It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year with LDRS Creative

Is anyone else excited for Christmas? I can’t wait to be honest! My husband and I are finally able to book a flight to go home for the holidays and I am counting the days! I can’t wait to see my kids and our home! I am also excited to get a fresh tree and decorate it with my kids and that is my inspiration for today’s card.

This slimline card is so easy to make and believe it or not, I only used one 6×6 patterned paper using the City Sidewalks Paper Pack to fill in the background. Do you want to know how? I started by using the second largest die from the Slim Line Corner Scallop die set and positioned this at the bottom left side of the paper. I ran it through my die-cutting machine to get the first piece. I did the same step but positioned the die at the top right hand corner of the paper to get the next piece.

Next, I used the two biggest die from the Slim Line Corner Scallop die set to die-cut the frame and the inside piece. I adhered the two pieces of patterned paper that I die-cut previously, making sure that the bricks lined-up perfectly to get a cohesive look.

The images from the City Sidewalks, Country Corner Accessories and City Streets stamp sets were stamped with Raven Hybrid ink on some Neenah solar white card stock. I colored the images in with my alcohol markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies.

Now that I have all of the pieces together, I am ready to assemble my card. First, I foam-mounted the black frame that was die-cut earlier using the Slim Line Corner Scallop die set on a slimline card base. I adhered the background that I previously fused together on the center of the card with liquid glue. Next, I added foam adhesive to my focal image (the car) and adhered this piece on the card, making sure that I positioned this to cover the fused background. I also foam-mounted the mailbox for added dimension and adhered the Light Post, Letter to Santa, and the Wreath with liquid glue to adorn the scene.

I stamped the sentiments from the Christmas Wishes stamp set on some black card stock using the LDRS Watermark Ink. I sprinkled some White Embossing Powder on the sentiments and heat-set them with my heating tool. I used the Wave Ribbon Stack coordinating dies to die-cut all the sentiments at once. I really love this stamp and die combo! You only stamp it once but you a get a lot of sentiment strips that you can use for your projects later. I foam-mounted the sentiment on the card for added dimension.

I finished my design by adding some Stickles to the snow and used my white gel pen to add some dots to the car for more texture. Here’s another look:

Don’t you just LOVE the new release by LDRS Creative? To be honest, I really can’t pick a favorite! I love them all! This scene from the City Sidewalks 6×6 paper pack was so easy to put together and you definitely need to check them all out! It’s a must-have for sure!

NND November Release Day 4 – Newton’s Snowman & Happy New Year

For Day 4, we are showcasing with the Newton’s Snowman stamp set and coordinating dies with the (mini) Happy New Year Stamp Set.

To make my first card, I started by inking up this panel with some Evergreen Bough distress oxide ink.I used the Petite Snow stencil to add texture to the background.

I stamped the image with some Rich Cocoa Memento ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating die to die-cut the image. I also stamped the trees from the Festive Forest stamp set and used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

I die-cut the mountains and snow using a die set from my collection and some Neenah Desert Storm and White glitter card stock. I adhered this onto my colored background with my ATG gun.

The snowbanks were die-cut using the Sky Border and Land Border dies. I used my BG Copic markers to add a little bit of color and adhered them onto the card panel with my ATG gun and foam adhesive.

Next, I adhered the trees and my focal image with some liquid glue.

I finished my card design by using my white gel pen and draw some lines and dots to the Snowman’s scarf and also used some Stardust Stickles for added texture. Here’s another look:

My next card is very simple. I used the circle die from the Circle Frames die set to die-cut some masking paper. I adhered this onto my A2-size card panel and started stamping the champagne glasses and other images from the Newton’s New Year stamp set. I used some alcohol markers to color the images in.

I gently removed the mask and stamped the Happy New Year sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, and used the same alcohol markers to color them in.

I finished my design by adhering this colored panel to an A2 size note card and added some Stardust Stickles to the bubbles for more texture. Here’s another look:

For Day 3, we are showcasing with the Snowman Roundabout stamp set that also coordinates with the previously released Circle Frames die set and Banner Trio dies.

I decided to make a Christmas tag today. To begin, I used the scallop from the Circle Frames die set and die-cut with some Neenah solar white 110 lb. card stock. I positioned this panel inside my Misti and stamped the image using the stamp set.

I used my alcohol markers to color the images in. Lately, I have been using a lot of traditional Christmas colors on my cards so I decided to change my theme this month and use pastel colors.

The sentiment strip was die-cut using the Banner Trio Frame and embossed with some embossing powder. I foam-mounted this onto the panel for added dimension.

To finish my tag, I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole and inserted some silk ribbon. I also used the black & white twine with some gold jingle bell for some contrast and added some Startdust Stickles to finishthe tag. Here’s another look:

For Day 2, we are showcasing the Snowfall Roundabout stamp set that coordinates with the the previously released dies called Circle Frames Die Set and Banner Trio Dies.

To make my circular card, I started by die-cutting the circle scallop on some Centura Pearl 110 lb. card stock. I positioned this in my Misti and used my powder tool to prep the background. I stamped the Snowfall Roundabout with some Versamark ink.

Next, I sprinkled some gold embossing powder on the stamped image and used my heating tool to heat-set the image.

Next, I die-cut a pink circle frame to ground the image and adhered this onto the panel with some glue. I die-cut some pink card stock using one of the dies from the Banner Trio die set. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink and sprinkled the same gold embossing powder then heat-set with my heating tool. I foam-mounted this piece onto the card for added dimension.

I finished my design by adhering the gold bow that I die-cut using the die from the Bitty Bibs die set. Here’s another look:

NND November Release Day 1 – Snowman Greetings

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and/or stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs. For the first day of the reveals we are starting with the Snowman Greetings stamp setand coordinating dies.

To make my card, I started by inking up some Bristol smooth white card stock with Distress Oxide inks in Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass. Once the colors were well-blended, I smooshed some Aged Mahogany on an acrylic block and added water to it. I used my watercolor brush to add some speckles of color to my panel for added texture.

I stamped my image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the image.

Next, I die-cut the trees and the snow using the Forest Builder die set and Sky Borders die. I adhered the trees onto the panel with liquid glue. The snow banks were adhered with either liquid glue or foam adhesive. I added the focal image with liquid glue.

To finish my design, I stamped some snowflakes with a light blue quick dry dye ink and adhered some Snowflake sprinkles to adorn the card. I also used my BG Copic markers to add more color to the snow banks. Here’s another look:

25 Days of Christmas Tags

Hello my crafty peeps! Today, the Newton’s Nook Design Team is joining Tracey McNeely of www.inmycreativeopinion.blogspot.ca for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. You will find lots of inspiration from the team and there is also a GIVEAWAY! Please go to Tracy’s blog post for all the details about the prizes and the giveaway!

For my tags below, I am showcasing the Winter Birds stamp set and coordinating dies along with the Holiday Greetings Die set and Pines & Holly die set.

To make the tags, I started by stamping my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.

Next, I die-cut the wood slices and the tags using some dies from my collection and the pine boughs using the Pines & Holly die set. I adhered the wood slices, berries and the pine boughs for added texture and interest. The birds were foam-mounted on the tags for added dimension.

I finished my design by adding the silk ribbon, twine and jingle bells then adhered the “be merry” die-cut sentiment using the Holiday Greetings die set. Here’s another look:

Grateful to Count You Among My Blessings

Hello Cas-ual Fridays fans! I’m back today to share a super simple card that you can easily mass-produce, showcasing the Wheat Wreath stamp set. If you didn’t know, this stamp set is currently on clearance so grab it while you can before it sells out!

I started by inking up my background using a circle stencil from my collection with some quick dry dye inks (bubblegum, butter and peach fuzz) using my blending brushes.

I stamped the wheat wreath and the sentiment with some Versamark ink and sprinkled some Wow! gold embossing powder. I heat-set this with my heating tool.

I finished my design by adding the gold bow, from the Pear Tree Dies (that is also on the clearance section). I adhered this on an A2-size card base. Here’s another look:

This card is really simple but I love how it turned out. This card can be easily mass-produce to give out to family and friends during Thanksgiving!

There’s Snow One Like You

Hello LDRS fans! Maria Russell here with you today sharing this cute winter-themed card, showcasing the Snowball Fight stamp set and coordinating dies, along with the Mackenzie 6×6 Paper Pad, Slimline Corner Scallop die set, Over The Hills die and the Up A Tree die set.

To begin, I stamped my images with Raven Hybrid ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to die-cut them out.

Next, I created the background by die-cutting some Bristol smooth white card stock using the biggest die from the Slimline Corner Scallop die set. I die cut two pieces to create my layers. I used the Over the hills die and die-cut my panel a few times to create the snowbanks. I used the Swimming Hole Hybrid ink with some blender brush to add some color to the snow for added texture. I adhered the snowbanks on the Bristol panel with my tape runner and foam adhesive to create dimension.

I played with my layout a little bit until I got the perfect spot for my critters, and adhered them onto the card with liquid glue.

I finished my design by adding the cute little trees that were die-cut using the Mackenzie Christmas Paper pad, gray card stock and Over the Hills die. Here’s another look:

For Day 4, we are showcasing with the Holiday Post stamp set and coordinating dies with the Christmas Roundabout stamp set that coordinates with the Circle Frames die set and the Banner Trio die set.

To make my first project, I started by stamping the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating dies to die-cut them out.

The background was ink-blended with Faded Jeans, Black Soot, Seedless Preserves, Victorian Velvet, Antique Linen. For added texture, I sprayed it with some water and picked up the excess with my paper towel.

I die-cut the trees from the Forest Scene Builder die set, the snowbanks with the Land Border and Sky Borders die set and adhered onto the colored panel.

My adhered the focal image onto the card and finished my design by adding the sentiment, die-cut using the Holiday Greetings die set on some glittered card stock. I finished my design by adding the snow using my white Posca paint pen.

For my next project, I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white and colored them in with alcohol markers. I used the Circle Frames die to die-cut the image.

To ground the focal image, I added some red circle frame with some liquid glue. Next step was to create the shaker well, that I die-cut using a die from my collection. I used some snowflake sprinkles as my shaker element.

I finished my design by adding the sentiment, die-cut using the Banner Trio die set.
