Kindred Stamps July Release – Plastic Friends

Welcome to the Kindred Stamps July Stamp release.   We have a great variety of stamp sets for you this month.  I am so lucky to be a part of this blog hop and for today’s projects, I am showcasing the new Plastic Friends stamp set.

I got carried away and created three (3) projects today.  For my first card, I colored the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.   I fuzzy-cut the images with my precision cut scissors.  For my borders, I cut some 110 lb. crd stock using the Drifting Stitches Borders by Simon Says Stamp.  I also die-cut a patterned paper by Molly & Rex that Purchased at my local Michael’s Craft Store.  Here is my first card:

I have yet to master the art of coloring hair.  It is a huge struggle for me but I still LOVE how this card turned out.  Here’s another look:

KindredPlasticFriends1C

For my second card, I inked up some Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks with my mini ink-blending tools.  I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Seedless Preserves and Worn Lipstick.  I sprayed it with water using my distress sprayer and dabbed it with my paper towel.

I die-cut the little window using a Stitched Rectangle Peek-A-Boo die by My Favorite Things.  I adhered this onto my card base, and also adhered the cute image.  I finished the design by stamping the sentiment.  Here’s the second card:

Here’s a little close-up:

For my third project, I die-cut some Bristol Smooth white card stock using the CityScape die by My Favorite Things.  I inked up my die-cut with distress oxide inks.  Once again, I used Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China, Seedless Preserves and Worn Lipstick.  I then flipped the colored background and used Black Soot.

I sprayed my colored background with distress sprayer and dabbed it with my paper towel.  I used a Clouds Border Stencil to color my card base with Broken China distress oxide ink.  I adhered the die-cut piece to my background.  To finish the design, I adhered the images and stamped the sentiment onto the card.

KindredPlasticFriends3A

I think this one is my favorite.  I just love the rainbow-colored background!  Here’s a little close-up:

KindredPlasticFriends3B

I added some white dots on their cheeks and also used my black glazed pen for the eyes.  I really love how this card turned out!

Life is Better in Flip Flops

Hello everyone!  First of, let me apologize because this is my second post for the day.  I belong to a couple of design teams and I am doing a double-whammy kind of day!  Having said this, I am really looking forward to a short break.  I am currently back home in the Sunshine State, enjoying wearing tank tops, shorts and flip flops!

For my project today, I am showcasing the Flip Flop Life stamp set and Flip Flop Life coordinating dies.

I started out by die-cutting my frame and the other card stock that I needed for my project.  I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  Since this is a summer-themed project, I wanted to create a card with cheerful colors.    I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.

I adhered my stitched circle patterned frame onto my card base and also adhered the little flip flops.  To finish my design, I die-cut a piece of black card stock using a banner frame.  I stamped the sentiment using Versafine ink and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder.  I was going to add some glossy accents to the straps to make it shiny, but I didn’t have enough time to wait to let it dry before I take my photos.  I made this project a few hours before I left for the airport.  Anyways, here is my card:

NNDFlipflops1A

Oh, I also added a small white bow just to make it cuter! Haha! Here’s another look:

NNDflipflops1B

Is anyone else enjoying the flip flops, shorts and a lot of sunshine?  I hope so!  I’m thinking about you all as I sip my Pina Colada’s by Cocoa Beach!

I hope you like my project today.  Please visit Newton’s Nook Designs to check out the July release.   I left the coupon code below if you’d like to avail of the promo going on until July 27, 2018.  Have an amazing day and happy crafting!

Coffee or Middle Fingers For Today

For my project below, I am showcasing the Cup of Coffee stamp set, Coffee Cup Fri-Dies and the Hot Coffee stamp set.  I have been meaning to make this card to give to a family friend who drinks a lot of coffee (and vodka), especially when she’s upset.  I figured this card will cheer her up and make her laugh.

I started out by die-cutting my coffee cup on a watercolor background paper .  I also die-cut out the middle piece of the coffee die on some Neenah solar white card stock and used my E35 and E37 copic markers to color it.  I adhered this piece to the coffee cup.

On another A2 size solar white card stock, I used a border die from my stash.  I stamped the sentiment from the Hot Coffee stamp set all over my white card stock to make it look like watermark.  I think the sentiment “possibly VODKA” is hilarious!

I die-cut the coffee script sentiment using the die that is included in the Coffee Cup Fri-Dies with some black card stock.  I adhered this piece on the coffee cup.  To finish my design, I positioned the sentiment onto my stamping tool and masked some of it so that it can fit on the coffee cup.  I also used my Sakura Gelli-roll white pen to add some details to my card.

I specifically stamped the sentiment “possibly VODKA” with a light gray ink so that it wouldn’t overwhelm the whole card design.  Here’s a little close-up:

I absolutely adore these stamp sets!

I hope you like my project today.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code below when you place an order at the shop.  Have a nice day and happy crafting!

Just A Little Hello

Howdy Kat Scrappiness fans!  Maria here on the blog today with a simple card, showcasing the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set.  If you are waiting for this die-set, you are in luck because they are arriving back in stock next week!  If you haven’t ordered this yet, you can now reserve it so that you don’t have to wait again.

To make things easier for me, I started out by choosing a sketch pattern from the Kat Scrappiness site (you can see this photo on the product sample).  I downloaded this sketch and inserted this piece in the envelope with the dies so I can use them for my future projects.  Sometimes, it is helpful to have it when you’re not feeling crafty!  I am having one of those days since the majority of my supplies are currently loaded in a shipping container, en-route to our home in FL.

I die-cut some A2 size card stock with the rounded-edge rectangle die.  I used the same die to die-cut a patterned paper.

I used the long strip die that is included in the set to die-cut another piece of some white card stock (slightly a different color from my card base).  I also used the stars die to die-cut  one pin pink, blue and yellow.

I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the image with the coordinating die.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and used my belli-roll pen to add more details to the images.  Here’s my card:

I love the simplicity of this card.  I didn’t do a lot as you can tell, but it turned out really cute!  This sketch is also perfect to create a “Welcome Baby” card.  Here’s another look:

This Crafter’s Essentials 1 die setis definitely a must-have for any paper crafter.  I think the little stitched star die is just the right size to add to your projects.  I love the stitching details to it as well.

I hope you like my card today.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order at the shop.  Don’t forget to check the clearance section too!  I wish you all a wonderful day!  Happy crafting!

For my one-layer card, I am showcasing the Purr-maid Newton stamp set.  There’s nothing cuter than these cat merman and mermaid so I wanted to use them again.  I also combined my project with the Tranquil Tides stamp set.

I started out by inking up some Bristol smooth white card stock with distress oxide inks and my mini ink blending tools.  For the sand, I used a combination of Antique Linen and Vintage Photo.  For the sea, I used Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Shaded Lilac.  I sprayed water on my colored background and dabbed it with a paper towel.

I stamped the coral images with Faded Jeans distress oxide.  I love this effect because it made it look more realistic!

I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I have coordinating dies for these images but I chose to fuzzy-cut them this time.

IMG_9088

I adhered my images onto the foreground and stamped little bubbles here and there.  I also stamped other images to complete my scene and finished my design by adding glossy accents to the bubbles, and stamped my sentiment.   Here’s my card:

NND5YrCelebHop

I love this sentiment so much and those mermaid/merman images are so cute!  Here’s a little close-up:

Oh, I also added some stardust stickles to the mermaid seashell bra to give it a whimsical look.

Here’s my card showcasing the Pina Koala stamp set and coordinating dies.  I also combined some images from the Aloha Newton stamp set.

NNDPinaKoala1

Isn’t this card so adorable?  I love that the Koala peeks through the window and the flowers and the pina-colada images I added gave it a whimsical look!

NNDPinaKoala1B

When I was designing this card, I was thinking about Jennifer and Jeff Jackson sipping through their drinks while they were on a cruise last month.  I don’t have the courage to go on a cruise just yet but one of these days, I probably will.

NNDPinaKoala1A

For my second card, I used the adorable Cat Treats stamp set.  A simple design but I’m happy how this turned out.

NNDCatTreats1

These images are so cute!   Here’s a little close-up:

Since we are featuring a ton of products this week, I will not have a step-by-step tutorial on how I made the cards.  However, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel because I will posting video tutorials for most of the cards that you see today in the next few weeks.

You will notice for today’s post, I have a similar card design for both cards I’m featuring today.

Here is my card showcasing the Shark Frenzy stamp set.   I also used the Sunscape stencil to create my scene.  I wanted to create another birthday card since I always send those out to my family and friends.

NNDSharkFrenzy1

I also used the Frames and Flags die set.

NNDSharkFrenzy1A

I think this stamp set os so much fun and it has a lot of possibilities.

Here’s my card featuring the Flamingo Flock stamp set.  This one is really cute.  I wanted one flamingo to stand out above the crowd so I only colored one in pink.  The rest were in gray.

NNDFlamingoFlock1

I don’t have a ton of friends but the ones I do have just stand out above the crowd.    They are what I call “my people”.

NNDFlamincoFlock1B

Here’s another look:

NNDNewtonSummerTreats1

I wanted a happy birthday card with a shaker element.   Just looking at this image makes me want to go to Baskin Robbins to get a banana-split!  Ice cream is my favorite dessert so thank goodness I don’t live near one or I will be weighing a ton.

NNDNewtonSummerTreats1A

I used my sakura gelli-roll white pen to add details to the images.

NNDNewtonSummerTreat1B

Here’s my card showcasing the Cozy Campers stamp set and coordinating dies.  I love this stamp set so much because I love camping!  One of these days when my husband and I move back home permanently, he promised to get me a camper.  I just wish it’ll be as cute as Jennifer’s drawings.

NNDCozyCampers1

I created an evening scene with the full moon.  The only thing missing on the table is a glass of wine (or two), or maybe a camp fire!

NNDCozyCampers1A

This card just makes me dream of camping again.   Maybe the next time my husband and I go camping, he will take me to Montana!

Newton’s Nook Designs 5 Year Celebration – Day 1

NNDJuly18_5yr

We are so excited for our July release because this month marks Newton’s Nook 5-year anniversary.  We will be celebrating with a fun blog hop at the end of the week in addition to the large product release so be prepared to be dazzled.  First day is the start of our reveals of the new stencils, stamp set and dies by Newton’s Nook Designs.   You also have a chance to win a $20 Store Credit for each reveal day so please read through til the end to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Manatee-rific and coordinating dies

NNDJuly18_Manatee-rific

With two stencils –  Tropical Fish and Seashells

NNDJuly18_Stencils

I know this sounds redundant but each reveal month, I am just blown away by the talented Jennifer Jackson.   It seems that every month, it just gets better and better!

Since we are featuring a ton of products this week, I will not have a step-by-step tutorial on how I made the cards.  However, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel because I will posting video tutorials for most of the cards that you see today in the next few weeks.

Here is my Narly Mermaid card.  I also combined this card with the Tranquil Tides stamp set to create my under-water scene.

NNDNarlyMermaids1

I just love the sparkling jewels that I added to my scene to make them look like bubbles. Here’s a little close-up:

NNDNarlyMermaids1A

The second stamp set is called Purr-maid Newton.  Oh my goodness!  I have been hounding Jennifer to create a mermaid cat and my wishes finally came true!  Haha!  This stamp set is a MUST-HAVE!

Once again I combined the stamp set with the Tranquil Tides stamp set, with the Sea Borders die set and the Waves stencil.

NNDPurrmaidNewton1

I used the Sea Borders die set to create the fun waves.  Here’s another look:

NNDPurrmaidNewton1A

Last but not the least, here is my card using the Manatee-rific stamp set and coordinating dies with the Sunscape stencil.  Just looking at this card makes me happy!

NNDManateerific1

I added more sparkling clear jewels to make them look like bubbles.  I also LOVE that the die cuts the middle piece and the Manatee will hug tine embellishments like heart or seashell included in the stamp set.  SUPER ADORABLE!  Here’s a little close-up:

NNDManateerific1A

Which one is your favorite?  I can’t pick one because I love them all!
