Newton’s Nook Designs June Release – Playful Pandas

NNDJune18ReleaseIcon

I get super excited each month as we start our reveals of the new stencils, stamp set and dies by Newton’s Nook Designs.   You also have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For our first reveal day, the design team is showcasing the two new stencils called Serene Stripes and Sunscape, with the Playful Pandas stamp set and coordinating dies.  Here’s what they looks like:

NNDJune18_Stencils

NNDJune18_PlayfulPandas

I know this sounds redundant but each reveal month, I am just blown away by the talented Jennifer Jackson.   It seems that every month, it just gets better and better!

For my first card, I stamped the images on some white card stock with my Tim Holtz stamp platform and memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored the images in with my Copic markers.  This did not take a long time since Pandas are generally black and white, but I highlighted them with some light gray Copic marker to give it more dimension.  I die-cut the Pandas and bamboo with the coordinating dies.

I cut an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock and colored my background using the new Sunscape stencil, with my mini ink blending tool.  I used Picked Raspberry and Tattered Rose distress Oxide Inks.   I die-cut the card stock with a die from my stash.  I adhered the acetate sheet and added foam adhesive to create my well for my shaker card.

I added some sparkling clear sequins by Kat Scrappiness, and adhered my card base onto the shaker to secure my shaker elements.  I die-cut some mint green card stock using the Sky borders die.  I wanted to make it look like grassy hills.  I adhered the hills on top of the acetate, and glued the pandas and bamboo as well.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment “Pada-monium” on my card.  Here’s what it looks like:

NNDPlayfulPandas2

Don’t you just love those little pandas?  They are adorable!

NNDPlayfulPandas2A

I love the colors that I used on this card.  The pandas are so cute and I love the new Sunscape stencil.  Here’s another close-up:

NNDPlayfulPandas2B

For my second card, I wanted to make a different design by adding the pandas in the middle of the card.

I colored some white card stock using the Serene stripes stencil with Lucky Clover distress oxide ink and my mini-ink blending tool.  I die-cut another piece of some white card stock using a border die from my stash, and adhered these two pieces with foam adhesive.  I finished my design by adhering the pandas, balloons and bamboo in the middle of the card.  Here’s the card:

NNDPlayfulPandas1

I added some white dots to the cheeks, balloons and also the bamboo.  Here’s a little close-up:

Just Chicken-In Card – New Die at Kat Scrappiness

Hello my crafty peeps!  I am super excited to share this post because today, we are launching a new die by Kat Scrappiness called Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Background Die.  This die is designed by Kathleen herself and it is AMAZING!  It gives a nice wood grain-embossed details on the die-cut.  Here’s what it looks like:

IMG_8538

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock with my Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I fuzzy-cut the images using my precision cut scissors.

I used some older dies by Lawn Fawn to die-cut the grass hills and the picket fence.

I die-cut some silver foiled card stock using the new die.  I also used another light tan card stock to die-cut the same piece so I can layer them together.  For the second piece, I cut the wires using my scissors, and adhered this piece onto the silver foiled card stock.  I adhered an acetate sheet to this piece, then added foam adhesive to create my little well for my shaker card.

I cut an A2 size card stock for my card base.  I used the Sunburst Layering Stencils by Honeybee Stamps (also available at the shop) to color my card base.  I used a clouds stencil die to add the clouds.

I added the Walking on Sunshine sequin mix inside the well and adhered my card base on top to create my shaker card.  I adhered the chicken and the little chicks onto the foreground.

To finish my design, I die-cut some white card stock using the Stitched Flag Dies and stamped the sentiment.  I added this piece to my card with a pink bow.

KatScrapChickenWire1A

I love, love, love this new die!  I love that it also embosses the die-cut.  This die will also be great to create some layers, or do an inlaid technique.  The possibilities are endless!

KatScrapChickenWire1B

You guys should also check out the new sequin mixes at the shop.  This Walking on Sunshine sequin mix is so cheerful and the colors are so vibrant!  I chose this mix to make it look like corn kernels 🙂

Please check out the new products available now at www.katscrappiness.com.   This new die is a must-have!  I hope you like my shaker card and wishing you all a wonderful day!  Happy crafting!

I don’t know about you, but I like to keep a stash of “just-because” cards to give to family and friends.  I love the “Ghost Inlaid Technique” that I added to this card using the Condensed Lowercase Alphabet Dies and even though it looks complicated, it really isn’t.  I have a process video for you all today (linked below) so I will keep this blog post short.

Here’s what the card looks like.  I added some cute girly, eyelashes to the soda image on the left side.

KatScrapMFEO1B

Also added some black polka dots to the whole background to finish it off.  I LOVE the cute little smiley faces from the Punny Snack stamp set.  They are adorable!

KatScrapMFEO1A

This M.F.E.O. Quote is one of my favorite scenes from the movie, Sleepless in Seattle.  I thought it was really funny!

Woodland Buddies by Not2Shabby

Hello everyone! I am guest-designing today at Not2Shabby shop and I made three cards, showcasing the Woodland Buddies stamp set.  I have a process video for the birthday card, which I will link below.

I was supposed to join the YouTube Hop last month but my camera stand gave up and I couldn’t film the process for the other two cards that I made earlier.  I ordered a new one but it took awhile for the new camera stand to arrive, which is why I’m only sharing this now.

Here’s the first card that I made:

For the second card, I used one of my favorite dies by Simon Says Stamp, a Sunburst Stencil from MFT Stamps.

Not2ShabbyWoodland3

To finish my design I added glossy accents to the hearts.

We’ve Moved Card with Newton’s Nook

Hello Newton’s Nook fans!  I hope you guys were able to join us last week for the May stamps and dies release by Newton’s Nook Designs.  I am back today to share with you a simple card, showcasing the Newton Loves Boxes stamp set and coordinating dies.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut another piece of white card stock and dry-embossed it with the new Framework Die set.   I used another die from my stash to die-cut the window.  I adhered my image inside the window and finished the design by adding the stamp from the In Slow Motion stamp set.  Also added the flowers from the the Deer Friend stamp set.    Here’s my card:

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes3

I just absolutely love the simplicity for this card.

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes3A

This card is going to be massed-produced since hubby and I will be moving location soon.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Newton Loves Boxes & Newton’s Donut

NNDReleaseIcon18May

It is the last day of the May reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs  and we are doing a double-whammy kind of day!  Don’t forget to check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post for a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For our projects, the design team is showcasing the Newton Loves Boxes stamp set and coordinating die with Newton’s Donut stamp set and coordinating die.   I love, love, love these two stamp sets!

NNDMAY18NewtonLovesBoxes

NNDMAY18NewtonsDonut

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.  I had planned on creating two Clean and Simple cards today.  The images are so cute and I wanted these images to pop.

I dry-embossed two (2) A2 size card stocks with the Postage die from the Framework die set (revealed last Monday), with my Sizzix Premium Crease Pad.  As I previously mentioned, I am really loving this dry-embossed look.  I die-cut a little window from a wonky square die from my stash.

To finish my design, I stamped the stars from the Cosmic Newton stamp set on my foreground using a very light gray ink.  These stars gave a subtle background but the main focus is still the image.  Here’s my first card:

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1

Don’t you just LOVE this image?  I completely adore this!  I have a Persian cat named Chloe and I often find her hidden inside a box with her tail sticking out!  Haha! This is so cute!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1B

I think this image is my favorite in the stamp set!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1A

Here’s my second card:

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes2

I cannot get over how cute these images really are!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes2A

For my second project, I created the same embossed look with the Postage die from the Framework die set.  I also die-cut two tags using the Fancy Edges Tag die set, and the bow from my favorite Pines and Holly die set.  I adhered the pieces on my card base and finished the design by adding glossy accents to the sprinkles to make them pop.  Here’s my card:

NNDNewtonsDonut1

Isn’t this the best double-whammy kind of day?  I absolutely adore these two stamp sets we revealed today!  I think they are not only cute, but they are very unique!

NNDNewtonsDonut1A

The design is pretty busy but by using the neutral colored background and matching it with the tag and bow, it just worked perfectly!

NNDNewtonsDonut1B

Did you get inspired this week?  I hope you love the reveals as much as we did showcasing each stamp set and dies!  I’d love to know your favorites from the May release.

Would you like to win the “Newton Loves Boxes” or the “Newton’s Donut” Stamp Set?  Each stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Papa Bear

NNDReleaseIcon18May

It is the third day of the May reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   Are you loving what you’re seeing so far?  Don’t forget to check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post for a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Papa Bear stamp set and coordinating dies.   This stamp set is perfect for Father’s Day cards or just about any occasion.   We don’t really have to wait for Father’s Day to make a card for our Dads (husbands, grand fathers, etc.) so this stamp set is a definite “must-have”!

NNDMAY18PapaBear

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.

I die-cut another piece of white card stock, using the scallop die from the Frames and Flags die set.  Using my handmade clouds stencil made from the Sky Borders die that I created awhile back, I colored the background with my mini ink blending tools and distress oxide.  I also used another handmade stencil to create the hills.

I used a scallop die that I have from my stash to die-cut the middle piece to create a little window.  I adhered this piece on my card base.  I die-cut a yellow card stock with a sun die from my stash and glued this piece on top.  I used fun foam to create some dimension on my foreground and adhered it on my card.

To finish the design, I stamped the sentiment and added the pink hearts.  I put glossy accents to the hearts to give it a little shine.  Here’s the card:

NNDPapaBear1

This card is really simple but I love how it turned out.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Peony Blooms

NNDReleaseIcon18May

It is the second day of the May reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   I hope you were able to check yesterday’s reveal.  You have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Peony Blooms stamp set and coordinating dies.   I absolutely LOVE this stamp set!

NNDMAY18PeonyBlooms

To start, I positioned the biggest peony die in the middle of my 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 piece of Bristol smooth white card stock.  I wanted to do a partial die-cutting on this card stock to make the flowers stand out.   To achieve this, I used my small cutting plate to partially die-cut the flowers.

I put the card stock onto my stamping tool and lined-up the stamp on top of the partially die-cut piece and stamped the image with memento tuxedo black ink.

IMG_8105

I cut the edges to create the border on the partially die-cut flowers using my paper trimmer.

IMG_8106

I used the Postage Die from the new Framework die set to create an embossed impression on my die-cut piece.  I also did the same technique with the patterned paper to make everything cohesive.  I colored the image with my Copic markers, and I also used my Prisma Color Pencils to add some highlights to the flowers.

I adhered the embossed patterned paper onto my card base.  I used foam adhesive to the foreground to create some dimension, and adhered it to the card.   To finish the design, I stamped the sentiment with my Versafine Onyx Black ink.  Here’s the card:

NNDPeony1

I absolutely LOVE how this card turned out!  Here’s a little close-up of the peonies:

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Blooming Botanicals and Framework Die Set

NNDReleaseIcon18May

I get super excited each month as we start our reveals of the new stamp set and dies by Newton’s Nook Designs. Thank you!]

For our first reveal day, the design team is showcasing the Blooming Botanicals stamp set and the Framework Die Set.   I know this sounds so redundant but you are going to love the new stamps and dies this month.  The new Framework die set is a must-have!  It is a combination of postage, scallop and stitched dies and you can use them in different projects.

NNDMAY18Framework+BloomingBotanicals

For my first card, I stamped the images onto Neenah solar white card stock with my Tim Holtz stamp platform and memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored the images in with my Copic markers.

I wanted to get an embossed impression on my foreground so I decided to use my Sizzix Premium Crease Pad and the scallop die from the Frames and Flags die set.  I ran it through my die-cutting machine.  I have really been loving the dry-embossed look lately so you will be seeing a lot of these on my projects this week.

IMG_8073

At first, I was also going to do a “ghost” sentiment on my card.  I die-cut the colored panel with a Hello die from my stash.

IMG_8074

As you can see from the above photo, it didn’t really stand out as much even with the added dimension using foam tape so I die-cut another piece of the script sentiment on black card stock.  I also heat-embossed the sentiment onto another piece of black card stock.  To finish my design, I added some morning dew crystal drops on the “hello” sentiment.

IMG_8075

Here’s my first card:

NNDBloomingBotanicals1

Here’s another look:

NNDBloomingBotanicals1B

For my second card, I wanted to color the flowers on dark card stock using my Prisma color pencils.  I stamped the image with my VersaMark ink on Dark gray card stock and heat-embossed it with my white embossing powder.  I used my colored pencils to color them in.

IMG_8076

I used the Postage die from the new Framework die set and ran it through my die-cutting machine with my Sizzix Premium Crease Pad to create the impression.  To finish the design, I die-cut another piece of black card stock with the ticket stub die, included in the Framework die set, and heat-embossed the sentiment.  Here’s the second card:

NNDBloomingBotanicalsGray1

Here’s another look:

NNDBloomingBotanicalsGray1A

I am not sure if I like the second card but I’ve always wanted to try coloring on dark card stock with my color pencils.  Even though I prefer my first card, I also like how this one turned out.

Would you like to win the “Blooming Botanicals” Stamp Set?  This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!
