NND February Release Day 3 – Baa Stamp & Die Set

It is the third day of the reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs.  I hope you were able to check out Monday and Tuesday’s reveal.  You also have a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day so please read through til the end of the blog post to find out more info.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. For Day 3, we are showcasing the Baa Stamp Set and coordinating dies.

This stamp set is probably one of my favorites from the release this week!  Once again I wanted some soft colors to welcome spring!

I started by stamping my images on some Neenah solar white with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I colored the images in with alcohol markers and positioned the dies with some purple tape to die-cut them out.

Next, I die-cut the elements that I need to create my scene using some of my favorite scene-builder dies from Newton’s Nook –>  Land Borders Die Set (for the grass and hill), Picket Fence Die and the Sky Scene Builder die set. The tiny trees were die-cut using a die from my collection.

I prepared my background by adding the clouds using the Clouds Stencil with some blending brush and dye ink.  I adhered this panel on an A-2 size notecard.   I started adhering the pieces that I die-cut earlier to create my scene and foam-mounted the grass for added dimension.

I adhered the colored images with some liquid glue and finished the design by adding the sentiment that was embossed and heat-set on some black card stock.  Here’s another look at the finished card:

NND February Release Day 1 – Spring Roundabout & Two New Stencils

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and/or stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs. For the first day of the reveals we are featuring the Spring Roundabout Stamp Set that coordinates with the Circle Frame Dies and Banner Trio die, along with the Basketweave and Bunny Tail Stencils.

It’s all about Spring colors today guys!

I started by cutting an A2-size panel of some Bristol smooth white card stock.  I sprayed my Basketweave stencil with some Pixie Spray and temporarily adhered it on the panel.  I used my blending brushes and some pink and peach dye inks to add the basketweave details on the background.

Next, I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored the images in with Spectrum Noir “Hint of Collection” alcohol markers.  I used the Circle Frame die to die-cut the image.  I also used the same circle frame die to die-cut a few pieces of white and pink card stock to create my shaker card.  I adhered the pieces together with some liquid glue to create my shaker well.  I added some iridescent sequins  as my shaker element.

To close the shaker portion, I adhered some acetate sheet to the pink die-cut and added some liquid glue.  I put some big acrylic blocks on this and waited for about half an hour until it was completely dry.

I die-cut from the Bitty Bibs die set and added some color to this piece.  I also added some glossy accents to give it more texture and dimension.  I waited for this piece to dry for about 30 minutes.

Next, I added my shaker to the ink-blended panel with some liquid glue and also added the little bow.  I finished my design by adhering this panel to an A2-size notecard and stamped the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  Here’s another look at the finished card:

Sweet Treats Blog Hop with Newton’s Nook Designs

nndsweettreatsbloghopsq

The Newton’s Nook Design Team is hopping along today to share some Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentines dayMake sure to scroll down at the bottom of this post to see the whole list, and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

For my project today, I am showcasing the Heartfelt Love stamp set, along with the Banner Trio Die and Heart Frames die set.

To begin, I stamped my image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers.  I die-cut the image that I colored using the scallop die from the Heart Frames die set.

To turn the die-cut into a tag, I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch a hole in the middle.  I inserted the eyelet and used my Crop-A-Dile again to set the eyelet and finish the tag.

I want a bigger treat holder this year to house my husband’s special treat.  I used a recycled glass jar that I washed in my dishwasher.  I added some pink shredded paper at the bottom for added color and texture.  Next, I poured the whole bag of Reese’s pieces (my husband’s favorite chocolate) inside the jar.   The glass jar is big enough to hold all of the chocolates inside.   I added more shredded paper on top and closed the jar with the lid.  I cut some red felt to cover the top of the jar and used some red and white twine to hold it shut.  I inserted my tag and created a loop, then finished it with a bow.  I also die-cut some arrows to decorate the top of the jar and adhered them with liquid glue.

To finish my tag design, I die-cut some black card stock using the Banner Trio die.  I stamped the sentiment on this piece and sprinkled some white embossing powder.  I used my heating tool to heat-set the sentiment and waited for this piece to cool for a few seconds.  To add more texture to the the sentiment, I used my Spectrum Noir Glittered Pens to add color to the word “HEART”.  Here’s another look:

I’ve always loved recycling glass jars and this treat holder turned out so cute with just a few supplies from my collection, and stamps & dies from Newton’s Nook Designs!  My hubby is going to LOVE this!  Don’t forget to join us and hop along to win one of the prizes.  Full details about the hop is indicated below.  I have also listed and linked the supplies I use.  Thanks for joining me today!

Get well Soon with Newton’s Nook Designs

Hello my crafty friends!  I am back for Newton’s Nook and I have kind of an unusual card, showcasing the Lovely Blooms stamp set and dies, along with Heartfelt Sentiment stamp set & Banner Trio die set.

I have donated a lot of my cards lately and need to replenish my stash and the one thing that I don’t have enough of is “Get Well Soon” cards.   I thought I’d make one today.  I recently watched a YT video by Rebecca Keppel and she showed some techniques on how to color with Distress oxide re-inkers.  Thanks to Rebecca for the idea!

I started by stamping my images on some Neenah Desert Storm card stock with Versamark ink.  I sprinkled some white embossing powder and heat-set with my heating tool.  I drop a few colors of my distress oxide re-inkers on my Tim Holtz Glass Mat and with my watercolor brush, I colored the images one by one.  The re-inkers I used are Broken China, Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac and Mowed Lawn.  I built-up the colors by drying in between layers using my heating tool.  Once I achieved the right intensity, I set them aside and started on my background panel.

The background was very simple to achieve.  I stamped the images on some A2 size panel of Neenah Desert Storm card stock with Versamark ink.  I put a few drops of white paint on my stamping block and used my watercolor brush to splatter on the background for added texture.  Next, I foam-mounted the biggest image on the card and added the layers with liquid glue.  I added them randomly all over the card and whatever excess that I cut, I adhered them back to the panel to fill in some empty spaces.   I added the sentiment from the Heartfelt Sentiments that I heat-embossed with white embossing powder, and die-cut with the Banner Trio die.  I finished my design by adding some Clear Mirrored Confetti Dots for more texture.  Here’s another look:

Thanks for stopping by.  The full supplies list is listed and linked below.  Have an amazing day!

NND January Release Day 4 – Newton’s Mug & Love Cafe

I am a bit bummed because it is the last day of the reveals.  I hope you were able to check out the last three days where we revealed some great stamp sets, dies & stencils. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For the last day, we are showcasing the Newton’s Mug stamp set + coordinating dies, along with the Love Cafe stamp set + coordinating dies.  These are mini stamp sets and they are so CUTE!

My first card was inspired by our DT Manager, Samantha Mann.  I love her ink-blended background with pops of black and white so I thought I’d give it a shot today!  I started by ink-blending my background with distress oxide inks and used the same purple color to splatter some inks with my watercolor brush.  Next, I used the Mugs stencil and some texture paste to add some texture to the background.  I put this panel aside to let it dry for a few minutes.

While the background panel is drying, I stamped the image on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with alcohol markers.  I also stamped the small “tea bag” image on some patterned paper to paper-piece the design.

Next, I die-cut the grass using the Land Border dies and cut a strip of black and white patterned paper, adhering them together with liquid glue before adding foam adhesive to it so I can foam-mount the pieces to the colored background.

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment on the image and foam-mounting this onto the card panel.

My next card is fairly simple.    I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with alcohol markers.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.

On another panel of Bristol smooth white card stock, I used the Sunscape stencil and Mustard Seed distress oxide ink to add the sun rays.  I adhered a panel of patterned paper and some brown strip onto the card panel to ground my images.

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment with Versafine Onyx black ink.

Would you like to win the “Newton’s Mug” or the “Love Cafe” Stamp Set?  We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!

NND January Release Day 1 -Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Roses

It is that time of the month where the entire design team get so excited to show off the new stamps, dies and/or stencils by Newton’s Nook Designs. For the first day of the reveals we are featuring the Heartfelt Love & Heartfelt Love Stamp sets, along with the Heart Frames die that also coordinates with the previously released Banner Trio die set.

To make my first card, I started by using the Heart Frames die set to die-cut the scallop heart with some Neenah solar white card stock.  I stamped the image on this piece with some Memento Rich Cocoa ink and colored the images in with alcohol markers.  I also used the biggest die to die-cut some red card stock.

Next, I used the third stitched die from the set, and die-cut the scallop panel that I previously colored.  I adhered the outer layer on the red card stock with liquid glue, then foam-mounted the middle piece for added dimension.  This gave it some nice layers without overwhelming the whole design.

I finished my design by stamping the sentiment with Versamark ink on the sentiment strip that I die-cut using one of the dies from the Banner Trio die set, and adhered with my tape runner in the middle of the card.

The second card is relatively simple but I really LOVE how this one turned out.

I die-cut the scallop frame on some Bristol Smooth white card stock using the scallop doe from the Frames & Flags die set.  I positioned this panel inside my Misti stamping tool and stamped the images twice with some Versafine Onyx black ink.  I colored the images in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.   I forgot how much I love these markers!

I die-cut the arrows using a retired die-set called Points & Plumes and adhered onto the panel with liquid glue for added texture.  I stamped the sentiment on a die-cut strip from the Banner Trio die set, with some Versamark ink and sprinkled some white embossing powder, before heat-setting with my heating tool.  I foam-mounted this piece onto the  card.

Lastly, I finished my design by adding some clear mirror confetti dots for added texture.  Here’s another look:

Not A Creature Was Stirring…..

Hello Newton’s Nook fans! I’m back today to share with you this cute “cheesy” Christmas card, showcasing the Naughty & Mice stamp set and coordinating dies, along with the Banner Trio die setPines & Holly die set and Circle Frames die set.

To make my card, I die-cut an A2 size panel of some yellow card stock and used one of the circle die from the Circle Frames die set to die-cut a few holes.  I wanted this piece to look like “cheese”.  I inked up this panel with some Fossilized Amber distress oxide ink to create some shadows for added texture.  I foam-mounted this piece on an A-2 size card base for added dimension and my scissors to cut-off the excess.

Next, I stamped the mice on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in my alcohol markers.  I used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  I die-cut the pine boughs using the Pines & Holly die set and adhered on the card with liquid glue.

I added the mice with foam adhesive and finished my design by adding the sentiment strip that was die-cut using the Banner Trio die set.  Easy Peasy!  Here’s another look:

I hope you like my card today.  The supplies I use are listed and linked below.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have an amazing day!
