Trick or Treat Card with Kat Scrappiness

I know it’s only August but I like working on my Halloween cards as early as possible as I make quite a few of them to send to friends.  For my card today I am showcasing the Stitched Scalloped Collage Frame Die, the Lawn Fawn Halloween set and the new Gold Jewels mix and 3mm Transparent Neon yellow Solid Star Confetti mix.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my alcohol markers.  Since I don’t have the coordinating dies for my images I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 to die-cut them.  I also die-cut the Stitched Scalloped Collage Frame die with some black card stock and used my foam adhesive to create my little well for my shaker card.

I assembled my shaker card and stamped my sentiment on some orange card stock using the banner die that is included in the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set.  This die-set is probably one of my all-time favorite dies to use for my projects.

Here’s my card:

I didn’t use the traditional orange and black sequins because I felt that it would have overwhelmed the whole card design.

I love how this card turned out.  The new Gold Jewels mix is beautiful!  Here’s another look:

I Craft Therefore I Hoard

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are all having a great week so far. Maria here with you today and I am back to share with you two card samples showcasing the new Crafter’s Gonna Craft stamp set, with the new Stitched Scalloped Collage Frame Die.

I have been super busy traveling for the last few weeks that I don’t have a step-by-step instruction for you.  I guess if you are a card maker or a scrapbooker, you would have figured out how I made the cards already but I apologize if you are a beginner.  Please know that once I am back on a regular schedule, I will have a step-by-step tutorial or even a YouTube video. I promise!  Here’s my first simple, one-layer card:

This new stamp set is a must-have for any paper crafter!  Here’s another look:

My second card just cracks me up!  If you are a crafter, I am sure you can relate with the sentiment.

Isn’t it true though?  I am such a hoarder.  I collect anything and everything that I can use for a future project, it drives my husband nuts!  I didn’t realize how much hoarding I’ve been doing until it was time to pack up most of my craft supplies to move it all back to my home in Florida.

I also LOVE the new sparkling jewels at the shop.  They come in different colors but my favorite is the clear, sparkling one that I used on my project.  I prefer adhering it flat-side up and I think it gives more shine.

I hope you like my projects today.  Please don’t forget to check out the August release by Kat Scrappiness.  The new dies are must-haves for sure!  Don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order.  Also, don’t forget to check out the Lawn Fawn items that are currently on sale at the shop for 20% off by using code “LAWNFAWN”.  It is only valid until August 12th.  Have an amazing day and happy crafting!

Just A Little Hello

Howdy Kat Scrappiness fans!  Maria here on the blog today with a simple card, showcasing the Crafter’s Essentials 1 die set.  If you are waiting for this die-set, you are in luck because they are arriving back in stock next week!  If you haven’t ordered this yet, you can now reserve it so that you don’t have to wait again.

To make things easier for me, I started out by choosing a sketch pattern from the Kat Scrappiness site (you can see this photo on the product sample).  I downloaded this sketch and inserted this piece in the envelope with the dies so I can use them for my future projects.  Sometimes, it is helpful to have it when you’re not feeling crafty!  I am having one of those days since the majority of my supplies are currently loaded in a shipping container, en-route to our home in FL.

I die-cut some A2 size card stock with the rounded-edge rectangle die.  I used the same die to die-cut a patterned paper.

I used the long strip die that is included in the set to die-cut another piece of some white card stock (slightly a different color from my card base).  I also used the stars die to die-cut  one pin pink, blue and yellow.

I stamped my images on some Neenah solar white card stock and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the image with the coordinating die.  To finish my design, I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and used my belli-roll pen to add more details to the images.  Here’s my card:

I love the simplicity of this card.  I didn’t do a lot as you can tell, but it turned out really cute!  This sketch is also perfect to create a “Welcome Baby” card.  Here’s another look:

This Crafter’s Essentials 1 die setis definitely a must-have for any paper crafter.  I think the little stitched star die is just the right size to add to your projects.  I love the stitching details to it as well.

I hope you like my card today.  Please don’t forget to use my coupon code “MARIA10” for 10% off your order at the shop.  Don’t forget to check the clearance section too!  I wish you all a wonderful day!  Happy crafting!

I made two cards today to showcase the Crafter’s Essentials 2 die set and I have a process video for the mermaid card that you will see below.

For my first card, I used an older stamp set from my stash and made a simple card.   I love the stitching details  on the banner and the bigger dies.

I also used the Everyday Brush Strokes stamp set for my sentiment.  Don’t you just love the chevron pattern on the big die?   Here’s another look:

I added some black dots on the card base to give it a little bit more dimension.  Here’s a little close-up:

For my second card, I wanted to create a happy, summer-themed card.  I used a stamp set that I recently purchased with this cute cat mermaid.  I also used the Sunscape stencil die by Newton’s Nook Designs.

I started out by inking up some Bristol smooth white card stock with Squeezed Lemonadeand Spiced Marmalade distress oxide inkwith my mini ink blending tool.  Since I have a process video for this card, I will keep this blog post short.

I inlaid the little chevron pieces on my card.  I also added the Sparkling Clear Jewels to make them look like bubbles.  Here’s a little close-up:

This card makes me happy.  I love the colors that I used and this die-set is a must-have!  Here’s another look:

Just Chicken-In Card – New Die at Kat Scrappiness

Hello my crafty peeps!  I am super excited to share this post because today, we are launching a new die by Kat Scrappiness called Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Background Die.  This die is designed by Kathleen herself and it is AMAZING!  It gives a nice wood grain-embossed details on the die-cut.  Here’s what it looks like:

IMG_8538

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock with my Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I fuzzy-cut the images using my precision cut scissors.

I used some older dies by Lawn Fawn to die-cut the grass hills and the picket fence.

I die-cut some silver foiled card stock using the new die.  I also used another light tan card stock to die-cut the same piece so I can layer them together.  For the second piece, I cut the wires using my scissors, and adhered this piece onto the silver foiled card stock.  I adhered an acetate sheet to this piece, then added foam adhesive to create my little well for my shaker card.

I cut an A2 size card stock for my card base.  I used the Sunburst Layering Stencils by Honeybee Stamps (also available at the shop) to color my card base.  I used a clouds stencil die to add the clouds.

I added the Walking on Sunshine sequin mix inside the well and adhered my card base on top to create my shaker card.  I adhered the chicken and the little chicks onto the foreground.

To finish my design, I die-cut some white card stock using the Stitched Flag Dies and stamped the sentiment.  I added this piece to my card with a pink bow.

KatScrapChickenWire1A

I love, love, love this new die!  I love that it also embosses the die-cut.  This die will also be great to create some layers, or do an inlaid technique.  The possibilities are endless!

Here’s what the card looks like.  I added some cute girly, eyelashes to the soda image on the left side.

KatScrapMFEO1B

Also added some black polka dots to the whole background to finish it off.  I LOVE the cute little smiley faces from the Punny Snack stamp set.  They are adorable!

This M.F.E.O. Quote is one of my favorite scenes from the movie, Sleepless in Seattle.  I thought it was really funny!

Father’s Day Card with Dad’s Tools stamp set by Kat Scrappiness

Hello my crafty friends, Maria here with you today on the blog!  I hope you are all having a great week so far.  Father’s Day is fast approaching and it is time to honor all the AMAZING dads out there.  The new Dad’s tools – 6×8 Layered stamp set is perfect for this type of occasion, or you can even make just-because cards.  It doesn’t always just have to be for one day out of the year.  I know if my Dad were here, I probably would make him a card at least once a month.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock, using my Tim Holtz Tonic Stamp Platform.  I think it is a must-have tool for stamping layered images.  Since this stamp set did not have matching dies, I used my Brother Scan N Cut2 to die-cut the images.

I used the biggest of my Cross Stitched Rectangle dieto die-cut the blue patterned paper taken from the Gotta Have Gingham Petite Paper Pack 6×6 by Lawn Fawn.  I then used the third piece of the Cross Stitched Rectangle dieto die-cut a piece of silver card stock. I placed this card stock onto my We R Memory Keepers embossing folder and run it through my die-cutting machine to emboss this piece.

I adhered my blue patterned paper onto my card base and then layered the embossed silver cardstock on top for my foreground.  On another piece of white card stock, I die-cut the word Dad with the Uppercase Condensed Alphabet Dies.  To give it some dimension, I used my foam adhesive to adhere the word Dad onto my card.

I stamped the sentiment on a black card stock with my Versa-mark ink and used my white embossing powder then set it using my heating tool.  I also adhered the hammer and screwdriver images from the stamp set.  I finished the design by adhering my blue enamel dots on the four corners of my silver card stock embossed piece.  Here’s the card.

KatScrapDadsToools1

I honestly struggle with masculine cards so designing this was a bit of a challenge for me.  However, I love how this turned out.  Here’s a close-up look:
