Small Paws, Big Hearts

Hello everyone.  I am back today for Newton’s Nook Designs and I am sharing a simple dog-themed card, showcasing the Terrific Terriers stamp set and its coordinating dies.  I am currently in Toronto, Canada undergoing physiotherapy so I will keep this blog post short.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and I colored my images in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the rest of the pieces that I needed for my card using dies from my stash.  I finished my design by creating my own “patterned paper” using the paw prints and the heart that came with the stamp set.

Here is my card today.  As you can see, it is very simple but I really love how it turned out.  This stamp set is now available for purchase at http://www.newtonsnook.com.  Have an amazing day!

Prayers & Hugs Coming Your Way

Hello everyone! It’s Maria Russell here with you today. It’s been awhile since I made a project for Kat Scrappiness. I was traveling for two weeks and if you have been following me here on my blog, you’ll probably know that I got sick. I am on the mend now but it is taking a lot longer than expected which is making me a little miserable!

I apologize that I don’t have a process video for you today because it takes awhile for me to create a project right now. I can’t sit still for so long and look down so I constantly take a break and walk so I don’t get any pains. Please bear with me as I get better and I promise to make more process videos once I am over this hump.

For my shaker card today, I am showcasing the Hero Arts Color Layering Poppy Stamps and Dies, the Prayers Stamps and Die set, with the Wood Floorboard Prints Cling stamp, as well as the White Diamond sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness, and a lot more supplies available at Kat Scrappiness online store.

I started out by stamping and layering my images on Neenah solar white card stock using three Lawn Fawn Ballet Slippers, Guava and Lobster ink. I die-cut the flowers using the coordinating dies.

I stamped my background using the wood floorboard cling stamp with light- gray ink. I wanted a subtle background for my card because I wanted the main focal point to stand out, which are the poppies!

I die-cut the prayers die using a dark gray card stock, and stamped my sentiment using the Hippo Ink on my card front.

I ran my flowers, branches and die cut sentiment using my favorite Xyron sticker maker and Mega Tape Runner. I also adhered my acetate sheet using glue dots, and created my shaker window panel with scotch foam tape. I added my favorite White Diamond sequin mix by Kat Scrappiness and adhered my window panel to my card base.

I finished off my design by sponging my Neenah white card stock with the Tim Holtz worn lipstick distressed oxide ink to match the color of the dot details on my shaker card.

Here is the card. I hope you like it and got inspired today. The supplies I have used are listed and linked below. Have a great weekend!

Hello my crafty peeps!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  I am back today to share a card that I made for my sister, showcasing the Newton’s Nook Lovely Blooms stamp set and dies.  This stamp set is a must-have and is one of my favorites.

I have a process video for you today.  Just a little disclaimer though, I didn’t realize that my cat was on my craft table in my studio and had shifted my tripod a little bit so I was out of frame when I was recording the video.  I didn’t want to film the whole process again so I apologize for that.   I will make sure to NOT make the same mistake the next time and will check the camera while filming.  Thank you for understanding.

Here’s the card:

NND_17April_BeautifulPlumage

I stamped my peacock on Neenah solar white card stock and colored my images in with my Copic markers. I also wanted to highlight the swirls on the peacock so I used my Sakura gel pen, and used my gold stickles to add a whimsical touch to the simple coloring and make the image pop.

I have a clouds border die from my stash that I use as stencil to add some cloud images on my front panel. Using my sponge and broken china distress ink, I lightly sponged the color on my card stock to create the look of the clouds.  I then dry-embossed my card stock with my embossing folder and die-cut the window with a die from my stash.  I knew I wanted some branches and flowers for my peacock and so I die-cut a bunch of those branches from a Cherry Blossom die-set by Spellbinders.  I made the flowers pop by using the end of my marker and pushing it in on a foam pad to make it look more realistic.  I adhered the images with my Xyron mega runner and liquid glue.

Lawn Fawn and Xyron – Meow You Doin’

Hello my crafty friends. I am so happy to share this blog post today. Xyron is collaborating with Lawn Fawn and the Xyron design team will be sharing projects showcasing Lawn Fawn products (from March 27 to 31, 2017).  We’re also having a giveaway to celebrate! Just leave a comment on any (or all) of the Lawn Fawn projects we share on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/xyroninc/) all week long and someone is going to win a $50 prize pack – a $25 LF gift certificate and a Xyron Mega Runner!

If you have been following me for a while, you know I LOVE all things LAWN FAWN. I have been a huge fan for years!  Please check out the new Lawn Fawn products at www.lawnfawn.com or for details about this hop, visit the Lawn Fawn blog at: http://lawnfawn.blogspot.com/.

I have a birthday pop-up box for you today and a process video below for Meow You Doin’  card, showcasing the Meow You Doin’ stamp set and dies, 6×6 Perfectly Plaid Rainbow paper pad, and a lot of other Lawn Fawn products that I have from my stash.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers. I die-cut the pop-up box using a light blue card stock. I also die-cut the square boxes using the dies with the rainbow paper pad, and used my grassy hills border dies to die-cut the grass for my scene.

Before I assembled the box, I stamped some clouds and the sun on a white square piece of card stock. I assembled the box and started decorating it with the rest of my die-cut pieces.

I stamped the script “happy” and die-cut the piece with its coordinating die. I used my Xyron sticker maker to adhere it to the front flap of my card.   I love using the sticker maker for this type of project because it really makes my life easier and the die-cut piece is perfectly adhered to the card.
