I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock using my stamping platform.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.  I also die-cut the Came frame on black glittered card stock to make it stand-out a little and give it more dimension.

To finish the design, I stamped the sentiment using versa mark ink and heat set it with white embossing powder.  Here’s my card:

For my second card, I stamped and die-cut the small leaves and little acorns to create a wreath for my card. I also used the falling leaves stencil to add some color and finished the design by adding a small bow on the wreath, using the Pines and Holly die set. Here’s the card:

A Halloween Hello

MFT_Superstars2017_BlogBanner

The MFT Card Design Superstar is finally here! The card that you see below is my entry for the “Clean and Simple Genius” category.

Sometimes, less is really more! I wanted to create a clean and simple Halloween card with non-traditional Halloween colors.  I also like the white pumpkins as fall decor, which is why I colored the pumpkins with light gray Copic markers. I wanted my focal point to be on the little witch and her cat. These images are so adorable!

I started out by stamping my images on Bristol Smooth 110 lb. white card stock using my MFT stamps Black Licorice hybrid ink. I used Copic markers to color my images in and used the coordinating dies to die-cut the images.

For my “subtle” sky scene, I used the clouds stencils with my light blue inkpad, lightly sponging the color on the card stock.

For the frame, I used my MFT Stamps Blueprints No. 32. I also die-cut the birch trees with the Birch Trees dies, also by MFT then lightly colored it with my Copic markers to give it some dimension.

To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment “A Halloween Hello” with my memento fog ink.

Here’s my card:

What do you guys think?  I hope you like my clean and simple card.  The supplies I used to create the card are listed and linked to the MFT online store.  Wish me luck and thank you for stopping by!

Newton’s Nook Designs & Chibitronics Inspiration Week + GIVEAWAY!

NND_Chibicollab

This week Newton’s Nook Designs and Chibitronics are partnering for a fabulous inspiration week! All week long, both design teams will be sharing ways to light up your cards using Chibi lights with Newton’s Nook Designs stamps! There is also a GIVEAWAY so please make sure to read up ‘til the end of this post to find out how you can WIN.

I am showcasing NND’s Cosmic Newton and Cultivated Cacti stamp set and dies, with the land border dies. I also would like to take this opportunity to thank Chibitronics for sending us this starter pack (this is a must-have, especially for the holidays).

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored my images in with Copic markers. I also cut a 5 ½ by 4 ¼ to stamp my stars and draw the dots with my versamark ink and versamark pen. I covered them with my white embossing powder and heat-set it. I then used my distress oxide inks to color my background to create a night-sky.

I marked the position of where the battery was going to go on my card base, and also marked the “+” and “-“ placement of the circuit lines. Before I finalized the design and adhered my card front, I wanted to make sure that the lights worked first:

Here’s my card:

NNDCHIBI1

Here’s when I pushed the cactus to show the lights on the moon!  Doesn’t it look so spectacular? I had so much fun creating this card.

Back to School with Xyron – Reusable (Laminated) Lunch Box Notes

Good morning my crafty peeps!  I am back today to share a (very easy) Back-To-School project, using my all-time favorite Mega Tape Adhesive Tape Runner and my Creative Station Lite with a Double-Side Laminate by Xyron.

When my kids were younger, I used to include lunch box “love notes” in my children’s lunch boxes, with some treats. I wanted them to feel that they are loved and special.  They also told me that it always cheered them up when they were having a bad day at school and they always look forward to opening their lunch boxes.  Just a warning though, this made some other kids in their class super jealous and started asking their mommies why they didn’t have cute notes and special treats in their lunch boxes! Haha! Needless to say, I was requested by the “non-crafty” mommies to make some lunchbox notes for their child!

I started out by stamping my images using my new favorite stamping platform by Tim Holtz. Since these images will go in lunch boxes, there is no need to take so much time with shading and such to color them in. I die-cut my images with the coordinating dies.

XyronLunchbox1

I already have some business-card size card stock in my stash so all I had to do was adhere my images to the card stock using my Xyron Mega Adhesive Tape Runner.

XyronBacktoSchool4

I stamped my sentiments with some stamps that I already have from my stash. You don’t have to use stamps for your sentiments. You can also write your own messages. I think it will actually be more special if you did!   I used my Creative Station Lite with the Double-sided Laminate to laminate my notes. This will protect your lunch box notes from the moisture inside the lunch box; plus you can totally reuse them over and over again!

XyronBacktoSchool2

XyronBacktoSchool3

Here’s what they all look like when laminated:

XyronLunchBox

This project will also be perfect for your little kids if they want to make their own notes to give to their classmates.   Aren’t they adorable?  I hope you like my back-to-school project today. Have an amazing day!
