Newton’s Nook Designs January Release Day 1 – Woodland Duo

nnd_releasejan17

Hello stampers and crafters.  I’m super excited to share this blog post as today is release day (Day 1) at Newton’s Nook Designs.  I have created a Valentine’s Day card, showcasing the new Woodland Duos stamp set. This stamp set coordinates with the previously released, Darling Hearts Die set. You will absolutely love the images on this stamp set!

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock with my memento tuxedo black ink. I colored the images using my Copic markers, and die-cut my stamped images with its coordinating dies.   I wanted to do some inlaid technique to show off the beautiful images in one card without the bulk.

For my card below, I decided to use the foxes and the raccoons, with one of the small hearts included in the set. (I have made another card with the Owl images, which I will later share on a different post with a process video.)

I finished off the design by using three different patterned papers, and added the tiny red bow. What do you guys think? I hope you like it as much as I do. This stamp set will be available for purchase on January 20 at 8:00 a.m. CST.

Once Upon A Fairy Tale Brentwood and Operation Snowball Brentwood

This is my second blog post for today and I apologize for that. It just so happens that today, we are launching two new beautiful stamp sets by www.jessicalynnoriginal.com, called “Operation Snowball Brentwood” and “Once Upon a Fairy Tale Brentwood”. These two new stamp sets are probably my favorite drawings by Jessica, thus far. I have created two samples for each stamp set.

Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows ~ Fall Cards

Hello stampers and crafters! I’m back today to share with you two fall cards that I have designed, showcasing Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows, KatScrappiness Double-Stitched Circle Frames Dies and other products available at the shop.

The winter sparrows stamp set is actually meant for Christmas or Winter-themed cards but if you have been following me for awhile, you know that I like to stretch my stamps and use them for different seasons.

I am going to keep this blog post short because I am sharing a process video on how I made the cards. Which one is your favorite?

The supplies I have used will be listed and linked below. Have an amazing day!

MFT Stamps – Beast Friends

Even though I’m not ready for Christmas yet, I can’t help but get excited about playing with this new stamp set by MFT Stamps called Beast Friends. These Yeti images are so adorable!

I shared a YouTube video on how I created the first card if you’d like to check it out.

The second project is just an addition since I’ve already colored a few of those adorable Yetis. I wanted to create a cute Christmas tag. What do you think? Are you “Yeti” for Christmas?

Live the Life You Dream About-JessicaLynn Original Stamps

We are finally launching this amazing stamp set at www.jessicalynnoriginal.com called “Live The Life You Dream About ~ Spirit Animal”. This is a little bit of a change from Jessica’s artwork in the past, but I am so in-love with this set!

I love the dream catcher image on this set. My daughter and I love dream catchers and I have them all over my house. I even have them in my car (no joke!).   The sentiments that Jess included in this stamp set are all so inspirational.

For the vellum card, I first stamped the image using Versamark ink and heat-embossed it with my white embossing powder. Once it dried and cool to the touch, I turned the vellum upside down and colored the image from the back with my Copic markers. I used R83 and R85 for the dream catcher. Once I was happy with the colors, I proceeded to die-cut my card base and the decorative scallop trims using a light tan card stock. I wanted my dream catcher to be the focus of the card. I die-cut the “Believe” script sentiment using Neenah solar white card stock, and adhered it on the front of my card.  I finished the design by adding a pink vellum bow, and pearls to the dream catcher.

For the second card, I wanted the focus of the card to be all about my spirit animal. I have always believed that my spirit animal is an Owl. What better way to showcase the stamp set and Jessica’s digital stamp of Brentwood Owl by combining them both! I altered the stamp a little bit so I can adhere it to Brentwood. I wanted my card scene to look like an enchanted forest so I used my Birch Tree Window Die from Simon Says Stamp. I think using the glittered paper behind it made it more magical!

Down Under ~ Australia Zoo Stamp Launch

Today we are going to go “down under” to explore the beauty of Australia, through JessicaLynnOriginal’s new stamp set called Down Under-Australia Zoo. The images on this set are just beautiful!  If I were not swamped with design team projects and an upcoming travel in a few days, I would have made more samples for you. However, I was able to make three:

This Koala Bear is just adorable!

I love the sentiment that I used for the card below and paired it with a Brentwood digital stamp and my favorite Magnolia Doohickey Die called “Lovely Umbrella”.

The last card below is my favorite.  I am currently addicted to layering white on white card stock.  It is very clean and simple.  I also added some vellum leaves and sparkling clear sequins to finish off the design.  What do you all think?
