For Day 3, we are showcasing the following Hot Foil Plates –> Confetti, Paw Prints and Birthday Sentiments.

I opted for a cute mini slimline card to showcase the Confetti Hot Foil Plate. My Gemini Foil Press Machine gave up on me so I was only able to make one card, boohoo!

After hot foiling the background, I adhered some gold and black card stock behind to give it more dimension. I also used the same gold card stock to trim two strips and adhered both pieces on the foreground with liquid glue.

Next, adhering the focal panel on a mini slimline card base with liquid glue; and used some gold gel pen to add some lines and dots for added interest.

I finished the card design by adding the sentiment that I foiled using the Birthday Sentiments Hot Foil Plate and foam-mounting it onto the card for added dimension.

Would you like to win the “Paw Print Hot Foil Plate”?  This stamp set will be given away to ONE lucky winner!

For Day 2, we are showcasing the Birthday Barks Stamp Set + Coordinating Dies and Birthday Woofs Paper Pad.

I first trimmed some Bristol smooth white card stock measuring 5 1/4 by 4 inches and used the Slimline Masking Circles Stencil to create the colorful circles with different colors of dye inks. I added some interest to the circles by using some white gel pen and drew some dots and squigglies. I also used some black marker to add more dots to the background.

Next, I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on some white card stock and colored the images in with alcohol markers. I used the coordinating die to cut them all out

The background panel was adhered to some black card stock and added to a white top-folding notecard. I used the flag dies from the Frames & Flags Die set to die cut a few pattern paper from the Birthday Woofs Paper Pad and adhered to the card, then foam-mounted the focal image for added dimension.

I finished the card design by adding the sentiment that was heat-embossed on some black card stock. Here’s another look:

NND July Release Day 1 – Newton’s Birthday Delight and Birthday Meows Paper Pad + Giveaway

Hello and Welcome to the Newton’s Nook July Release and 10-year Birthday Celebration. I am so excited to show off the new products by Newton’s Nook Designs.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For Day 1 of the reveals, we are showcasing the amazing Newton’s Birthday Delight Stamp Set with Coordinating Die Set and Birthday Meow’s Paper Pad.

I started by adhering the Birthday Meow’s Paper on some A2-size notecard. I trimmed some Bristol Smooth White Card Stock measuring 5 x 3 3/4 inches and used Distress Inks and blending brushes to ink-blend this panel.

I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I colored the images in using Copic markers.

Next, I pressed the Aged Mahogany Distress ink on the acrylic block and added some water; I then used my watercolor brush to add splatters to the ink-blended panel. This created more texture to the background. I die-cut the grass panel using the Land Border Die and the Birthday Meow’s Paper Pad and adhered on the panel. I also added the colored images to the foreground with liquid glue.

I adhered the focal panel with some black card stock and trimmed it closed to the size of the panel to ground the images, and added to the card.

The last thing to do is add the sentiment that I heat-embossed on some black card stock and die-cut using the circle die from the Frames Squared Die Set. Here’s another look:

You’re Always In My Thoughts with LDRS Creative’s New Release

When I saw the Poppy Posy Stamp Set and Poppy Posy Coordinating Dies, followed by the Poppy Posy Layering Stencils, I knew I just have to have it! Whenever there is a chance to use the LDRS Hybrid Inks to color images, I’m definitely all in!

I started by stamping the image on some Neenah Solar White card stock using Raven Hybrid Ink. I used the Poppy Posy Layering Stencil 1A and Kiss Me Red Hybrid Ink with my mini sponge daubers. Next is Stencil 1B with Scarlet Rose and I also used the Coffee Bean to add more depth. I then moved on to using the other stencils with Evergreen and Key Lime Pie.

Using the Poppy Posy Coordinating Die Set made it easier to cut out the image. However, somehow my cutting machine did not cut it right so with the help of precision snips, I managed to cut out some of the excess white outline.

The background was created by trimming some white card stock to 4 x 5 1/4 inches using the new Old Brick Wall stamp set and Alloy Hybrid Ink. I used fun foam and tape runner to adhere this panel on some black notecard for added dimension. To give the card more texture, I die-cut some leaves using the Perfect Petals Layering Die Set and adhered the leaves on the background, before foam-mounting the focal image to the card. The sentiment was then stamped on some black card stock with watermark Ink and heat-embossed with the white embossing powder and heating tool.  This was also foam-mounted to the card.

Lastly, I added some Lovely Watercolor Enamel Dots and used my white gel pen to add more texture to the flowers. Here’s another look at the card:

I hope you guys like this card and got inspired. The supplies I used are highlighted and linked within the context of this blog post. Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

Let Your Light Shine with Newton’s Nook

I have been building up my stash of “just-because” cards and today’s project features the new Succulent Garden Stamp Set with the Trailing Leaves Stencil for a fabulous plant themed greeting!

To start, I die-cut the Slimline Frames & Portholes Die Set to cut out a fun scalloped border and also used Circle Frames Die Set to die-cut three circles to frame each shape. I adhered both panels to a slimline black card base and drew some lines and dots for added dimension.

The rainbow panel was inked up with some distress oxide inks and I used the Trailing Leaves Stencil over the top with some black ink. I used the same Circle Frames Die Set to die-cut the circles and adhered them onto the card with liquid glue.

I added several succulent plants to the top and bottom circles using the Succulent Garden Stamp Set and die-cut with the Succulent Garden Die Set

The final detail is the “Let Your Light Shine” Sentiment across the center. To create this, I used the Bright Sentiments Hot Foil Plates with bright blue foil on black card stock and die-cut using the  Banner Duo Die Set. easy Peasy. Here’s another look:

Thinking of You Always with LDRS Creative

Hello LDRS Creative fans! Today I’m sharing a super simple yet elegant card, showcasing the AMAZING Delicate Stitches Scalloped Rectangle Dies that I paired with previously released, Flower Doodles Stamp SetFlower Doodles Coordinating Die SetFlower Doodles Layering Stencils and Orchid Stamp Set (background) by LDRS Creative.

I started by stamping the diamond pattern background on some A2-size Neenah Solar White Card Stock using the Orchid Stamp Set with Iced Tea Hybrid Ink.  I didn’t want the color to be super dark so I stamped it first on some scrap paper then stamped it onto the background panel.

Next, the scallop frame was made by using the Delicate Stitches Scalloped Rectangle Dies on some Neenah Solar White Card Stock.  I foam-mounted this on the background panel for added dimension and adhered both of these pieces to some white top-folding notecard.

The Flower Doodles Stamp Set was stamped using Raven Hybrid Ink then colored using the Flower Doodles Layering Stencils and the following Hybrid inks –> Dark Wash JeansMarina MadnessDan-D-LionKey Lime Pie and Evergreen.  I die-cut the images with the Flower Doodles Coordinating Die Set and adhered onto the focal panel with liquid glue.

The sentiment was stamped onto some black card stock with Watermark Ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder then I heat-set with the heating tool.  I adhered this onto the focal panel and finished the design by adding some lines and dots on the card for added interest.  Here’s another look:
