers using the coordinating dies.

I stamped my background using the wood floorboard cling stamp with light- gray ink. I wanted a subtle background for my card because I wanted the main focal point to stand out, which are the poppies!

I die-cut the prayers die using a dark gray card stock, and stamped my sentiment using the Hippo Ink on my card front.

I ran my flowers, branches and die cut sentiment using my favorite Xyron sticker maker and Mega Tape Runner. I also adhered my acetate sheet using glue dots, and created my shaker window panel with scotch foam tape. I added my favorite White Diamond sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness and adhered my window panel to my card base.

I finished off my design by sponging my Neenah white card stock with the Tim Holtz worn lipstick distressed oxide ink to match the color of the dot details on my shaker card.

Here is the card. I hope you like it and got inspired today. The supplies I have used are listed and linked below. Have a great weekend!

DCWV/Xyron – Tag Mini Album

Hello my crafty friends! I am so excited to share with you today’s post because the Xyron design team is teaming up with DCWV.  My project today is an inspirational Tag/Mini Album, using stamps from my stash, showcasing this beautiful paper pack by DCWV called “Meet Me in Paris”.  A huge “thank you” to DCWV and Xyron for all of the amazing products we got to play with. They are extremely beautiful!

Here are the supplies I got to play with.

IMG_4805

I started out by die-cutting my tags using the beautiful paper packs and a tag die by Kat Scrappiness.  I distressed the tags with my distress ink using my sponge to make the tags look a little more vintage.   I also used my Xyron mega tape runner to adhere both tags to make it a little more sturdy.

For my tag below, I used an Eiffel tower die from my stash that I die-cut in gold.   I then used my Xyron Creative Station Lite to adhere the die-cut on my first tag.  I did the same process for all of my tags.

Here are the photos of the individual tags.  The first one is a shaker tag:

Here’s a photo of all of the tags.  I really love how it turned out:

Here’s what the tag mini album look like with the binder clip.  I also embellished the album with a gold tassel and a silver key.

I hope you got inspired today and like my project.  If you are interested to purchase DCWV paper packs, they are available online at http://www.joann.com.

Amazing Sister Card with Newton’s Nook Lovely Blooms

Hello my crafty peeps!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  I am back today to share a card that I made for my sister, showcasing the Newton’s Nook Lovely Blooms stamp set and dies.  This stamp set is a must-have and is one of my favorites.

I have a process video for you today.  Just a little disclaimer though, I didn’t realize that my cat was on my craft table in my studio and had shifted my tripod a little bit so I was out of frame when I was recording the video.  I didn’t want to film the whole process again so I apologize for that.   I will make sure to NOT make the same mistake the next time and will check the camera while filming.  Thank you for understanding.

Here’s the card:

I hope you like my card and got inspired.  You will find the process video below. The supplies I have used are listed and linked if you are interested.  Have a wonderful day!

Newton’s Nook Designs April Release – Lovely Blooms

NND_ReleaseIconApril17

For today’s card, I am showcasing the Lovely Blooms stamp set and its coordinating dies. I absolutely LOVE this set.  You can use this for any occasion, especially for Mother’s Day (and let’s not forget our beloved Grandmas or beautiful daughters)!  I love the script fonts that Jennifer had added to the set as well.  This Lovely Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies will be available for purchase on Friday, April 14, at 8:00 a.m. CST.

NND_17April_LovelyBlooms

I wanted to try out my new Distress Oxide Inks and so I started out by distressing my Neenah solar white card stock, combining the Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade Oxide inks.   I LOVE THIS COLOR COMBO!  The inks were so creamy it was so easy to achieve the color that I wanted for my flowers!  I also used the same technique for my leaves, combining Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide with the Pine Needs Distress Ink.  I then stamped my images with Versamark ink and used my white embossing powder to heat set it.

IMG_4645

I also wanted a little shaker element for my card and immediately thought about creating a mason jar shaker.  I used my exact knife to cut out a little window, and adhered acetate to my card using my liquid glue.  I adhered the little branches on my mason jar and used foam tape around the edges to create my shaker panel.  For my shaker elements, I used seed beads from my stash.

IMG_4646

I finished off the design of the card by dry-embossing my card panel, and adhering the flowers and mason jar with my Xyron Mega Tape runner and foam adhesives.  I used a banner die to stamp my sentiment for the card.  I also used my Spectrum Noir Glitter brush markers to add glitter to my flowers.   I know you can’t really see the glitter on the photo but in real life, they are beautiful!

This card is for my Mother:

Easter Interactive Cards with Xyron Plus More Spring Cards Inspiration

Hello stampers and crafters! I hope you’re having a great day so far. Thanks for joining me today. I am back to share with you some Easter cards that I have made ages ago. I forgot how I loved making interactive cards.  For the Easter cards you see below, I have made a ton of them back when I first started paper crafting. I didn’t have enough supplies then so it is really more fun for me to re-create them now. These cards can be easily mass-produced!  They are so simple!

I started out by die-cutting my white card stock and patterned papers using my oval dies.  I also die-cut a ¾ inch. colored card stock and adhered it to the center of the patterned paper. To create the “cracked” look on the “egg” and to be able to open and close the card, I used my Lawn Fawn stitched scallop edge die. By doing this process, it will ensure that your patterned paper are perfectly lined up together.

Using my Xyron Teresa Collins Mega Runner adhesive, I adhered the bottom decorative patterned paper to the card base. I then used my paper punch to punch a hole on the top panel, and inserted a decorative brad so I can open and close the card.

img_4070

I stamped my little chick image on Neenah solar white card stock (twice) and colored him in with my Copic markers. I fuzzy cut the images with my precision-cut scissors and used my Xyron mega tape runner again to adhere the image inside the card.

img_4071

To finish off the design, I stamped my sentiments on both cards, and covered the brad with some decorative flowers. Aren’t they adorable? They are so easy to make. Even little kids will love creating these interactive Easter cards.

Here are some other spring-related cards that I designed before and recreated for this blog post using my Xyron tape Runner and Sticker Maker. I hope I have given you some inspiration to create some cute Easter and spring cards. Happy crafting!
