Just Chicken-In Card – New Die at Kat Scrappiness

Hello my crafty peeps!  I am super excited to share this post because today, we are launching a new die by Kat Scrappiness called Wood Grain Framed Diamond Wire Background Die.  This die is designed by Kathleen herself and it is AMAZING!  It gives a nice wood grain-embossed details on the die-cut.  Here’s what it looks like:

IMG_8538

I stamped my images on Neenah solar white card stock with my Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I fuzzy-cut the images using my precision cut scissors.

I used some older dies by Lawn Fawn to die-cut the grass hills and the picket fence.

I die-cut some silver foiled card stock using the new die.  I also used another light tan card stock to die-cut the same piece so I can layer them together.  For the second piece, I cut the wires using my scissors, and adhered this piece onto the silver foiled card stock.  I adhered an acetate sheet to this piece, then added foam adhesive to create my little well for my shaker card.

I cut an A2 size card stock for my card base.  I used the Sunburst Layering Stencils by Honeybee Stamps (also available at the shop) to color my card base.  I used a clouds stencil die to add the clouds.

I added the Walking on Sunshine sequin mix inside the well and adhered my card base on top to create my shaker card.  I adhered the chicken and the little chicks onto the foreground.

To finish my design, I die-cut some white card stock using the Stitched Flag Dies and stamped the sentiment.  I added this piece to my card with a pink bow.

KatScrapChickenWire1A

I love, love, love this new die!  I love that it also embosses the die-cut.  This die will also be great to create some layers, or do an inlaid technique.  The possibilities are endless!

KatScrapChickenWire1B

You guys should also check out the new sequin mixes at the shop.  This Walking on Sunshine sequin mix is so cheerful and the colors are so vibrant!  I chose this mix to make it look like corn kernels 🙂

Newton Dreams of Paris

Hello Newton’s Nook fans!  I hope you are all having a great week so far!  Who is getting ready to pack up for a holiday trip?   I will be traveling a lot this month but unfortunately I am not going to Paris though!  Major bummer!  It wouldn’t hurt to dream about Paris though, would it?  The last time I was in Paris, it was October of 2012.  It was so cold and rainy and I didn’t get the chance to go up the Eiffel Tower.  Okay, who I am kidding?  I probably wouldn’t be able to go up there anytime of the year anyway because I’m afraid of heights!  So I am sitting here dreaming about seeing Paris in the summer time, riding a hot air balloon or going at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

For today’s card, I am showcasing this adorable stamp set called Newton Dreams of Paris with the coordinating dies.  I completely ADORE this stamp set.  This is for sure, a must-have for any stamper.

I started out by stamping my images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  For each rainbow, I used two Copic markers to blend the colors.   I have a process video for you today (linked below) if you’d like to see the whole process.

NNDNewtonDreamofParis1A

I really love how this card turned out!

NNDNewtonDreamsofParis1B

I finished the design by adding white dots to the hot air balloon and the sky, and glossy accents to the hearts!

Gone Fishing’ Scrapbook Layout

I hope everyone’s having a great week.  Maria here on the blog with you today!  I am sharing a scrapbook layout, showcasing the Great Outdoors Fishing Paper Crafting Kit with I’d Rather be Fishing 3D stickers.  I have always wanted to use this Kit but never had a chance until now.

Here’s what I got to play with.  This Great Outdoors Fishing Paper Crafting Kit is a must-have!  It also comes with a 12×12 sticker sheet!

IMG_8415

I started out by printing my photos using my Canon Selphy Photo Printer.  I love this printer so much and I think every scrapbooker should own one.

IMG_8417

I chose the paper that I wanted to use for my layout and started planning where I wanted my photos to go.  I always do this step first every time I work on a scrapbook layout before I start adhering them onto the paper.  This gives me time to adjust them and plan on what embellishments I needed to finish my designs.

IMG_8416

I matted my photos with black card stock and adhered them to my layout.

IMG_8418

I started adding the embellishments to my layout and added the alphabet stickers that are included in the Great Outdoors Fishing Paper Crafting Kit.

IMG_8419

I think a scrapbook layout should always tell a story.  Without it, it’s just a photo album!  I always like to write the story with my own handwriting as it gives it a more personal touch.  Hopefully my children will be taking care of these books when I’m gone, and they will be able to pass it on to my future grandchildren.

PHPGoneFishin1A

Did I mention I love the stickers from the I’d Rather Be Fishing 3D Stickers?   That little fish looks so realistic!

PHPGoneFishin1C

I absolutely LOVE the alphabet stickers that are included in the kit.  The title made a bold statement on my layout.

I don’t know about you, but I like to keep a stash of “just-because” cards to give to family and friends.  I love the “Ghost Inlaid Technique” that I added to this card using the Condensed Lowercase Alphabet Dies and even though it looks complicated, it really isn’t.  I have a process video for you all today (linked below) so I will keep this blog post short.

Here’s what the card looks like.  I added some cute girly, eyelashes to the soda image on the left side.

KatScrapMFEO1B

Also added some black polka dots to the whole background to finish it off.  I LOVE the cute little smiley faces from the Punny Snack stamp set.  They are adorable!

Woodland Buddies by Not2Shabby

Hello everyone! I am guest-designing today at Not2Shabby shop and I made three cards, showcasing the Woodland Buddies stamp set.  I have a process video for the birthday card, which I will link below.

I was supposed to join the YouTube Hop last month but my camera stand gave up and I couldn’t film the process for the other two cards that I made earlier.  I ordered a new one but it took awhile for the new camera stand to arrive, which is why I’m only sharing this now.

Here’s the first card that I made:

Scrapbook Layout with Paper House Productions & Scrapbook Adhesives

Hello Paper House Productions fans!  I hope you are having a great week.  This week we are teaming up with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.   I will be sharing a layout showcasing the Sun Drenched 12×12 Paper Pad and the Marbleous paper pad collection by the Paper House Productions with some amazing adhesives by Scrapbook Adhesives.   Here is what I got to play with during this collaboration:

IMG_8306

My mom loves the scrapbook layouts that I have been putting together lately and she asked my sister to email me some of her most favorite photos.  My parents were married for 41 years before my Dad passed away in 1996.  Even when they got a lot older, my Dad would still write love notes to my mom, hold her hand all the time and bring her flowers.  He was very romantic!

I started out with the Sun Drenched 12 x 12 paper pad collection as my base.  I printed my photos using my Canon Selphy Photo Printer .  To ground my photos, I adhered some black card stock with the E-Z Runner Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser.  This is my first time using the adhesives and let me just tell you, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the E-Z Permanent Strips Adhesive.  It applied so smoothly and the adhesive didn’t even skip!  I adhered the photos onto my scrapbook paper.

IMG_8284

The theme this week for the collaboration is “SPARKLE”.  I wanted to use the gold foil sheet that I received but it wasn’t big enough to cover the moon and stars die-cut.  I opted to die-cut the elements with a gold card stock instead and adhered it using the Adhesive Dots – Mini.

IMG_8308

To finish my design, I adhered the script sentiment with the Adhesive Dots – Mini and used my white paint pen to add some white dots all over the background.

IMG_8307

I just cant say enough good things about the adhesives.  I will be ordering more of these adhesives to use for my projects, for sure!   The mini dot adhesives are super sticky and it gave some good dimension to my die-cut pieces.

PHPSweetLayout1

I just love the background paper that I used using the Sun Drenched paper pad collection, and the contrasting orange piece from the Marbleous paper pad collection with the gold foiling.

PHPSweetLayout1B

Don’t you just love all the sparkle and shine?

PHPSweetLayout1C

I hope you all got inspired this week!  There is also a GIVEAWAY by the Paper House Productions on the Facebook Page and Blog.  The supplies I used are listed and linked.  Have a great weekend!

SUPPLIES:  Sun Drenched 12×12 Paper Pad Collection, Marbleous 12×12 Paper Pad Collection, EZ Runner Permanent Strips Refillable Dispenser, Adhesive Dots – Mini.

Newton’s Nook Designs May Release – Newton Loves Boxes & Newton’s Donut

NNDReleaseIcon18May

It is the last day of the May reveals by Newton’s Nook Designs  and we are doing a double-whammy kind of day!  Don’t forget to check out the details I have indicated at the end of this blog post for a chance to win the stamp set being revealed each day.  [Just a little important note:  I know some of you had difficulties finding the comments section.  If you would like to leave a comment to participate in the giveaway, the “comments section” will only be ever visible when a single post on Word Press is being viewed. Please click on this particular blog post and you will be able to leave a comment below.  Thank you!]

For our projects, the design team is showcasing the Newton Loves Boxes stamp set and coordinating die with Newton’s Donut stamp set and coordinating die.   I love, love, love these two stamp sets!

NNDMAY18NewtonLovesBoxes

NNDMAY18NewtonsDonut

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored them in with my Copic markers.  I die-cut the images using the coordinating dies.  I had planned on creating two Clean and Simple cards today.  The images are so cute and I wanted these images to pop.

I dry-embossed two (2) A2 size card stocks with the Postage die from the Framework die set (revealed last Monday), with my Sizzix Premium Crease Pad.  As I previously mentioned, I am really loving this dry-embossed look.  I die-cut a little window from a wonky square die from my stash.

To finish my design, I stamped the stars from the Cosmic Newton stamp set on my foreground using a very light gray ink.  These stars gave a subtle background but the main focus is still the image.  Here’s my first card:

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1

Don’t you just LOVE this image?  I completely adore this!  I have a Persian cat named Chloe and I often find her hidden inside a box with her tail sticking out!  Haha! This is so cute!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1B

I think this image is my favorite in the stamp set!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes1A

Here’s my second card:

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes2

I cannot get over how cute these images really are!

NNDNewtonLovesBoxes2A

For my second project, I created the same embossed look with the Postage die from the Framework die set.  I also die-cut two tags using the Fancy Edges Tag die set, and the bow from my favorite Pines and Holly die set.  I adhered the pieces on my card base and finished the design by adding glossy accents to the sprinkles to make them pop.  Here’s my card:

NNDNewtonsDonut1

Isn’t this the best double-whammy kind of day?  I absolutely adore these two stamp sets we revealed today!  I think they are not only cute, but they are very unique!

NNDNewtonsDonut1A

The design is pretty busy but by using the neutral colored background and matching it with the tag and bow, it just worked perfectly!

NNDNewtonsDonut1B

Did you get inspired this week?  I hope you love the reveals as much as we did showcasing each stamp set and dies!  I’d love to know your favorites from the May release.
