NND January Release Day 1 -Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Roses

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and/or stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For the first day of the reveals we are featuring the Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Love Stamp sets, along with the Heart Frames die that also coordinates with the previously released Banner Trio die set.

To make my first card, I started by using the Heart Frames die set to die-cut the scallop heart with some Neenah solar white card stock.  I stamped the image on this piece with some Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I also used the biggest die to die-cut some red card stock.

Next, I used the third stitched die from the set, and die-cut the scallop panel that I previously colored.  I adhered the outer layer on the red card stock with liquid glue, then foam-mounted the middle piece for added dimension.  This gave it some nice layers without overwhelming the whole design.

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink on the sentiment strip that I die-cut using one of the dies from the Banner Trio die set, and adhered with my tape runner in the middle of the card.

The second card is relatively simple but I really LOVE how this one turned out.

I die-cut the scallop frame on some Bristol Smooth white card stock using the scallop doe from the Frames & Flags die set.  I positioned this panel inside my Misti stamping tool and stamped the images twice with some Versafine Onyx black ink.  I colored the images in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.   I forgot how much I love these markers!

I die-cut the arrows using a retired die-set called Points & Plumes and adhered onto the panel with liquid glue for added texture.  I stamped the sentiment on a die-cut strip from the Banner Trio die set, with some Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder, before heat-setting with my heating tool.  I foam-mounted this piece onto the  card.

Lastly, I finished my design by adding some clear mirror confetti dots for added texture.  Here’s another look:

You’re One of a Kind with LDRS Creative

Hello my crafty friends!  Maria Russell with you today on the LDRS blog with a simple “Valentine-themed” card showcasing one of my favorite stamp sets from the shop.  I am featuring the A2 Stitched Layered Card Toppers die setUp & Away stamp set and dies, along with the Rainy Day StencilAnytime Stack stamp setSentiment Stack Coordinating Die and In the Breeze die

Since Valentine’s Day is fast-approaching, I thought I’d get a head start and create some simple cards that you can easily mass-produce to send to friends.  I started by stamping my images on some Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Card Stock with Raven Hybrid Ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I used the Up & Away die set to die-cut the images.

Next, I cut a panel of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Card Stock using the A2 Stitched Layered Card Toppers die set.  I started to create my outdoor scene with the Rainy Day Stencil, a blending brush and Pistachios-A-Plenty Hybrid Ink for the grass.  The pink clouds were created with the same Rainy Day Stencil, blending brush and Soft Kisses Hybrid Ink.  I don’t know about you but this color-combo just screams “valentine’s” to me!

I used the In the Breeze die for added texture and adhered this panel on an A2-size card base.

Next, I adhered the images on the card with some liquid glue.  I finished my design by adding the sentiment “You’re One of a Kind“, that was earlier stamped on some black card stock using the Anytime Stack stamp set and Sentiment Stack Coordinating Die.  These stamp-and-die combo is one of my favorites because you can stamp the sentiments and die-cut a bunch with just one pass on your die-cutting machine.  LDRS has a few of these awesome stamps so check them all out at the shop and grab your favorites.

I really love how this card turned out, don’t you?!  The supplies I use are listed and linked below.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Next, I cut some TOW/Brutus Monroe Foil Transfer in Red Static just big enough to cover the Designer Toner Sheet in Peppermint Twist and ran this through my laminating machine. I adhered this on some black card base and added my focal image on the card.
I finished my design by adding the sentiment that was stamped and embossed using Watermark Embossing PadWhite Embossing Powder and the Christmas Wishes Sentiment Stack, and die-cut using the Wave Ribbon Stack Coordinating die.  I also used some white gel pen and drew dots on the foil and my focal image, and some Stickles for added texture and interest.  Here’s a little close-up:
I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and die-cut using the Panda Play die set.  I adhered the beautiful starry background from the Haunted Halloween 6×6 paper pack on some A2-size black card base.
Next, I cut some TOW DecoFoil Clear Toner Sheet in Starry Night and TOW/Brutus Monroe Foil Transfer Sheet in Gold Staticthe measuring 4 1/4 by 5 1/2, and ran this through my laminating machine.  I adhered this piece on top of the patterned paper with some liquid glue.
Since this is a night-time scene, I die-cut the grass using the In the Grass border die set on some black card stock and adhered on the card using the Scotch ATG Adhesive.  I used the same tape runner to adhere the Panda and the moon.
I finished my design by adhering the MISS You sentiment that was die-cut using the Miss You die set and some gold glitter card stock and adhered the red enamel heart on the back of the Panda for added texture and interest.  Here’s another look:

I used both slimline dies mentioned above and die-cut them with different colors of card stock and patterned paper.  I cut some Neenah 110 lb. card stock measuring 8 1/2 by 7, and folded in half as my slimline card base.  I adhered the red scallop first, then foam-mounted the white frame for added dimension.

The focal images were added with my tape runner.  I finished my design by die-cutting the banner from the Banner Trio die set, that was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with my heating tool.

I die-cut the mountains and snow using a die set from my collection and some Neenah Desert Storm and White glitter card stock.  I adhered this onto my colored background with my ATG gun.
The snowbanks were die-cut using the Sky Border and Land Border dies.  I used my BG Copic markers to add a little bit of color and adhered them onto the card panel with my ATG gun and foam adhesive.
Next, I adhered the trees and my focal image with some liquid glue.
I finished my card design by using my white gel pen and draw some lines and dots to the Snowman’s scarf and also used some Stardust Stickles for added texture.  Here’s another look:

For Day 3, we are showcasing with the Snowman Roundabout stamp set that also coordinates with the previously released Circle Frames die set and Banner Trio dies.

I decided to make a Christmas tag today.  To begin, I used the scallop from the Circle Frames die set and die-cut with some Neenah solar white 110 lb. card stock.  I positioned this panel inside my Misti and stamped the image using the stamp set.

I used my alcohol markers to color the images in.  Lately, I have been using a lot of traditional Christmas colors on my cards so I decided to change my theme this month and use pastel colors.

The sentiment strip was die-cut using the Banner Trio Frame and embossed with some embossing powder.  I foam-mounted this onto the panel for added dimension.

To finish my tag, I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole and inserted some silk ribbon.  I also used the black & white twine with some gold jingle bell for some contrast and added some Startdust Stickles to finishthe tag.  Here’s another look:

Shades of Autumn with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello my crafty friends! It is officially fall and I am celebrating by sharing this card with you today, showcasing the Shades of Autumn stamp, along with the Fall-ing For You stamp set.   This card was inspired by Angelica Conrad from The Greetery.  The color combination that she used in her card was stunning and I knew I just had to try it.

To begin, I stamped the sentiment from the Fall-Ing For You stamp set with Spectrum Noir Finesse Alcohol-Proof Ink in Rustic Brown on an A2-size card panel.  Next, I stamped the leaves randomly with Worn Lipstick and Aged Mahogany, Scattered Straw and Fossilized Amber, with Crushed Olive and Forest Moss.  I used my mini sponge daubers to intensify the colors and create deeper shadows.

I pressed my Aged Mahogany ink pad onto an acrylic block and added some water, then used my watercolor brush to mix it well and flicked it onto my card panel for added texture.

To finish my design, I adhered the Gold Rhinestone jewels with liquid glue for added dimension.  This card is very simple and can be easily mass-produced.  Here’s another look:

I hope you like my card today.  The supplies I use are listed and linked below.  Thank you so much for stopping by and happy fall season everyone!

Here’s the first card that I made:

I went for a clean and simple design for my first card.  The background was die-cut using the Wonky Stitched Nesting Slimline die on a panel of Bristol smooth white card stock and ink-blended with distress oxide inks.  I wanted the colors to be very subtle to create an early morning autumn sky.  I splattered some color on the background using aged mahogany distress oxide ink, mixed with water for added texture and dimension.  I also die-cut the rest of the elements that I needed to create my scene.

The images were stamped and colored with Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers and fussy-cut using precision snips.  I adhered the images onto the background using liquid glue.  I foam-mounted the scarecrow for added dimension.   Here’s a closer look:

The sentiment was stamped on black card stock with Versamark ink and heat-set with my heating tool.   I love the simplicity of this card and the colors of the images just really popped against the subtle background!

Since I colored a lot of images, I decided to make a second card.

I really love this Happy Fall stamp set by Not2Shabby.  Here’s a little close-up:
