Hello stampers and crafters! I’m back today to share with you two fall cards that I have designed, showcasing Lawn Fawn Winter Sparrows, KatScrappiness Double-Stitched Circle Frames Dies and other products available at the shop.
The winter sparrows stamp set is actually meant for Christmas or Winter-themed cards but if you have been following me for awhile, you know that I like to stretch my stamps and use them for different seasons.
I am going to keep this blog post short because I am sharing a process video on how I made the cards. Which one is your favorite?
The supplies I have used will be listed and linked below. Have an amazing day!
Fall is in the air! Donโt you just love the short days, comfort food, colorful leaves, sweater weather and pumpkin spice? I got so inspired today by a stamp set by Newtonโs Nook Designs called โFall-ing For youโ that I decided to create a fall card. ย This card is also my entry for the new Simon Says Stamp Challenge – Autumn.
I started out by stamping my image on Neenah Solar White card stock with my stamping tool, and colored my images using my Copic markers.
I went ahead to die-cut my card panel and mat using my new favorite die by KatScrappiness โ the โDouble Stitched Rectangle Nesting Diesโ. These nesting dies are so versatile that I am finding myself using them in all of my paper crafting projects. ย I also distressed my smaller rectangle piece using Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink by Tim Holtz, andย used my watercolor brush to sprinkle water on my card stock to give it a distressed look.
I wanted to have some fall leaves for my card and so I decided to use my Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves die, die-cutting a bunch of fall leaves in different colors, including some vellum.
Here is my card design for today. Donโt you just love fall? I love the simplicity of this card and I hope I have inspired you today to create something beautiful, or just go outside, take a leisure-walk, and enjoy the fall weather! Have an amazing day!
I am super excited to join the Fall Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop. I love this community and I can’t wait to see everyone’s creations. ย Thank you, Amy Tsuruta and the rest of the amazing team at Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog. You guys rock!
For my card today, I used the digital stamp by http://www.jessicalynnoriginal.com. ย This digital stamp is free for download during this Hop. ย Isn’t Brentwood adorable?! I didn’t want to create a card with the traditional fall colors, which is why I tried the color combination on the card below.
If you are wondering where to get the amazing sequins that I used for my card, I got them from http://www.katscrappiness.com/?aff=21 ย Kat has over 200+ (unique) sequins and confetti mixes for every occasion. ย MY favorites are the Halloween, Fall and Christmas mixes!
I am off to Dubai tomorrow for some much-needed R&R. ย I hope you all have an amazing weekend! ย Happy fall everyone!
I’m back today with a fall card showcasing the new Fall Friends stamp set by MFT Stamps. ย The card below is my entryย for the current sketch challenge no. 299. ย ย For more information or if you would like to join the challenge, ย please click on this link http://www.cardchallenges.com/2016/09/wednesday-sketch-challenge-sketch-299.html Here is my rendition for sketch 299:
I am back today to share with you a card that I made as my third and final entry for the MFT Stamps 2016 Card Design Superstar. ย It has been a wonderful, scary and intimidating experience thus far. As I write this blog post, there are almost 400 entries! Scary, huh?
Todayโs card is a simple thank you card for my best friend, who lives in Washington, D.C. I am a little sad that we are not going to be able to spend Thanksgiving together again this year. I made this card to let her know that she means so much to me, and I am grateful to have her in my life!
Grateful For You – Card Design by Maria Russell
I started out by stamping the images on Neenah solar white card stock using MFT stamps Black Licorice hybrid ink. I used Copic markers to color the images. Since I didnโt have the coordinating dies, I had to fuzzy cut all of the images using my precision scissors.
For my card scene, I had to think outside the box again to create a larger window for my critters so I decided to use the gift box cover up die. I think it turned out perfectly.
Sweet Celebration 6×6 Paper Pad (from the birthday card kit)
To finish off the card, I used my black gel pen to give the eyes more dimension, my white gel pen to highlight the cheeks and the leaves, and also used glossy accents on the acorns.
I was so excited to join this challenge because I basically had all the card stock that was required. I must admit, however, that this challenge was quite difficult for me because my least favorite color of all time is bright yellow. I decided to use Daffodil Delight as my card base. I had the whole week trying here and there to come up with a good design and it wasnโt easy. So this is what I finally put together. I hope you like the card.
