Newton’s Nook & Xyron Inspiration Week Collaboration

NNDXYRON_2018

This week Newton’s Nook Designs and Xyron are partnering for a very awesome inspiration week!  Each day there is fresh inspiration using Newton’s Nook Designs products with Xyron adhesives on the NND blog and on the Xyron facebook page!

For my project today, I used the new Loveable Llama stamp set by NND, a Sizzix step-up die from my stash and my all-time favorite Xyron Mega Tape Runner.

I started out by die-cutting some white 110 lb. card stock using my Sizzix Basic Step-up dies.

IMG_8655

I stamped my Llamas from Loveable Llamas stamp set on some Neenah solar white card stock, using memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored them in with my Copic markers, and used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.

I used a patterned paper from my stash to die-cut the pieces to decorate my step-up card and adhered them with my Xyron Mega Tape Runner.  This is my favorite adhesive to use on my projects.

IMG_8656

I adhered all of the images on the card and finished the design by stamping the sentiment on a banner strip die, and added the yellow bow.  Here’s the card:

NNDLovableLlamasXyron3

I really love how cheerful this card turned out.  The cacti images from the stamp set went perfectly with the theme of this card.

Love You to the Moon & Back Scrapbook Layout

Hello my crafty friends!  I am super excited to share my project today.  Mother’s Day is fast-approaching and I wanted to create a scrapbook page layout, showcasing the Large Alpha dies, the “Love You to the Moon & Back” script sentiment dies by Kat Scrappiness, plus other supplies available at the shop.

I started by inking my 12 x 12  white card stock with my ink blending tool and my Worn Lipstick and Fossilized Amber distress oxides.    I spritzed my background with water and dabbed it with my paper towel.  I love the look of distress backgrounds especially on white card stock.

IMG_7253

I matted my mom’s photograph on Gina K Designs Black Card Stock.  I also stamped my flowers and leaves using the Lawn Fawn Fab Flowers 4 x 6 stamp set.  I die-cut my images using the Lawn Fawn Fab Flowers dies.

IMG_7254

Using the Large Alphabet Dies, I die-cut the letters M-O-M on Gina K Designs Black Card Stock.   I adhered the die-cut pieces onto my layout using my Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, lining it up with my T-square ruler to make sure that they are evenly spaced and perfectly aligned.

IMG_7255

I adhered my mom’s photograph onto my layout.  To finish my design, I added the rest of my embellishments.  Here is my layout:

KatScrapMomLayout

Here’s a little close-up!  Isn’t she beautiful?!  My mom is an amazing, strong, beautiful person, inside and out.  She has taught me how to become independent, and be able to do things that I couldn’t even believe it’s possible.  I am such a lucky person to have a mom like mine.  I love her to the moon and back!

Valentine’s Mailbox Treat Holder with Color Washed 12×12 Paper Pad by PHP

Maria Russell CircleAre you looking for some last-minute gift ideas for Valentine’s Day?  Look no further.  Here’s an easy and fun Valentine’s Mailbox Treat Holder idea!   You can find these mailboxes at a craft store, or go to your local Target at the Dollar spot section.  I have altered my mailbox, using the beautiful Color Washed 12 x 12 Paper Pad by Paper House Productions.  You guys are all going to love this paper pad.  The pad comes with a sticker sheet that contains alphabet stickers, and other ephemeras.

I love making 3D projects for Valentine’s Day, especially making treat holders for my family and friends.  Valentine’s Day is always a special day at my house.  When my kids were a lot younger, I would surprise them by decorating the table with hearts, candles, confetti, and flowers!  I would also leave the little treat bags on top of their plates so that before they eat breakfast and go to school, they already have their treats with them.  It made their day.  It doesn’t matter how big or small the presents were but they were always happy to get a few treats to celebrate the day.  We also made treats for their friends!

Here are the photos of my finished project:

I have a process video for you today to show you how I altered this inexpensive mailbox that I found from Target.  It is super fast and easy, and it doesn’t require decoupaging.  I hope you like it.  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Have a wonderful day!

London Calling Scrapbook Layout Destination Stickers with Paper House

Maria Russell CircleHello my crafty friends!  Maria here with you today and I am back to share with you a scrapbook layout, showcasing the Discover London 3-D Sticker Pack and the London Calling 12″ Double-sided Scrapbook paper.  I love that there are endless possibilities to mix and match the coordinating travel sets, especially the Destination Stickers.  I really love the 3d stickers!IMG_6677

I started out by printing my photos using my Canon Selphy photo printer.  I cut them to size for my layout.

I decided to use the London-Calling 12″ Double-sided scrapbook paper to match the Discover London 3D Sticker pack.  I cut a 6 x 12 black card stock to cover half of the scrapbook paper to have a plain base to showcase my photos and the sticker.

IMG_6678

I also used another black card stock to mat my Big Ben photograph and ground it a little so that it doesn’t look like it’s floating in the air.

IMG_6679

I used another red card stock to mat the photo of my daughter and I standing in Leicester  Square while it was snowing, and journaled a little of how the day was going, where we were, and the date.

IMG_6680

Here’s a close-up with the amazing Destination 3D sticker, and that England heart flag is super cute!

PHPLondon1

I thought it’s also appropriate to include the “Cheers” and the Red Tour Bus, also included in the Discover London 3D Sticker pack.

PHPLondon2

My daughter and I are huge fans of Sherlock Holmes so naturally, we had to see where he lived and thought that the Police Cap and the Red Telephone Booth would be perfect to showcase this spot.

PHPLondon3

I wish I can share more photos and use more stickers but I guess I will have to share it on another post.  We have definitely enjoyed touring London and this London-Calling 12″ Double-sided scrapbook paper with the Discover London 3D Sticker pack are the perfect combination to decorate my layout.

I hope you all enjoyed this project and found some inspiration.  Please don’t forget to visit www.paperhouseproductions.com to find the supplies that I used.  They are also listed and linked below to make it easier for you.  Don’t forget to use the coupon code “PH18MARIA” to get 15% off your order. Easy Thanksgiving Crafts with Xyron

I hope you are all having a great week so far.  All week long, the Xyron Design Team will be sharing easy Fall/Thanksgiving projects on the Xyron Facebook group.  For my projects today, I am making a bunch of treat bags to give to my guests for Thanksgiving.  I also made some place card holders and decorated a bunch of LED candles to decorate my table.

If you don’t have the supplies to create the treat bag, you can definitely buy some bags from the dollar store or craft stores, and decorate them with silk fall leaves or any other fall-themed embellishments, and fill them with surprise treats for your guests.

I started out by die-cutting some American Crafts card stock using my Mama Elephant Treat Bag die.  To decorate the bag, I die-cut the pumpkin with the Mama Elephant pumpkin add-on dies.  For my sentiment, I die-cut the “Thank You” script using my Kat Scrappiness Thank you script die.

XyronThanksgiving1

I assembled the bag using my Xyron Mega Runner.  I also used the mega runner to adhere the pumpkin.  To make things easier, I used my Xyron sticker maker to adhere the tiny pieces that goes with the pumpkin, as well as the Thank You Script sentiment.  I filled my bag with some treats.

Here’s the treat bag:

Since I have some leftover leaves that I die-cut from a previous project, I decided to make some place card holders, that will hold the utensils and a note pad for my guests to write what they are thankful for this year.  Here’s what it looks like:

I also decorated some LED candles to decorate my table, using my Xyron sticker maker and Mega Runner.

You Are Bee-youtiful and Kind

Hello my crafty peeps! It’s Maria here and I am back with you today to share this cheerful see-through card that I have made, showcasing the Bee Hive Card Honey Cuts, Honey Bee Hive Stencil and Mask, the Bee-You-Tiful sentiments with the Build-A-Bee stamp set and Build-A-Bee Honey Cuts.

I wanted to challenge myself and create a unique card.  I started out by stamping my images on Bristol smooth card stock with my memento tuxedo black ink and colored the images in with my Copic markers. I also added some glitter to the wings using my Spectrum Noir clear brush marker.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.

HBBeehive5

I die-cut a piece of acetate sheet using the Bee-Hive Card Honey cuts die as my card base. I also die-cut a piece of white card stock with a yellow patterned paper to use for the inside of my card.

HBBeehive6

I used the stencil to add some definition to my yellow patterned paper with the fossilized Amber distress oxide ink. I adhered the white card stock behind the acetate and adhered the patterned paper inside my see-through card base. I stamped the sentiment for my card, and adhered my little bees on the front panel to finish my design.

HBBeehive4

Wouldn’t this card make someone’s day?  Here’s what it looks like when the card is closed.

Here’s another look when the flap is open.  I inserted the battery-operated tea light.

XyronPaperhouse2

For my project today, I decided to create a beautiful Shadow Box to showcase the beautiful patterned paper and card stock/puffy stickers that I received from the Paper House. I recently went to Daiso and found this inexpensive shadow box and I thought it would be perfect to use for my project. I also wanted to show you guys that you don’t always have to use liquid glue or modpodge to adhere patterned paper to your 3D projects. The Xyron Creative Station Lite is the perfect machine because it applies edge-to-edge adhesive to your paper and you don’t need to wait for it to dry. You can create 3D projects in no time. Here are the products that I have used:

IMG_4898

I started out by painting my shadow box using craft paint and my foam brush. To cover the outside, I took my ruler and measured my shadow box (height, length and width) and cut the paper so I can cover the outside of the box. I used the patterned paper with pink elephants. I thought this paper pad is so beautiful! I used my Xyron Creative Station Lite and ran the papers through the machine to create stickers. I adhered the paper to the box.

This is what the outside of the box look like.  The beautiful patterned paper is adhered to the box perfectly!

IMG_4934

Using my ruler again, I measured the inside of the box (height, length and width) and cut my Neenah solar white card stock to fit inside the box. I wanted to create a hillside scene for my hot air balloon, elephant and giraffe. I used my Lawn Fawn pop-up hillside border dies and Grass border dies. I also die-cut the rest of the elements that I needed to create the scene, using different dies from my stash.

IMG_4914

Using my homemade cloud stencil and Broken China distress ink, I started sponging the color to my white card stock to create the look of the sky. I used my Xyron Creative Station Lite to adhere the card stock inside my shadow box.

IMG_4926

Using my Xyron mega-tape runner, I adhered my hillside pop-up border inside the box to create the hills for my scene, as well as the sun and tress. I used the cute stickers from the pack that I received from the Paper House (baby elephant, giraffe, hot air balloon, flowers, onesie, rattle, etc.) to finish my design.

Here’s a close-up photo of my shadow box:

Here’s another look, with the box open:

And another close-up photo below!  You can also add some battery-operated twinkle lights to make this shadow box more dramatic, or a battery-operated tea light.  This will be perfect to give as a gift:
