Halloween Cards & Frankie Treat Box

I am back today to share with you some Halloween projects that I made using a bunch of dies and card-making supplies from KatScrappiness.Com.

October has always been my favorite time of the year to start my crafting for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. With the days getting shorter, I want to keep myself busy and create hand-made projects to give as gifts.

The first vellum LED tea light card with the skeleton was actually made a few days ago, as I wanted to display it on top of my mantle with the rest of my Halloween D.I.Y.’s.

The second card is my favorite. When I first saw this Cheery Lynn Designs Witch’s skirt die at KatScrappiness, I immediately thought of this design for a card. I thought it is pretty hilarious!

For the sake of time, I am going to keep this blog post short and show you the process video for the Witch’s Skirt/Cauldron Card and the cute Frankie Pillow Treat Box.

I hope you like the projects. Have an amazing day!

Live the Life You Dream About-JessicaLynn Original Stamps

We are finally launching this amazing stamp set at www.jessicalynnoriginal.com called “Live The Life You Dream About ~ Spirit Animal”. This is a little bit of a change from Jessica’s artwork in the past, but I am so in-love with this set!

I love the dream catcher image on this set. My daughter and I love dream catchers and I have them all over my house. I even have them in my car (no joke!).   The sentiments that Jess included in this stamp set are all so inspirational.

For the vellum card, I first stamped the image using Versamark ink and heat-embossed it with my white embossing powder. Once it dried and cool to the touch, I turned the vellum upside down and colored the image from the back with my Copic markers. I used R83 and R85 for the dream catcher. Once I was happy with the colors, I proceeded to die-cut my card base and the decorative scallop trims using a light tan card stock. I wanted my dream catcher to be the focus of the card. I die-cut the “Believe” script sentiment using Neenah solar white card stock, and adhered it on the front of my card.  I finished the design by adding a pink vellum bow, and pearls to the dream catcher.

For the second card, I wanted the focus of the card to be all about my spirit animal. I have always believed that my spirit animal is an Owl. What better way to showcase the stamp set and Jessica’s digital stamp of Brentwood Owl by combining them both! I altered the stamp a little bit so I can adhere it to Brentwood. I wanted my card scene to look like an enchanted forest so I used my Birch Tree Window Die from Simon Says Stamp. I think using the glittered paper behind it made it more magical!

The first one is a fun Halloween card showcasing the KatScrappiness Stitched Rectangle Stacks and Lawn Fawn’s So Stinkin’ Cute Stamp Set.  I also used the Gina Marie Designs Background Tree.   For the witch’s broom, I used an older Lawn Fawn stamp called ” Critters in Costume”. The background paper is by Doodlebug.

The Thanksgiving card below showcases the amazing embossed mini-rope stackable dies by KatScrappiness.  Kat’s dies are very inexpensive and they’re all made here in the USA.  I also used Lawn Fawn’s Cutie Pie stamp set and die with an older LF set called Snow Day.

Fall Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop

I am super excited to join the Fall Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop. I love this community and I can’t wait to see everyone’s creations.  Thank you, Amy Tsuruta and the rest of the amazing team at Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog. You guys rock!

For my card today, I used the digital stamp by http://www.jessicalynnoriginal.com.  This digital stamp is free for download during this Hop.  Isn’t Brentwood adorable?! I didn’t want to create a card with the traditional fall colors, which is why I tried the color combination on the card below.

If you are wondering where to get the amazing sequins that I used for my card, I got them from http://www.katscrappiness.com/?aff=21   Kat has over 200+ (unique) sequins and confetti mixes for every occasion.  MY favorites are the Halloween, Fall and Christmas mixes!

I am off to Dubai tomorrow for some much-needed R&R.   I hope you all have an amazing weekend!  Happy fall everyone!

MFT Stamps ~ Grateful For You

I am back today to share with you a card that I made as my third and final entry for the MFT Stamps 2016 Card Design Superstar.   It has been a wonderful, scary and intimidating experience thus far. As I write this blog post, there are almost 400 entries! Scary, huh?
Today’s card is a simple thank you card for my best friend, who lives in Washington, D.C. I am a little sad that we are not going to be able to spend Thanksgiving together again this year. I made this card to let her know that she means so much to me, and I am grateful to have her in my life!

Grateful For You – Card Design by Maria Russell

I started out by stamping the images on Neenah solar white card stock using MFT stamps Black Licorice hybrid ink. I used Copic markers to color the images. Since I didn’t have the coordinating dies, I had to fuzzy cut all of the images using my precision scissors.

For my card scene, I had to think outside the box again to create a larger window for my critters so I decided to use the gift box cover up die. I think it turned out perfectly.

For the awning, I used the new Stitched Scallop Basic Edges. I love these dies so much it cuts like butter!

Here is the complete list of the supplies I’ve used for the card. They are all from MFT Stamps.

Happy Hedgehogs

Harvest Buddies

Grateful For You stamp set and coordinating die-namics

Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edges

Die-namics Gift Box Cover Up

Sweet Celebration 6×6 Paper Pad (from the birthday card kit)

To finish off the card, I used my black gel pen to give the eyes more dimension, my white gel pen to highlight the cheeks and the leaves, and also used glossy accents on the acorns.

Wish me luck and thank you for stopping by!
