Toil and Troubled by Kat Scrappiness

Hello my crafty peeps!  I hope you are having a great day so far!  I am back today for Kat Scrappiness, showcasing the new Halloween Stamp Set called Toil and Troubled Layer stamp set, Cross-stitched Rectangle Dies, Spooky Sparkles Sequin Mix and the Waves Border Dies. Just a little heads up, I will have a haul video soon on my YouTube channel showing you a sneak peek of my huge giveaway coming up next month around Thanksgiving!  Please stay tuned for that announcement.  If you are not subscribed to my channel yet (www.youtube.com/rprmlr772), you need to head on over there because you wouldn’t want to miss new process videos of craft projects I have lined up, plus of course the giveaways I do regularly.

I started out by stamping the cat image with my stamping tool, using two light gray inks,  the Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink and Lawn Fawn Hippo Ink.  I have the coordinating die for the cat but I didn’t want a black border around it so I fuzzy-cut it with my precision tip scissors.

I used the biggest of the Cross-stitched rectangle die to die-cut my card front with a light gray card stock, and used a die from my stash to create the spooky window scene.  I wanted to do a fun shaker card and use one of my all-time favorite sequin mixes by Kat, called Spooky Sparkles Sequin Mix.   I covered my little spooky scene with the Dovecraft Heat-resistant Acetate sheets.

I die-cut my spider-web with the Lawn Fawn Spider Web die, adhering it with my Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive, and also adhered my Black Cat and the Waves Border Die.  I finished the design by adding the little ghosts from the Boo-tacular Sequin Mix and stamped the sentiment.  Here’s the card:

Back to School with Xyron – Reusable (Laminated) Lunch Box Notes

Good morning my crafty peeps!  I am back today to share a (very easy) Back-To-School project, using my all-time favorite Mega Tape Adhesive Tape Runner and my Creative Station Lite with a Double-Side Laminate by Xyron.

When my kids were younger, I used to include lunch box “love notes” in my children’s lunch boxes, with some treats. I wanted them to feel that they are loved and special.  They also told me that it always cheered them up when they were having a bad day at school and they always look forward to opening their lunch boxes.  Just a warning though, this made some other kids in their class super jealous and started asking their mommies why they didn’t have cute notes and special treats in their lunch boxes! Haha! Needless to say, I was requested by the “non-crafty” mommies to make some lunchbox notes for their child!

I started out by stamping my images using my new favorite stamping platform by Tim Holtz. Since these images will go in lunch boxes, there is no need to take so much time with shading and such to color them in. I die-cut my images with the coordinating dies.

XyronLunchbox1

I already have some business-card size card stock in my stash so all I had to do was adhere my images to the card stock using my Xyron Mega Adhesive Tape Runner.

XyronBacktoSchool4

I stamped my sentiments with some stamps that I already have from my stash. You don’t have to use stamps for your sentiments. You can also write your own messages. I think it will actually be more special if you did!   I used my Creative Station Lite with the Double-sided Laminate to laminate my notes. This will protect your lunch box notes from the moisture inside the lunch box; plus you can totally reuse them over and over again!

Here’s what they all look like when laminated:

This project will also be perfect for your little kids if they want to make their own notes to give to their classmates.   Aren’t they adorable?  I hope you like my back-to-school project today. Have an amazing day!

For today’s card, I am showcasing the Lovable Laundry Stamp Set and the Stitched Onesie die.

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock, and colored the images with my Copic markers. I die-cut the grass, using NND’s Land Border Dies.  I die-cut the baby clothes with its coordinating die.  I really love the stitching details it gives on the die-cut piece.

I used my clouds embossing folder and dry-embossed my card front panel. To give more definition to the clouds, I colored the embossed image with my Copic marker.  I adhered my stamped images and die-cut pieces to the embossed panel, with my Xyron tape runner.

To finish off the design, I added the sun, butterfly and gemstones to the baby clothes and stamped the 3 hearts on the clouds.  Here is the card:

Newton’s Nook February Release and an Easter Card

Hello my crafty friends! I am back today to share with you an Easter card that I have made (with a process video below). In the video, I have also shared the February release of stamps and dies by Newton’s Nook, including all of the other projects I have made.

You might think it’s strange that the Easter eggs on my card below look like a tree ornament, right? Let me tell you the inspiration for this. I have a small tree in my craft room that I decorate for every holiday. Easter is no exception. I love decorating my craft space and this tiny tree give a nice glow in the evening when I’m crafting and it makes me happy. Here’s the photo:

Every Year I Fall For You

I am super excited to share this post today because it is my first post as a design team member for Newton’s Nook Designs (“NND”).

Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, I decided to start my projects early.  I wasn’t really sure in the beginning what images I wanted to use for the card so I had stamped out a couple of NND images on Neenah solar white card stock, using my stamping tool and colored the images using my Copic markers. I ended up not using the other images I colored and I have set it aside for a future project in mind. I die-cut the images with my die-cutting machine using the coordinating dies.

For my card, I am showcasing the “What A Hoot stamp set and What A Hoot Die Set” and for my sentiment, I used “Fall-ing For You stamp set“. I did a little bit of masking so that I only use the words “every year, I fall for you”. I think it turned out perfectly!
