Wine Cards with the September Release by Kat Scrappiness

Hello Kat Scrappiness fans! Back today with some simple cards featuring the new Peacock Backdrop die, the Wine Not stamp set and the Wine Not Custom craft dies.

For my first card, I started out by die-cutting the Peacock Backdrop diesome Bristol smooth white card stock.  I inked up this piece with some squeezed lemonade, spiced marmalade and picked raspberry distress oxide inks with my mini ink blending tool.  I set this piece aside to dry while I worked on die-cutting the Wine Not Custom craft dies.  I used Neenah smooth white card stock to color the bottle with my Copic markers and used a silver card stock for the wine glass.  I added glossy accents to make it look more realistic.   I also die-cut a frame by using the double stitched rectangle die and the stitched rectangle die.  Here’s the first card:

I adorned my card with some images from a stamp set by Newton’s Nook and also added the beautiful Champagne jewels.  I love the new jewels collection from the shop.  They are available in a variety of colors.  Here’s another look:

For my second card, I die-cut the pieces again with some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the die-cut pieces with my Copic markers.  I inked up an A2 size piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock with a stencil from my stash.   I stamped the sentiment from the Wine Not stamp set.  Here’s my second card:

To finish the design, I also added the cheers sentiment from my stash and the tiny bow is from a die-set by Lawn Fawn.  Here’s another look:

For my third card, I wanted to create something simple just using the Wine Not stamp set.  I die-cut a piece of some Neenah solar white card stock with the Stitched Fancy Scalloped rectangle die.  I colored the images in with my Copic markers.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Vintage Sepia ink.

I hope you like my cards today.  Which one is your favorite?  The supplies I used are listed and linked below.  Don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order at the shop.  Have a nice day!

I’ll Always Be Your Angel with Kindred Stamps

Hello Kindred fans!  Are you still swooning over the August stamp release or just in-love with everything that Kindred stamps has to offer?  To be honest, the stamp set that I used for this card is probably one of my top five favorites by Kindred.

For today’s project, I am showcasing the Slay stamp set.  I can’t even begin to express how much I LOVE this set.  When this stamp set was released in July, I was a bit bummed that it wasn’t assigned to me but of course there’s no stopping me from ordering this set.  I sent a couple of messages to Audra to reserve this stamp for me because I just NEED this in my life, haha!

I started out by stamping my images on some Copic friendly paper and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I had to color my Vampire with different gray inks to give him dimension because I knew that I was going to create a night scene and the background will mostly be black.   I fuzzy-cut my images using my precision cut scissors.

I cut an A2 size piece of some Bristol smooth white card stock, and inked it up with my Distress Oxide inks –> Black Soot, Seedless Preserves and Faded Jeans.  To add the stars in the sky, I used my Copic white paint and added some water, then used my watercolor brush to splatter it onto my colored background.  I also die-cut the other elements I needed to create my scene.

I adhered the die-cuts onto my colored background and added the big hill, then adhered this piece on my card base.  I used my powder tool to get rid of some static and stamped my sentiment onto the card with some white embossing powder and heat-set it with my heating tool.  I adhered my stamped images onto the card.  To finish the design, I used my black glazed pen to give the eye a little more dimension.

I really love that even though the background is quite busy, the images just managed to stand out!  Here’s a little close-up:

I just simply adore the stamp set.  It is definitely in my top five favorites by Kindred stamps.

What do you think?  I hope you like my card today and got inspired.  Please visit Kindred Stamps to purchase this stamp set.  I hope you have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

Happy Meow-oween & Pawsome Birthday

Hello Newton’s Nook fans!  Are you ready for more inspiration from last week’s August release?  For today’s projects, I am showcasing a LOT of Newton’s Nook products.   I’m featuring the Halloween Trio stamp set and coordinating dies, Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and coordinating dies, with an older stamp set Newton’s Perfect Pumpkin. I also used the Land Border Dies, Sky Border dies with the Framework die set.

For my first card, I inked up my background with distress oxide inks —> Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Fossilized Amber to create my night sky.  I sprayed it with water using my distress sprayer and dabbed it with my paper towel.

I stamped my image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the image with the coordinating die.  I die-cut the grass with the land borders die on some black card stock, as well as the picket fence and the clouds, using the Sky Border dies.  I adhered the die-cuts and the images on my colored background.

To finish my design I added the pumpkins, spider web and the spider with the black bats using the Newton’s Perfect Pumpkin stamp set.  I also stamped the sentiment with versa mark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

NNDHappyMeow-oween1C

For my second card, I stamped my images on some white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.

IMG_9259

I die-cut an A2 size smooth white card stock and dry-embossed it with the biggest die using the Framework die set.  I cut the window using the smallest die of the same set.  I covered the window with acetate and also added my foam adhesive to create the well for my shaker card.  I used some white and purple star confetti as my shaker element and adhered this piece on my card base.

IMG_9258

I inked up the bottom of my card front with some Antique Linen distress oxide ink and adhered my little Frenchies on my card.  I also adhered the balloon and stamped my sentiment onto the card.

NNDFabulousFrenchies2A

To finish my design I added glossy accents to the balloon and the little Frenchies to make their noses pop.

For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Hoppy Halloween stamp set and coordinating dies.  This is such an adorable stamp set.

NNDAug18_HoppyHalloween

I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my alcohol markers.  I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.  I also die-cut the sentiment with a small die that is going to be showcased tomorrow (you got an early sneak peek, haha!).

On an A2 piece of Bristol Smooth white card stock,  I used my scalloped circle frames die to die-cut my little windows.  I inked up the negative space with my distress oxide inks.  I adhered the frame and the colored background onto my card base.  Here’s the card:

NNDHoppyHalloween1A

These bunnies are so adorable and I wanted to create a non-traditional Halloween card.

NNDHoppyHalloween1B

Don’t you just love those adorable bunnies?  Here’s another look:

NND August Reveals – Day 2 – Fabulous Frenchies

NNDReleaseIcon_Aug18

It is the second day of the August reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.   I hope you were able to check out yesterday’s reveal.  You have a chance to win each stamp set during release week so check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For our projects today, the design team is showcasing the Fabulous Frenchies stamp set and coordinating dies.

NNDAug18_FabulousFrenchies

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images with the coordinating dies.  I always color more than one image so that when I need to use it for my project, I already have it colored and die-cut and all I have to do is think of a card design.

I inked up my background using my handmade stencil with Spun Sugar distress oxide ink.  I wanted to create a different background for my card other than a blue sky.  I also inked up the hill with Mowed Lawn distress oxide ink.  I die-cut a scalloped border and adhered it on my card.  I also adhered my cute little Frenchie.  Here’s my card:

NNDAdorableFrenchie1A

I used black and white wash tape to decorate both sides of my card.  I love the simplicity of this card.  I’m not sure why the shirt looks blue on the photo but it is actually dark gray.   It’s been raining so much in Florida and I haven’t had much luck taking bright photos lately and I apologize for that.

NNDAdorableFrenchies1B

This stamp set is a must-have!  I can’t wait to show you my other card using this stamp set next week.

NND August Reveals – Day 1 – Classy Teachers

NNDReleaseIcon_Aug18

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs.   You also have a chance to win a a stamp set for each reveal day so please read through til the end to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For our first day of August reveals, we are showcasing the Classy Teachers stamp set and coordinating dies.   This stamp set is super special for me because my daughter is a teacher.  Thank you so much Jen for creating this stamp set.   Teachers work so hard and are often unappreciated.  I think being a teacher is a noble career and words cannot express how proud I am of my daughter for being one.

NNDAug18_ClassyTeachers

To start, I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white card stock with my memento tuxedo black ink and colored them in with my alcohol markers (not Copics).  Yes, I am currently working on a mobile design studio because I’m in the process of moving my entire overseas studio back home to FL (container is currently in Singapore, en-route to FL).   I never realized how hard it was going to be not having my regular supplies.  Even taking my project photos was a huge challenge.  It was raining so hard for the last two weeks and it’s been gloomy.  Anyways, I wouldn’t bore you with all of my crafting dilemma.  Here is the first card:

NNDClassyTeachers1A

Let me just say that the sentiment on this card is my favorite!  Here’s another look:

NNDClassyTeachers1B

For my second card, I wanted to create a cheerful card.  My daughter is my ray of sunshine.  She works so hard at school but still manages to call me after work to update me about her day and how her “kids” made her laugh or cry, etc.!  She is AMAZING!  Here is my second card:

NNDClassyTeachers3A

I used the same sentiment on the second card because I think it is so true!  Here’s another look:

I hope you like my cards today and got inspired.  Would you like to win the “Classy Teachers” Stamp Set?  This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

I Craft Therefore I Hoard

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are all having a great week so far. Maria here with you today and I am back to share with you two card samples showcasing the new Crafter’s Gonna Craft stamp set, with the new Stitched Scalloped Collage Frame Die.

I have been super busy traveling for the last few weeks that I don’t have a step-by-step instruction for you.  I guess if you are a card maker or a scrapbooker, you would have figured out how I made the cards already but I apologize if you are a beginner.  Please know that once I am back on a regular schedule, I will have a step-by-step tutorial or even a YouTube video. I promise!  Here’s my first simple, one-layer card:

This new stamp set is a must-have for any paper crafter!  Here’s another look:

My second card just cracks me up!  If you are a crafter, I am sure you can relate with the sentiment.

Isn’t it true though?  I am such a hoarder.  I collect anything and everything that I can use for a future project, it drives my husband nuts!  I didn’t realize how much hoarding I’ve been doing until it was time to pack up most of my craft supplies to move it all back to my home in Florida.

I also LOVE the new sparkling jewels at the shop.  They come in different colors but my favorite is the clear, sparkling one that I used on my project.  I prefer adhering it flat-side up and I think it gives more shine.

I hope you like my projects today.  Please don’t forget to check out the August release by Kat Scrappiness.  The new dies are must-haves for sure!  Don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order.  Also, don’t forget to check out the Lawn Fawn items that are currently on sale at the shop for 20% off by using code “LAWNFAWN”.  It is only valid until August 12th.  Have an amazing day and happy crafting!
