NNDMarch18HoldingHappiness

For my first card,  I started by using my small sponge dauber and different inks to color my Bristol smooth white card stock and create a colorful background.  I also stamped my images with my memento tuxedo black ink on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my copic markers.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.

Using a scallop border die from my stash, I die-cut two pieces of yellow card stock.  Since this card is meant for a birthday, I wanted to create a very happy and colorful card using pinks, blues and yellows.

To finish my design, I stamped my sentiment using my Versamark ink onto a piece of black card stock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  Here is the first card:

For my second card, I wanted the colorful balloons to pop and be the center of attention so I decided to go for a white on white background.  I die-cut 3 pieces of 100 lb. Neenah Classic Index card stock using my Hexagon dies.   I colored the images using my Copic markers.    Here is the second card:

Here are the images of the Newton’s Easter Basket stamp set and dies, with the Cloudy Sky stencil:

I started out by die-cutting a Bristol smooth white card stock using the Scallop Rectangle die from the Frames and Flags die set.  I used the new Cloudy Sky stencil and my broken china distress oxide ink with my mini-ink blending tool to create my cloudy sky.

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the colored images with its coordinating dies.  To finish my design, I die-cut a mint card stock using the land border dies, and added the small trees.  Here’s my card:

NND January Release – Deer Friend Stamp Set and Dies

NNDJan18ReleaseIcon_Jan18

It is the third day of the January reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs and today we are showcasing the Deer Friend stamp set and coordinating dies.   [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you for understanding and I apologize for the confusion.]

NNDJan18_DeerFriend

I stamped all of the images on Neenah Solar White card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.  I wanted to showcase the deer by creating a shadow box card.  This card can be folded flat and inserted in an envelope for mailing.  I followed a shadowbox tutorial on pinterest.  here’s what you need:

  1.  Cut two pieces of card stock measuring 4 1/4 X 6 3/4, and score 1 1/4 from each long edge.
  2. Die-cut a square window from the center of one of the panels (this is your front piece).  You will later on connect both panels to create your shadow box.
  3. Cut a 4 1/4 square panel of patterned paper and adhere to the center of the second card panel (this is your back piece).  (You can do your stamping here before you assemble the box).
  4. Cut two pieces of green card stock. One is measuring 1 1/4 x 5 and the other is measuring 1 x 5 and score from each long edge at 3/8″
  5. I used the Newton’s Nook Grass Border die to die-cut the green panels.
  6. Adhere some score tape on each scored panels.
  7. Fold the ground panels flat, flush to the card’s bottom edge. Fold right side flat over them to adhere.
  8. Attach the images you need to decorate your shadow box.
  9. Fold box flat and adhere right side flaps to close the card.

Here are some step-by-step photos:

Here is the card:

You can also use acetate sheets to suspend some images inside your shadow box (i.e., birds, clouds, etc.)  I hope you got inspired today to create your own shadow box.

It is the second day of the January reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs and today we are showcasing the Sending Hugs Stamp Set and Coordinating Dies.  I love that the dies cut through the arms and it can hug the little images included in the stamp set. [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. NNDJan18_SendingHugs

I stamped all of the images on Neenah Solar White card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.

I die-cut a piece of white card stock measuring 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 and used a die from my stash to cut out the window.  I also used another die to die-cut a branch for my Owl to perch on.  I finished my design my adding the pink hearts from the Love Bites die set (showcased yesterday).  Here’s my first card:

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe and Peppermint Cards

Are you all done making your Christmas cards yet? I certainly am not. My travels kind of put me behind schedule so I am trying to catch up this week before I ventured off again to my next destination.

For my card below, I am showcasing the Pug Hugs, with the Holiday Smooches, Holiday Hounds and the Llama Delivery stamp sets by Newton’s Nook Designs. I love mixing and matching my stamp sets to create my scene.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers. Since I didn’t want to leave a white border around the images, I decided to fuzzy-cut the Santa hat as well as the Pug. I also die-cut a birch tree from a die I have from my collection.

I used the Frames and Flags die set to create the frame for my card. I die-cut the frames on Bristol Smooth White card stock and on 110 lb. red card stock. I also used the land border dies to die-cut a snowy hill for my Pug.

IMG_6362

To create my sky background, I used my mini ink-blending tool with broken china distress oxide ink then sprayed water using my distress sprayer. I used a paper towel to dab it dry.

I adhered the birch tree, snowy hill and my Pug to the card front. I stamped the mistletoe directly onto my background and colored the image with my Copic marker. I used my white Nuvo crystal drops to create dimension on the berries and the Santa hat. I also adhered the presents next to the Pug.

To finish my design, I used my Sharpie white pen and added dots to my card to create the look of snow.

Here’s my card:

NNDPugMistletoe

I also wanted to include two cards that I recently made using the new Peppermint die set. This die is a must-have for any paper crafter.

I hope you like my projects today and got inspired. The supplies I used are listed and linked below if you are interested. Have a great day!

Home For the Holidays by Wild Whisper With Xyron

Hello my crafty friends.  The Xyron DT is teaming up with Wild Whisper all week long.  I have 3 very simple cards to share with you today, showcasing the new stamp set by Wild Whisper called Home for the Holidays, as well as the coordinating patterned papers, with adhesives by Xyron.  Here are the products I got to play with.  Thank you Wild Whisper and Xyron, Inc. for the amazing goodies!

IMG_6253

For my first card, I started out by cutting an A2 size white card stock and also die-cut a small rectangle masking paper by Inkadinkado, to mask the middle of my card.  I stamped the images onto my card stock with different stamp inks.

IMG_6254

I removed the mask, and positioned my stamp onto the card front so that I can stamp the sentiment right in the middle.  This technique made the sentiment pop even with the busy background.  I adhered the card stock to my card base with my favorite Xyron Mega Runner.

IMG_6252

To finish my design, I added glossy accents to the bottle images, and added a few colorful dots.

Here’s my card:

XyronWildWhisper1

For my second card, I stamped the doily image using versa mark ink on my Sahara Sand card stock.  I wanted the background to be subtle.  I then stamped the sentiment and the antlers.  I colored the antlers with my Copic markers.  I finished my design by adding the bow, and the gold stars.

XyronWildWhisper2

For my third card, I drew a circle on the center of my white card stock, and stamped the stars around the circle to create my wreath.  I stamped the antlers and the sentiment using Versafine Onyx black ink.  It is a very simple card but I love how it turned out.

XyronWildWhisper3

I hope you like my projects today.  Please visit www.wildwhisperdesigns.com to shop for for your paper crafting supplies.  Also visit the Xyron, Inc. Facebook page for more project inspiration.  Have an amazing day!
