This is limited-edition and is only available for purchase at Simon Says Stamp.   Here’s what the set looks like:

NND STAMPtember set

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah Solar White card stock with my memento tuxedo black ink and colored my images in with Copic markers.  I also used my Sakura white and black glazed pens to add more details to the images.  I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.

I die-cut my Strathmore Watercolor paper using my rectangle dies and created a sunset sky using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  I wanted to create a cute hillside scene for my little doxies so I decided to use my portrait stitched hillside and landscape stitched hillside backdrop dies.  Here’s my card:

For my second card, I stamped and die-cut the small leaves and little acorns to create a wreath for my card. I also used the falling leaves stencil to add some color and finished the design by adding a small bow on the wreath, using the Pines and Holly die set. Here’s the card:

Newton’s Nook Designs & Chibitronics Inspiration Week + GIVEAWAY!

NND_Chibicollab

This week Newton’s Nook Designs and Chibitronics are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long, both design teams will be sharing ways to light up your cards using Chibi lights with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps! There is also a GIVEAWAY so please make sure to read up ‘til the end of this post to find out how you can WIN.

I am showcasing NND’s Cosmic Newton and Cultivated Cacti stamp set and dies, with the land border dies. I also would like to take this opportunity to thank Chibitronics for sending us this starter pack (this is a must-have, especially for the holidays).

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored my images in with Copic markers. I also cut a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ to stamp my stars and draw the dots with my versamark ink and versamark pen. I covered them with my white embossing powder and heat-set it. I then used my distress oxide inks to color my background to create a night-sky.

I marked the position of where the battery was going to go on my card base, and also marked the “+” and “-“ placement of the circuit lines. Before I finalized the design and adhered my card front, I wanted to make sure that the lights worked first:

Here’s my card:

NNDCHIBI1

Here’s when I pushed the cactus to show the lights on the moon!  Doesn’t it look so spectacular? I had so much fun creating this card.

NNDCHIBI2

Back to School with Xyron – Reusable (Laminated) Lunch Box Notes

Good morning my crafty peeps!  I am back today to share a (very easy) Back-To-School project, using my all-time favorite Mega Tape Adhesive Tape Runner and my Creative Station Lite with a Double-Side Laminate by Xyron.

When my kids were younger, I used to include lunch box “love notes” in my children’s lunch boxes, with some treats. I wanted them to feel that they are loved and special.  They also told me that it always cheered them up when they were having a bad day at school and they always look forward to opening their lunch boxes.  Just a warning though, this made some other kids in their class super jealous and started asking their mommies why they didn’t have cute notes and special treats in their lunch boxes! Haha! Needless to say, I was requested by the “non-crafty” mommies to make some lunchbox notes for their child!

I started out by stamping my images using my new favorite stamping platform by Tim Holtz. Since these images will go in lunch boxes, there is no need to take so much time with shading and such to color them in. I die-cut my images with the coordinating dies.

XyronLunchbox1

I already have some business-card size card stock in my stash so all I had to do was adhere my images to the card stock using my Xyron Mega Adhesive Tape Runner.

XyronBacktoSchool4

I stamped my sentiments with some stamps that I already have from my stash. You don’t have to use stamps for your sentiments. You can also write your own messages. I think it will actually be more special if you did!   I used my Creative Station Lite with the Double-sided Laminate to laminate my notes. This will protect your lunch box notes from the moisture inside the lunch box; plus you can totally reuse them over and over again!

XyronBacktoSchool2

XyronBacktoSchool3

Here’s what they all look like when laminated:

XyronLunchBox

This project will also be perfect for your little kids if they want to make their own notes to give to their classmates.   Aren’t they adorable?  I hope you like my back-to-school project today. Have an amazing day!

For today’s cards, I am showcasing the Autumn Newton stamp set and its coordinating dies.

The first card is really simple. I didn’t use traditional fall colors on my background for this card but I love how it turned out:

NNDFallCat1

For my second card, I wanted to create a fall shaker card and I used the leaves as my shaker element. I started out by using my distress oxide inks – worn lipstick and fossilized amber to distress my card stock. Here’s what it looks like:

NNDFallCat2

Newton’s Nook and Xyron Inspiration Week Collaboration

Welcome to the Fun Collaboration Blog hop with Newton’s Nook Designs and Xyron! I am extremely excited to share this blog post because I belong to both design teams. There are prizes too!  Newton’s Nook is giving away a $25 gift certificate to the shop and Xyron is giving away a Mega Tape runner.  Please read all the way to the bottom to find out how you can win the prizes!

I am sure most of you know that I am still away from home taking care of my very sick father-in-law and I currently have very-limited crafting supplies with me.  This is why my card is going to be very simple.

For our collaboration, I am showcasing the Newton’s Perfect Pumpkin stamp set and my Xyron Mega-Tape Runner.  I know it is a little too early for Halloween but I wanted to create something fun for you and give you an idea of what’s to come from NND’s fall stamp release.  Stay tuned for next month’s release because you will absolutely love all of them!

I started out by stamping the images on Neenah solar white card stock using my new (favorite) Tim Holtz Stamping platform and color the images in with my alcohol markers.  I purchased these alcohol markers from Amazon and they are comparable to Copic markers (but a lot cheaper).  To be honest though, I still prefer my Copics but these markers are good enough when I am crafting from my home away from home.  I fuzzy-cut the images using my precision scissors.  I also stamped the spider web, bats, spider and sentiment on my card front.

To finish my design, I die-cut the clouds with my clouds border dies on black card stock.  To give the clouds a little dimension, I used my black fun foam and adhered them with my Xyron Mega Tape Runner (also my favorite).

Here’s the final card – simple and fun:

{Would you like to win a Prize pack including a Mega Runner from Xyron and a $25 store credit to Newton’s Nook Designs?}

Here’s how to win: Leave a comment on the NND & Design Team blog posts using Xyron products all week (July 31 – Aug 4) to enter. One winner will be randomly chosen from blog posts throughout the week so the more posts you leave comments on the better your chances are of winning! You have until Friday August 4th at midnight CST to comment. The winner will be announced on the NND blog post on Monday, August 7th.

Xyron will also be giving away a prize pack! Make sure to visit their facebook page each day this week for inspiration and leave comments there for another chance to win!  Have a great week!
