Chocolate Shaker Card with Kat Scrappiness

Are you looking for a simple Valentine’s Day card without all the hearts and romantic stuff? Or just a simple “just-because” card to brighten someone’s day?  For my project today, I am showcasing the Layered Chocolate Bar 6″ x 8″ stamp set, the Chocolate Lover’s Sentiment stamp set, Sparkling Manhattan sequin mix, Distressed Edge Rectangle dies and the Wonky Wavy Stitched Rectangle dies.

I started out by stamping the layered chocolate bar stamp using my Tim Holtz Tonic stamp platform with my memento tuxedo black ink.  I used my precision-cut scissors to fuzzy-cut the images.

I also cut the little chocolate squares to add to my project.

IMG_6824

It has been awhile since I made a shaker card so I thought I’d make them today.  I die-cut my 110 lb. white card stock with the wonky wavy stitched dies.  I die-cut the middle using the second of the largest piece of the distressed edge rectangle dies to create the window.

I cut a piece of acetate to cover the window and adhered the chocolate bar at the bottom left side corner.  I added some 3M foam tape.  I decided to use my Cinnamon Swirl Mix sequins for my shaker element and the chocolate squares but since the sequin mix I used is not available anymore at the store, you can also use the Sparkling Manhattan sequin mix.  to finish the design, I stamped my sentiment using my Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink to give it a little bit of color.

Here’s the close-up of the card:

I love this stamp set because the chocolate image looks so realistic!  There are so many possibilities using this stamp set.

At The Beach Scrapbook Layout

Hello my crafty friends!  I am so excited to share my very first post for the Paperhouse Productions and today and I am sharing a very simple scrapbook layout showcasing the At The Beach 12 x 12 Paper Crafting Kit.  This pack is AMAZING as it contains card stock and puffy stickers to embellish, plus other ephemeras to decorate my project.  I thought it’s perfect to showcase the photos that I took while my husband, daughter and I were in The Maldives in July of 2016.

I started out by printing a couple of my photos with my colored printer and cut these photos down to size.    When I do scrapbook layouts, I kind of just go with what I feel that day and I don’t overthink about making sure the lines and photos are all perfect!  It is after all, a handmade project!

I adhered the photos with my favorite adhesive and added some of the embellishments.  I LOVE the puffy stickers that were included in At The Beach Paper 12 x 12 Paper Crafting Kit.  Here’s what it looks like:

I also added the card stock stickers and journaling cards that are included in the pack:

I adhered the alphabet stickers and the rest of my embellishments to finish my design. Here’s what it looks like:

I hope you all got inspired today!  Don’t forget to check out the beautiful paper products available at www.paperhouseproductions.com.  I also listed and linked the supplies that I used below.  Have a wonderful day!

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe and Peppermint Cards

Are you all done making your Christmas cards yet? I certainly am not. My travels kind of put me behind schedule so I am trying to catch up this week before I ventured off again to my next destination.

For my card below, I am showcasing the Pug Hugs, with the Holiday Smooches, Holiday Hounds and the Llama Delivery stamp sets by Newton’s Nook Designs. I love mixing and matching my stamp sets to create my scene.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers. Since I didn’t want to leave a white border around the images, I decided to fuzzy-cut the Santa hat as well as the Pug. I also die-cut a birch tree from a die I have from my collection.

I used the Frames and Flags die set to create the frame for my card. I die-cut the frames on Bristol Smooth White card stock and on 110 lb. red card stock. I also used the land border dies to die-cut a snowy hill for my Pug.

IMG_6362

To create my sky background, I used my mini ink-blending tool with broken china distress oxide ink then sprayed water using my distress sprayer. I used a paper towel to dab it dry.

I adhered the birch tree, snowy hill and my Pug to the card front. I stamped the mistletoe directly onto my background and colored the image with my Copic marker. I used my white Nuvo crystal drops to create dimension on the berries and the Santa hat. I also adhered the presents next to the Pug.

To finish my design, I used my Sharpie white pen and added dots to my card to create the look of snow.

Here’s my card:

I also wanted to include two cards that I recently made using the new Peppermint die set. This die is a must-have for any paper crafter.

I hope you like my projects today and got inspired. The supplies I used are listed and linked below if you are interested. Have a great day!

Thankful For You – Kat Scrappiness – Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

FallCoffeeLoversBlogHop Photo

I am so excited to share with you today’s post!  It is that time of the year again.  Falling leaves, sweater weather (at least for some of you), pumpkin spice, and the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Amy Tsuruta and the rest of her team responsible for facilitating this great hop!  I don’t know how you guys do it but you all rock!

Today I made a card showcasing products from the #KatScrappiness shop (www.katscrappiness.com).    THERE IS A SPECIAL COUPON CODE at the shop from September 15th to September 22nd only, so hurry and shop for all the crafty products you’ve always wanted (use coupon code: “COFFEEHOP” for 15% off your order).  THERE IS ALSO A GIVEAWAY!  Kat is a super sponsor and is giving away a $25 gift card from her shop.  Please check all of the details for the giveaway on the www.coffeelovingcardmakers.com.

Here’s my card today and I also have a process video for you if you’d like to see how I made the card.  I didn’t have the dies for this stamp set so I will also show you how I cut the image, using my Brother Scan N Cut 2.  I love this machine and even though it is quite the investment, it will save you money because you don’t really have to buy coordinating dies anymore. [The part where I was showing you how I used the ScanNCut on the video was a bit shaky so I apologize for that.  It was hard to film and do the cutting at the same time. I will be better next time] .

And here’s my process video.  I hope you like my card.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Have a wonderful day!

DCWV/Xyron – Tag Mini Album

Hello my crafty friends! I am so excited to share with you today’s post because the Xyron design team is teaming up with DCWV.  My project today is an inspirational Tag/Mini Album, using stamps from my stash, showcasing this beautiful paper pack by DCWV called “Meet Me in Paris”.  A huge “thank you” to DCWV and Xyron for all of the amazing products we got to play with. They are extremely beautiful!

Here are the supplies I got to play with.

IMG_4805

I started out by die-cutting my tags using the beautiful paper packs and a tag die by Kat Scrappiness.  I distressed the tags with my distress ink using my sponge to make the tags look a little more vintage.   I also used my Xyron mega tape runner to adhere both tags to make it a little more sturdy.

For my tag below, I used an Eiffel tower die from my stash that I die-cut in gold.   I then used my Xyron Creative Station Lite to adhere the die-cut on my first tag.  I did the same process for all of my tags.

Here are the photos of the individual tags.  The first one is a shaker tag:

Here’s a photo of all of the tags.  I really love how it turned out:

Here’s what the tag mini album look like with the binder clip.  I also embellished the album with a gold tassel and a silver key.

I hope you got inspired today and like my project.  If you are interested to purchase DCWV paper packs, they are available online at http://www.joann.com.

InkyPaws45Doily

I started out by stamping my image on Neenah Solar White card stock and colored my image in with my Copic markers. I die-cut the image with its coordinating die.   I also die-cut my decorative frame and other embellishments for the card with dies that I have from my stash.
